I was always a little concerned when using my plastic food grinder of food poisoning but now i can put this metal grinder in the freezer first. I made low fat veal, pork and oregano hamburgers which were delicious... and no-one got sick. Now that Summer is almost here I will be making homemade sausages and other BBW delights often which I prefer so I can control the salt content and as we'll be eating that day I don't have to worry about other preservatives and can choose my herbs and spices.

The metal this is made from gets black with tarnish as soon as you wash it. Once that happens, no matter how much you try to scrub it off it will turn everything that touches it black. If you like tarnish stained food, get this one. If you like uncontaminated food, get a plastic one.

We bought this to make our own flavoured mince to hide veggies from the grandchildren and make our own sausages. I absolutely love it. It worked a treat, the grandkids are eating veggies that they don’t like in mince meals and sausages. It’s so easy to use and clean. Can’t imagine not having it now.

I bought this based on other reviews and haven't been disappointed. I have minced various meats and its done it so quickly and efficiently. We use it for falafel too and the grinder worked better than the old food processor. like other people say, it all comes apart, its so easy to clean. Definitely a worthwhile purchase
Purchsed to make sausages with an it was unfortunately missing the blade. Much to my delight Kitchenaid promptly had a replacement sent out to me so I could start putting it to use. First made a 6kg batch of sausages and after following some online tips they turned out to be the best sausages I've eaten. The ease of use as a grinder is really satisfying although I think if I'm to continue making sausages I'll invest in a better way to stuff them. Also made burger patties and even on a course grind the mince was particularly well ground. Not sure if this was operators first time fault but I would've liked the meat to have been a bit more course as it was very well ground. Overall very pleased and will continue to find different ways to use it.
Bitter sweet purchase as I couldn't get the front screw for the smaller plastic KitchenAid food grinder but happy in the end as this is far and away better quality, performance, features. Would easily recommend people spend the extra for this attachment over the smaller plastic one. It's done a few big ragu batches now and next is sausages.
I bought this product about a month ago. Wanted to wait till I had sued a few times before I wrote a review. The grinder attachment is perfect. It comes apart for cleaning. Make sure you use the brush to clean the cylinder. I don't buy mince anymore I make my own. Haven't tried the sausage maker yet. I notes the comments about the plastic version and chose this version so glad I did
I replaced my old “plastic” grinder with this new metal grinder and it’s amazing. Much bigger and stronger. More attachments for all kinds of mince. And it’s easy to make your own sausages. Very happy with this item.
Yesterday I attempted to make breadcrumbs. It was a disaster! The "breadcrumbs" came out like sticky "worms". As per the instructions, I used the finest grater and it took me hours to clean the bread from the tiny holes using a needle to poke the bread through. I couldn't use the bread "worms", threw them away and manually broke the bread up into crumbs. I am very disappointed with this attachment.
Husband and I use it to make sausages. It grinds really well. The stuffing is definitely difficult. Any mixture/texture/wetness is difficult to push down the hole. The black handle gets suctioned in with the mix.Just note it's not dishwasher safe.
