Kenwood KAX950ME Food Grinder Attachment

I’ve never had a food mincer before and thus is a solid first mincer. It’s a sturdy build and looks well made. Takes a bit of effort to put it together but being able to pull it all apart makes it easier to clean. It appears to be very safe and all the moving components and well hidden inside once you put it together. I like that it comes with so many different attachments giving it many uses. So far I’ve used it to make falafels by mincing the chickpeas. It worked pretty well but I think I need more practice with it. So far I don’t have any complaints with it. Unfortunately I didn’t get any action shots at the time. I will try and make some sausages etc next time. But so far it’s been a really good food mincer. Not sure if meat will be more difficult but I doubt it.

Good and being metal far better than Kitchen Aid equivalent but sadly Kenwood say "do not wash any part in a dishwasher." This is ridiculous ?? WHY?? Meat traces are best removed in the heat and the whole unit is rendered most sterile. So no, useful but why in a modern world go to stainless steel if no parts can be washed optimally using modern tools ?? It contravenes the ethic of our Kenwood Baker XL which is SUPERB.Can someone explain please?!

I used this mincer attachment to make my own kibbeh mince and wow. I HAVE to say what a life saver! The meat was minced to perfection and clean up was a breeze. Setting up was straightforward and not as daunting as I anticipated! It gave me confidence in the kitchen. I love knowing that I am creating delicious food using such quality equipment. I am amazed at the versatility of this mixer and cannot wait to see what special things other attachments can do!

I've been using the Kenwood Titanium Chef Baker XL Stand Mixer attachment Food Mincer and I'm quite impressed with its durability and performance. The three mincer sizes (small, medium, and XS) add great versatility, and it fits seamlessly with my stand mixer. The design is sleek, and cleaning is manageable, though I occasionally find meat parts left inside. While I might need to refine my technique, overall, this attachment has significantly enhanced my kitchen experience.

Kenwood Food Mincer Attachment

When we bought this 'food mincer’, we thought it’d be great for things like Cornish pasty mixture - ie mincing vegetables and meat. The largest fitting on the food mincing attachment is relatively small and the veg come out kind of ‘mushy’. On looking further, this ‘food mincer’ is more suited to making mince meat - ie mincing beef steak, for example, rather than vegetables. Then we saw that Kenwood has a 'food dicer’ attachment. Our error - if we’d seen that first, we perhaps would've bought it instead of this food mincer. We’re currently considering whether it’s a worthwhile investment of a couple of hundred dollars to get yet another Kenwood attachment that will sit on the bench and be used only a few times a year.

I've had a Kenwood KMC5XX series machine for many years. Someone accidentally put my original meat grinder in the dishwasher (which the user manual says NOT to do!). Kenwood sell an adapter that allows the new design grinder to fit many (not all) old machines. The new grinder works fine and I am very happy with it. I would recommend that you check the Kenwood website (or Customer Service) to ensure this specific grinder will work with your machine prior to ordering.

Save your money

How is anyone giving this a positive review? Is mine faulty or what? I have a Kenwood chef mixer and bought the mincer attachment and it took me over 2 hours before finally giving up and leaving about 10kg of meat diced instead of minced. Even on the coarsest grinding plate, it would clog with sinew and fat CONSTANTLY. Like literally every 20-30 seconds of grinding I'd have to take the whole thing apart and pick all the crap out of the blades then reassemble and start again. I trimmed as much as possible and cut into quite small cubes. I even put a kilo of already minced (from the supermarket) pork through the largest blade and even THAT clogged it up! A mincer that can't mince mince doesn't seem like food value at over $200.
