Kerastase Genesis Fondant Renforcateur Conditioner 200ml

I have fine oily hair that is easily weighed down, and to top it off, I'm 6 months post partum, so I've been losing handfuls of hair at a time for the past months. I've been searching for something to give my hair body and help stop the falling, so when I was given the opportunity to try this shampoo and conditioner combo for an honest review, I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, I didn't notice a big difference in my hair using this combo. In fact, it may be more oily than when using other products I've tried. I like the shampoo more than the conditioner because it does have a nice lather and seems like it gets my hair clean. However, the conditioner is clumpy and would not distribute evenly throughout my hair. I followed the instructions with towel drying my hair before applying, but it did not seem to help. I think this may be why my hair still seemed oily and weighed down. I also do not like the packaging. It's hard to get the lid on and off with wet hands in the shower. I would have preferred a pump or flip top lid. Overall, I don't think I recommend this product. I've tried many other conditioners I prefer to this one.

A stop in breakage

I have been using this product for a month, I started to notice less breakage going into week 3 unfortunately shortly after I got COVID and started to lose my hair. It was hard to tell if it would have stopped all the way the breakage. I was using both the shampoo and conditioner. I liked the floral smell and the way my hair felt after washing it, it was silky and smooth. I haven’t tried a product before just for breakage. I have tried hair loss products, this product I did notice a difference faster then other products. I would buy this product, I received both shampoo and conditioner as a free product. Allows for hair growth

Must have! First, the scent is a heavenly treat. It stays with you and so luxurious that you’re reminded for hours that your hair is bathed in these top notch hair health ingredients. I experienced so much less hair fall. I’ve tried so many products and hair oiling etc just everything to get my fine highlighted blonde hair long and healthy. I achieved it with the assistance of this conditioner amongst other Kerastase products. My hair is past my bra strap heading towards waist length now. Conflicted

I’m unsure what to make of the genesis range (shampoo, conditioner, Serum Anti-Chute Fortifiant, Defense Thermique Treatment). I have been using them all, in addition to TRESemme Care & Protect Heat Defence Spray and L'Oréal Haircare Oil, for the past 4 washes. Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum every night also. Pros: My hair is falling out a bit less, granted it’s early days at this stage. And as a result seems to be a bit thicker/ voluminous. I have long dark straight hair which can be quite flat the longer and heavier it is. My hair is shiny, smooth/ soft to a point, and my scalp does feel very clean. The serum doesn’t make my hair greasy, Cons: My hair seems noticeably drier, my partner noticed! The 8HR night serum is, but that’s about it. Overall, I think I will return to using the Olaplex range. I got loads upon loads of complements on my hair when I did, and my hair is not colour treated or damaged really but it still made a significant difference.

Excellent Conditioner

I was sent this product to try but this is my honest review. The conditioner is nice and thick, however it has a strong perfume-y smell to it. I was truly thinking it would be worthless because I hate perfume-y hair products and they typically tend to be really drying. I was quite surprised that this was not the case with the Kerastase! It took several days of using it before I actually felt like it was doing something, so if you try it you’ll want to give it some time. However, after awhile I did notice that my hair felt really strong and even healthier. This boggles my mind because I am still hung up on the scent. Lightweight not greasy

I got this as part a free sample program. I have used it for 6 days so far. I have previously tried similar products that help with hair fall but I have to admit that this one works pretty good and it smells vibrant. It is lightweight, not heavy at all. The accompanying shampoo is also lightweight and not too thick. I have noticed the following benefits from this conditioner: smoothing, not greasy (even after back to back/24 hr use), minimized fly always, minimized hair fall from running my fingers through it, brushing, & shampooing. It is small in size, but that’s pretty typical for most conditioners. If I’m being completely honest, I typically minimize the use of conditioners because they tend to wear my hair down and make it look like I stuck my head in a bucket of grease, this was definitely not the case with this one. Although that was slightly inconvenient for me as often I have fast paced mornings, it was definitely worth the extra step. My hair felt and still feel smooth, and like I said major points for no-fly always or making it look super greasy. I believe that this one will definitely be a keeper, and I hope to continue using it in the next month with the accompanying shampoo. I have already recommended it to family and friends who are experiencing major fall out with other products.

My hair has been resuscitated.

The Kerastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner was a little tricky to use. We're all used to slapping a good amount of conditioner on our heads to feel like our hair is fully coated, with this one we don't have to. It gets a little while to get used to it, but a little really does go a long way. My hair isn't really frizzy or greasy, but it has so much breakage not matter what I did because of previous heat damage. This conditioner really did give my hair some life back. I noticed when I brushed my hair my hair wasn't covered in small parts of the ends of my hair. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is the scent, it is overly scented. I have fine and straight hair, prone to knots. Medium length. Oily scalp and dry ends. My hair is also color-treated (highlights & lowlights). Needless to say, the impact of chemicals on my hair make it very difficult to find a product that balances everything, but I think it is safe to say now I found a keeper with Kerastase Genesis Fondant Renforcateur Conditioner. I’ve been using this product on a daily basis and it has proven to be a good option for my type of hair, bringing the volume and silkiness I’ve been longing for. Seeing improvements was a relief! I use it from mid shaft to ends because of my oily scalp. Leave in my hair from 2-3 min as recommended and magic is done! Sulfate free. If you suffer with rosacea, the AAD recommends this type of product because sulfate can irritate the skin and may lead to symptoms on your scalp as well as on your face, shoulders, and back. PROS: Lightweight. Lathers up nicely just like the shampoo, and it makes my hair shiny, silky and bouncy. Hair feels stronger as well. CONS: Just like the shampoo, it has a sweet and powdery sort of smell. It’s not bad to be honest…. It is just not my favorite scent. Also, $44 for a 6.8oz conditioner is out of my price range. Overall, I do recommend this product because it is doing a great a good job restoring the damage, resulted from coloring my hair for so long. The shampoo/conditioner combo really delivers! I liked both the conditioner and shampoo, but for me the scent is way too strong. Fragrances in products can be a polarizing sort of thing. I know some of my friends who would love this scent, but I am not one of them. It has a sweet floral scent. The shampoo and conditioner both applied very easily throughout my fine hair (though have a lot of it) however. Sometimes shampoos can be more concentrated making them difficult to really distribute well, but not the case with this one. The condition also had the right amount of slip to it to evenly apply though the length of my hair. Neither of these products weighed down my hair. Seeing I cannot get past the strong scent, I cannot confirm how well this supports hair from breakage. I received this product as part of a free sample program. I have oily and medium to coarse textured hair. I really liked this product and had a great experience with it. I tend to wash my hair in the evening and then have quite oily hair towards the end of the next day - when using this, I noticed a slight decrease of greasiness (especially on my bang and crown/root area) after using this product. After brushing my hair, I noticed about a 10% decrease in hair left on my brush. I felt like this product did not weigh my hair down as much as others - visually, my hair looked a bit more voluminous; physically, my hair felt more light.
