Overall I'm a bit disappointed with this item. It's so small that it's a struggle to chop a whole onion in one. It's very powerful, so great for purées or herbs but you have to be careful if you only want to roughly chop your veg. The lid is very tricky to get off and the chopper is very noisy when in use. It does have its uses but it's not as versatile as I was hoping for.

After my last mini chopper disintegrated spectacularly whilst slicing through some chunks of cooked lamb, I have been nervous about purchasing a new one. I had wanted to wait until I could afford a new, super expensive model, but after months of chopping onions I gave in and decided to buy this little guy.To think, all those months of onion tears could have been avoided sooner This chopper so far has been excellent. First off, its blades are really quite sharp. When washing the blades for the first time, they sliced right through my sponge, so do be careful. Cooked leg of lamb was the first meat to be tested out, and it sliced through it no problem. Finally a good shepherd pie again. Cooked leg of lamb was the first meat to be tested out, and it sliced through it no problem. Finally a good shepherd pie again. Vegetables have been no problem, and decent sized chunks can be used without the machine struggling. Now the mini chopper itself is a really good size. I have a small kitchen, and counter space is an issue, but this slotted in just nicely. It feet are sturdy whilst in use, and importantly I feel confident using it.Now whilst I do love it, there are some issues. I dislike how there is only one button for both speeds, it makes it easy to over pure an onion for example, but I believe getting more used to it may help in that regard. Another issue is that when doing a lot of chopping, getting the bowl off can sometimes be a bit difficult. Especially if youre hands are a little wet as the edge of the bowl can get stuck on the lip a little until you maneuver it a bit more. Practice makes perfect I suppose.Overall, its an amazing little chopper, able to do nearly all the quick chopping you need whilst cooking. Easy to use, and simple to clean and a great price.

My *go to* kitchen accessory.
9 March 2024

I purchased this Kenwood mini chopper to replace my original one which was purchased many years ago. I loved it - it was the most used appliance in my kitchen . It is just the correct size for small pieces of vegetablesI only replaced it because the container was getting a bit grubby following an incident with coffee beans!I donated it to my local charity shop.

Nice product, does its job, fairly small
14 February 2024

Bought this with vouchers that I received as a gift and it is a worthwhile addition to a kitchen. It's small and easily stored and does the job when a small amount of vegetables need chopping or you need to puree food. It was surprisingly easy to clean too. I haven't used it as much as I would have expected to but I do not regret buying it. If you cook regularly for large families, a larger chopper would be better but if you are preparing for less, I would recommend this product.

ONE OF THE BEST KITCHEN GADGETS
30 December 2022

This was my secret santa present years ago. I think I had seen in on a Delia Smith TV cookery programme and immediately knew I had to have one! Have now had this for several years and am just about to buy one for my daughter. I make humous and pesto regularly and this is perfect for a small amount and quick blending. I use it for breadcrumbs - one slice of bread crumbles in seconds. Use for onions when I want one chopped v small, it's done perfectly. Blending hand-chopped tomatoes, making quick guacamole, or a small amount of vegan mayo. So many uses, can't write them all here. I use this several times a week, every week. During family events e.g. Christmas and Easter I can pass all the chopping and small blending items to someone else to do quietly as a sous chef. ... MoreThis was my secret santa present years ago. Simple and effective
16 September 2023

This little machine was an impulse buy when we noticed it was reduced for clearance. We've been looking for a small chopping machine for a while. This is so simple to use and is extremely effective. You literally fill the machine and press the button. We used it to chop onion and butternut squash. The only thing you have to watch, but this would be true of any similar implement, is that you don't leave it on too long otherwise it turns to mush. It's also easy and simple to clean.

Very compact and very noisy
19 July 2024

This chopper is good quality but overall I am a bit disappointed. The capacity is very small so even chopping a whole onion in one go is a challenge. The blade is very powerful so you have to be very careful if you only want to roughly chop, but it's great for blitzing purées and finely chopping herbs. The lid is very fiddly to get off, and the chopper is extremely noisy when in use, particularly on the fastest setting. It's compact so doesn't take up much space and it washes up nicely.

Soffritto is essential for authentic Bolognese and some curries. I've spent hours finely chopping onions, celery and carrots - until now. Small enough to keep out on the counter and works beautifully. Carrots leave stubborn stains on the plastic but in the instructions there is a fab tip to use a little veg oil and wipe off - magic! (Works for turmeric on plastic containers too). Brilliant piece of kit. Just a bit of advice - be careful with that blade as it's very, very sharp. Be gentle with the container and lid - there are no guidemarks so it's super annoying to remove until you work out your own "method". If you replace it even slightly askew it gets stuck fast - only reason I couldn't give it 5*.I use this several times a week and wish I'd bought it sooner. ... MoreSoffritto is essential for authentic Bolognese and some curries.
