When our 50-year-old Kelvinator wall air conditioner finally died we wondered how we could replace it. Luckily this new Kelvinator was just a bit smaller in all dimensions and much lighter so it fit nicely into the old opening high up on the back wall. Not only is the new one smarter looking, it is much quieter than the old one and more efficient. It cools a very large area, starting with the kitchen (which is a joy when I am cooking) and extending into a large lounge and dining area. I couldn't be more pleased.

This review is not for this airconditioner but it is about another 6kw wall type I bought December 2020. It stopped working December 2021 on a 44 degree Xmas day and still not properly fixed. The service from Kelvinator has been terrible only surpassed by the Perth service agent. Appliances Onlines best effort was to send messages to Kelvinator which amounted to nothing. Kelvinator warranty division suggested I chase it up with the service agent. But it's their job not mine so as of March 1 my $1000 a/c is still not properly fixed. Take what you will from this review about the 1st one. As for this one I'm about to install it today so can't comment on how it will function long term.

I purchased the air conditioner for my brother, who does works nightshift 4pm to 4am. He has to sleep through the day. Best thing to have when it is hot outside and you're trying to catch up on sleep. He's not so crabby now when he wakes up for his next shift. So my sister-in-law says.

Packaging was a lot larger than aircon so had to use a Nissan Patrol to pick it up, anything smaller will need delivery/trailer/ute. Product was true to the dimensions as it was replacing same/similar wall unit. Tested out portable aircon as alternative but this is 100% better at cooling the space down. Works perfectly.
Had a smaller kelvinator before, a 2.something Kw and it didn't cool my two bed duplex down enough. When the old unit gave way I decided on this unit as it had the same dimensions (easy to install) despite being nearly twice the power (and price). It was easy to install and at nearly double the Kw I find I only need to run it on low. Cons it is not as quiet as a split system but then again the low amount of noise it does emit is well worth the cooling that it provides even on 40 days. FYI, my place is an 80sqr mtr duplex I close the bedroom doors and it really chills my lounge kitchen and dining areas to freezing, haven't tried but I'm sure it could do the whole place. Install into window frame, securing with appropriate screws. Replace aircon into frame. To cover gaps. I choose Raven weather strip RP14B white to cover gaps internally. I was able to purchase on-line and collect from North Lakes Good Guys that evening! Installation was easy and air-con was working the next day! It fitted perfectly into a sliding window in our multi-purpose family room. We are very pleased with this purchase as this air-con is far more efficient and much quieter than previous window air-conditioners we have used. I am now considering purchasing a larger model for our living room rather than having to pay someone to instal a split system.
We got this air conditioner for my mum whose room gets the afternoon sun. It is very quiet and it cools down the room quite quickly. Setting it on 21c seems to be perfect for mum. It is quite wide, which is a shame as we wanted to buy the same one for us, but our window is not big enough. The ability to turn the lights off on the front panel is great. Installation was easy. The only problem I could find and if I had to be pickie, it seems to be common for all windows air cons, is under them there a big gap which needs to be filled. But no big deal, it is just something to be aware of when installing. Easy fixed with either silicone or window seal.
This aircon is very powerful , in 5 mins can cool the whole place down, in 3 mins can warm the whole place up. In the heating part, the temperature reached 5 degrees higher than what we want, for example we want 23C, we have to set at 20C to let it start then change to 19C, then heating will stop around 24 or 25 C, perhaps our room is pretty small, sometimes we have to control by turning it off, its very efficient anyway! Happy so far.
Heavy to install but the unit does everything I hoped it would. Warms my single car size garage workshop from 13 deg to 21deg in five minutes. Delivery guys lifted unboxed unit to bench where I needed it then took away the uninstalled 30 year old unit that was being replaced (also kelvinator but cool only). The delivery guy was polite, helpful and fast. This type of air con unit uses a bit more power than an inverter unit but I figure it won’t be on all the time and it can be self installed by a competent handyman as it has 15amp wall plug. All aspects of this purchase through appliancesonline was a breeze, a well organised team.
