Kilner Genuine Preserve Jar - 500ml

Bought the jars as I often do the mean grean diet using plastic gym shakers which never get the stain off. I had spent a while trying to locate a reasonably priced glass alternative. These kilner jars easily manage to keep the juice inside with no leakage on my 25 mile trip to work each day. To clean the lids I was with soapy water and let air dry whilst the jars come out clean as a whistle from the dishwasher. Very happy with these compact jars.

I love them. I use them for everything. Very strong and easy to clean. I sterilised them in hot water over the stove when they arrived and I also dropped it by accident from a high place and it didnt break. Very strong I truly love them. I use them for storing fresh juice, fresh dairy free milk etc.

All glass jars work well and I have had no serious issues with them. I used 4 jars t pickle hot peppers and 2 jars for a tomato paste I made and have now sitting in my fridge. My only gripe is the lids feel a little flimsy and cheap. However, they still screw on and I believe airtight. Dont screw them too tightly as I got the feeling the thread may break I didnt try.The process of sterilisation is quick and I was able to wash the glass Kilner jars in hot soapy water, rinse with warm water, then place in 110c oven for about 8 minutes until they were dry and sterilised. They withstand that heat well.I would recommend these jars for sauces, pastes, and small pepper pickling. Maybe keep an eye on the lid when you are screwing it up, and dont fill to the brim.

Love these kilner jars. I have several, and the 1l ones too. I use them to drink out of, cocktails look fantastic in them too.Most glasses arent large enough but these jars look wonderful and are quite small for the amount they hold. Cant imagine drinking from normal glasses anymore I bought plastic lids from amazon too which fit both sizes.

Nice looking Jar. Feels fantastic quality. The lid again visually nice looking.Purchased to make overnight oats in. Wotked very well. Perfect sizing.Sadly the jar itself cracked on first use of putting in hot jam. So had to throw it away.Not sure if I had a faulty one. But I would not purchase this make again.

This product is unsuitable for hot liquids and potentially dangerous. I would expect to be able to use a genuine Kilner jar for jam or preserves. I poured hot milk into one of these to make yogurt and the bottom fell out. Fortunately I was holding the jar over the sink, otherwise I would have been badly burned. Please dont use this for anything hot. I dont think this product is genuine

BRILLIANT SIZE JARS FOR 2

HAVING ALWAYS USED THE 1 LITRE SIZE JARS IN THE PAST, NOW THAT WE ARE A REDUCED HOUSEHOLD THE 0.5L JARS ARE EXACTLY RIGHT FOR THE VARIOUS PRESERVES I DO EVERY YEAR. THEY ALSO MAKE GOOD STORAGE JARS FOR DRY GOODS IN THE CUPBOARD. CAN'T PRAISE HART'S SERVICE HIGHLY ENOUGH, EFFICIENT AND ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP WITH A PROBLEM

Dubious about the details

I have a 350ml preserve jar bought from Ocado, but I wanted a bigger jar. Emptied the 350ml into the supposed 500ml and there was no difference. Its a decent jar, but it seems I paid more for the same size.

Kilner Screw Top Preserve Jar 500ml

The glass itself is beautiful and sturdy, so overall I like it very much. But, and this a big one, the lid is not a longlasting one. I bought it in April and I use the jars only for nurturing my sourdough, but after 2 months and roughly 6 washes by hand, it has rust on it. It is a shame as otherwise, I would love to recommend it, but with the current quality of the lid, I cant.

Review of Preserve Jar 0.5 Litre

They were exactly what I wanted for my cooking. Hopefully they will live up to expectation and store the chutneys well. Sterilisation information would be good; not sure what to do with the lids? I have looked on the website which does have a lot of excellent information, still not sure what to do with the lids,
