KEF KC62 Subwoofer (Titanium Grey)
KEF KC62 is a compact subwoofer that is designed to deliver powerful and accurate bass performances for an enjoyable, immersive experience. The KC62 uses KEF’s ground breaking Uni-Core technology, P-Flex surround design and can be used with almost any speaker system. Why the KC62? The KC62 subwoofer is one of KEF’s smallest subs on the market. It features two 6.5” force cancelling drive units powered by 1,000W RMS of specially designed Class D amplification, which is housed a ultra-compact extruded aluminium cabinet. Uni-Core Technology KEF’s Uni-Core technology combines both drivers into a single magnet system, which reduces cabinet size by over a third, whilst increasing excursion to unlock exceptional output and depth. Compact Sub KEF’s KC62, unlike a lot of subs on the market, is an ultra-compact subwoofer standing at only 24.6cm with a width of only 25.6cm. Contrary to it’s small stature the KC62 is capable of providing accurate, deep bass for an fully immersive movie or musical experience. 1000W RMS The KC62’s twin drivers are powered by 1,000W RMS (2 x 500W) of specially designed Class D amplification, which provides an exceptional level of control and the power to deliver instant bursts of power when needed. 5 Pre-sets The KC62 has five Room Placement Equalisation pre-sets to ensure the same performance no matter where the sub is installed. P-Flex Surround Design KEF’s KC62 P-Flex driver surround has a unique pleated design to improve resistance to acoustic pressure in the cabinet, which allows the driver to move more precisely and produce a deeper and more accurate bass reproduction. Design meets substance The KC62 sub is made from extruded aluminium. It has curved cabinet design that providing strength and style. The ultra-compact size enables it to fit in most locations, and the Carbon Black and Mineral White finishes allow it to match most decors.

It adds so much depth to everything I listen to. The tricky part is to find the right crossover frequency. The beauty with paring with LS50W, LSX or any KEF active series is that the KEF app allows users to adjust both high pass and low pass filter on the fly making it much more convenient to tune the crossover point. It's still a time consuming process, but that's also part of the fun.Power:You can't beat physics, even with two woofers, they are only 6 inch and you can reach deep bass but not at high volume. Or if you want high volume, it cannot reach as low. But I feel the the power (pressure) is way more than sufficient for me. Unelss you use it in a huge home theater room, i feel that this is way more than enough. Personally, I dont listen at very high volume, but even that, when watch movies or shows, the subwoofer is already more than powerful for what I need.If you are a bass head, this may not satify you. Also, this is not for hosting party, banquet. But for majority people who live in apartment, or a regular house, the power of KC62 should be more than suffificent. Also, I feel that bass does not always have to be at loud volume. It's the subtle but deep bass that is the most impressive.Setup:With the app, setting much is much easier, But within the app, (for non-KEF active speakers owners), there are still manual knobs at the back of the KC62 to adjust the cross over. There are also a built-in EQ switches on the back of KC62 to adjust if you are positioning the subwooder at a corner, near a wall or in an apartment. So , the setup process and the amount of freedom in adjustment is above average compared to other subwoofers.Value:At this list price, this is this very expensive. You can get a larger size SVS subwoofer at almost half the price. If you are looking for value, you won't find it here. That's why i am only giving it 4 stars. If you already own LS50w LS50WII, LSX , LSXII or LS60W, KC62 would match very nicely.

Pairs nicely with Kef ls50 wireless II. Bass is nuanced and blends well. It’s not going to rattle your windows but it adds so much depth to the music. It’s great for music but not so much for movies. Perfect for a 2 channel music set up.

I looked at a lot of subwoofers and read lots of specifications. I wanted one that wasn’t so big and conspicuous and many of them, but added more bass to jazz. I also didn’t want the whole room to vibrate during movies. The KEF KC62 was the best one for my needs. It blends into the room and sounds great.

WOW! I've been reading reviews on every sub out there. I've been watching reviews on every sub out there. I've had my eye on the KC62 for a long time. I seemed to be looking for a reason not to buy it more than a reason to buy it. The reasons...Size and cost. What a complete waste of time. This little guy weighs a ton and is awesome. It is very well made and matches up perfectly with my LS50s...Not wireless. As soon as I hooked it up it completely changed my listening soundscape. I have it set up near field for a home office. The LS50s are ear level and the sub is just off to the left and it melds perfectly. The sub made the LS50s much more detailed. I am curious if it would do the same with other speakers. It's pricey, but well worth it! Very happy with purchase.
Compact in size. Can pump out clean prodigious bass and pairs easily with the KEF LS50 Wireless 2. Minimal fuss to set up. Works well with the KEF App. You will need to hit a certain volume on your main speakers to activate the subwoofer. On the KEFs, it's about 35 to 40. No regrets
I live on the top level of triplex and needed (ok, wanted) a sub that wouldn't rattle the floors to pair with my LS50 Metas. Because of the self cancelling nature of the dual woofers, this provides exactly that. Not cheap but does what I needed.
I'm using this sub paired with my Kef LSX-II speakers with my gaming setup. Absolute overkill, but I love it. The best thing I can say about the KC62 in this context is it gets out of the way. The system now has tight, ever-present bass, without a sub screaming "YOU BOUGHT A SUBWOOFER HERE IS SOME THUMP" all the time. The most impressive part for me is how integrated the frequencies are with the other speakers. The bass feels like it's coming at me from the monitor rather than just rattling my feet. Very, very impressed. One nitpick: at this price it's lame that there isn't a simple RCA plug included to connect to your system. Otherwise this thing is amazing.
I purchased a pair of these compact K 62 subs & they are phenomenal. It's a sub that will deliver sub bass (down to 11HZ ~ I challenge you to find that number elsewhere.) you will notice immediately when watching Netflix series with extended bass. That said, it's not overpowering nor meant to be so unless you dial it up that way on the settings. It should also be noted that almost any music will have a substantial presence at the bottom end without feeling overwhelming. I'm talking about a super tight clean natural bass. I have them mated up with a pair of LS 50 Wireless 2's and the difference is night and day with the addition of the subs. Well worth the cost of admission. Highly recommended. I also recommend IsoAcoutics stands for the LS 50 W2's. This really ... MoreI purchased a pair of these compact K 62 subs & they are phenomenal. I also recommend IsoAcoutics stands for the LS 50 W2's. This really details the soundstage to whole new levels. Another addition I made is the Furman Elite 20 PFI power conditioner. This unit made a huge difference in detailing the soundstage, clarity, warmth, and dynamics. Back to the K 62s, I suspect that they'll put a wide smile on your face.
Best compact size active subwoofer for small to medium size room. It goes deep, fast and tight. It works extremely well with most bookshelf speakers. It can also be used in a home theater system, but I think you can find much cheaper alternatives. For the price, I would rather use it in a high performing 2 channel system.
If you are tight on space, this is a very decent small sub. I liked it overall but I was not blow away by it. For me, it was not great in a larger room (20x20x8) or as a primary home theatre sub. In a smaller room it will hold it's own very well.I ended up returning it and bought a very nice REL HT/1205. It cost about a third the price of the KEF and I personally like it more. Again, in fairness, in a very small room e.g., 12x12, or if you don't want to look at a bigger sub box and money is not a concern, the KEF offers some unique value. Sonically, it did hit the lows but just not with a lot of authority. There is only so much 2- 6.5" drivers can do. Amazing for the size but not so amazing against a well powered, great quality 12" sub like the REL.
