The Kindle paperwhite is a fantastic product for reading books on the go anywhere. Easily readable in any conditions , I was even able to see the text in full sunlight without a problem. The battery life is amazing I only have to charge the kindle after weeks of regular use. I don't have to worry about accidentally getting it wet due to its waterproof rating. The device is light and easy to hold. I have bought one for my parents who are in their 70's and they love it as its lighter than a normal book and doesn't hurt their wrists to hold it for long periods of time like a normal book does. An enjoyable step up

Bought to replace my existing Paperwhite that was getting very slow and not holding a charge. The special offer by John Lewis made the decision easy.There will be plenty of technical reviews about the new features including the wamer lighting and the increased screen size. (achieved by narrower margins). I will just mention a couple of things I love.The set up. With the kindle app on your phone it is just a matter of turning that on and choosing 'new device'. Put them side by side and let them do the work.The pages turn so fast I find myself checking to see if they really did turn. Great Product

My optometrist recommended that I get a kindle instead of reading on my ipad. Better for your eyes. Since I got my first ipad years ago my eyesight has continued to worsen significantly each year. I told my optometrist this, He said it is because of the ipad and it’s light. Besides reading real books the Kindle is the next best type of reading for your eyes and recommended I get one. Kindle Paperwhite compared with old Kindle.

Seems so far to be good and good value for money. Reliable, light and easy to handle, however the old Kindle still has some merit for two reasons.1. Jury is still out on the new triple layer screen type that lights the display at night and not quite as easy on the eyes as the old Kindle e ink screen, even when adjusting display settings it still seems like it has a bit of glare back at your eyes. Having said that the flipside of this is you don't have a clip on light hanging off your device. So maybe it is a better idea to have the light integrated but need to get used to it. Certainly still way better than any Tablet or Laptop.2. My Second Kindle

I like the new Kindle. It's lightweight and easy to use, just like the Kindle Oasis I have. Amazon has a promotion for three months of free Kindle Unlimited that comes with this new Kindle, and I like that; giving me a chance to try it out before I decide whether to continue the subscription after three months. The backlights are more comfortable for my eyes, and the reading experience is as good as, if not better than, my Kindle Oasis. I only charged it once, and I was glad that it used a USB-C charging cable instead of the old one (I thought it would be the same charging cable as my Kindle Oasis, but no, it was a different, faster one). I accidentally purchased it once before, and it was around $289, and I had to contact The Good Guys immediately to ask for a full refund. I chose to pick it up in-store to save the postage, and I knew the area, so it was convenient for me to collect it on the weekends. It took them a bit of time to find the new Kindle I bought, but it was all good.

NOT HAPPY!

I'm very disappointed with my new Kindle Paperwhite 11th Gen - the screen isn't paper white, it's a pale orange colour. Here's a photo of my two Kindle Paperwhites. On the left my older device, registered in 2015; on the right my new one registered December 2022. There is no warming set on the new one in this photo, and it's on the latest software version. I read lots of these reviews before I bought, which suggested the screen was much better than previous versions. Mine clearly isn't! I'd like to know if my Kindle is faulty, or is this the best I can expect? Outstanding e-reader

The new Kindle is a brilliant e-reader. It's fantastic for those who like to change the orientation and be able to select dark mode as well. It's lightweight, a perfect size for a handbag, has a thinner border and adjustable warm light, and because it's purpose-built for reading, it reads like real paper, even in sunlight. Great, therefore, for taking outside into the sun for a relaxing afternoon. I love the faster page turns as I'm a fast reader. Most impressive is the 10 weeks of battery life. Apparently, this version is now waterproof (for accidental immersion), but I haven't tested that theory as yet. Truly a fabulous purchase. I would recommend this to everyone who loves to read but enjoys the options of multiple books/magazines on the one device.

Replacement for an Older Model

This was purchased as a replacement for an aging previous model, which incidentally was still working but there were concerns about future support. It has a different feel to the older model being much lighter and without a keyboard. It is lightweight. It has good back lighting. No separate charger, just needs plugging into a USB socket. Will also charge via a computer. If buying for an older person it might take a bit of getting used to but if they are familiar with using a Smartphone or tablet they soon get used to it. Easy to download new books to the device.

The 8GB is more than adequate for almost everyone, unless you read illustrated comics or graphic magazines.The font and text size adjustments mean I can read without my glasses without eye strain. The best investment a reader can make.

This has completely changed my reading life! I work in publishing and read a lot of manuscripts, and Kindle can convert a PDF to a readable ebook file better than any other e-reader I've ever used. The battery life is sensational. I use my Kindle daily and charge it roughly once a month. The screen light never makes my eyes feel tired and sometimes I forget I'm looking at a screen. I like knowing how far through a book I am and manuscripts aside, the Kindle store is great. The pricing is always very competitive and Kindle Unlimited is a fun way to discover new authors. It also makes travelling a breeze. I am one very happy customer.
