I absolutely LOVE my Kenwood Food Processor attachment. However, since my first purchase in 2017 I have had to get 3 new collection bowls all for the same problem the actual attachment to the machine doesnt last and breaks, making the bowl unusable. I started by making a couple of cakes and within the week I had made two fabulous loaves of bread; something I hadn't managed to achieved pre-Kenwood! It's incredibly intuitive to use and the dial and levers are smooth and satisfying to move. Another great feature is the splash guard which attaches easily, protects perfectly and has a handy window so you can continue to add ingredients as needed. A very useful addition to my stand mixer - I use this much more than the separate food processor I used to have. Perhaps because the stand mixer is out already and I don't have to get another machine out.It's all well made and the metal handle feels nice when you're tipping things out. I like the variety of grating and cutting blades it has. I hardly ever grate anything by hand now. Owned one of these for maybe 4 years, but the central mechanism broke while dicing deli meats, so rather than being able to just replace this part, I had to but the ENTIRE new unit. Now I have 2 of everything which was an unneccessary expense.Kenwood is a very good brand ( I have a 30 yo foodprocessor of theirs that also still works, except the bowl edge cracked). Only dropped to 4 stars because of being unable to replace an individual component.
Fantastic value, very quiet and bowl is large enough for most tasks. Easy to switch between grating in the processor, then using the regular mixing bowl for making savoury muffins for example. Sharp main chopping blade seems to chop evenly. Cleans easily and fully, is well designed - doesnt appear to have seams where food would get stuck. Only downside is no storage box for the six disc slicing/shredding blades that come with it, so Im just using the two cardboard packaging boxes they came in. That would be a good product Kenwood should provide or sell separately, but dont. But for the $99 I paid Im really glad I gave this a go and didnt spend hundreds more on a standalone processor.
Pros: The food Processor is a great helpful tool in the kitchen my Machine is about six years old and I am appalled that Manufacturer was unable to replace this attachment. It is a very expensive piece of equipmentBut very necessaryCons: The central shaft is extremely difficult to take out of the bowl to allow the bowl to be cleaned separately My son-in-law managed to locate me a food processor from a company who deal in spares
Pros: Large and powerful for bread/pizza dough. Lots of attachments. Easy to use, clean.Cons: A better dough hook, may be a spiral? To cut though the dough as week as mix. With the current hook the dough clings to the hook in a ball and needs scraping off regularly during kneading. Not a cake baker and one attempt wasn't good, easy to over beat mixture and tools don't quite reach the bottom/sides, so needs scraping/mixing by hand a little... needs practice.
Pros: Absolutely love this mixer. The bowl is huge, exactly what I needed for making large wedding cakes. The splash guard is particularly useful when making buttercream.Cons: The under side of the bowl has a rim that is tricky to clean or dry.
