My order arrived today. The pasta roller was not operational, and dirty from, I am assuming, previous owner trying to use it. My understanding of refurbished is that the product is supposed to be clean and in working condition. This item is neither. Extremely disappointed with KitchenAid.Tried to return it, but there's no option for a broken item. And I don't want someone else to buy this broken pasta roller after me, since quality control at KitchenAid is not existent.

Got a new KA mixer and pasta attachments for Christmas. My son, who usually makes pasta by hand, tried the machine and absolutely loved it. Between mixing the dough in the mixer and then switching over to the rollers made it so much easier for homemade pasta. He made fettuccine and the quality is very consistent. He liked it so much he wanted one for his apartment. So we got him one! Next up, spaghetti!

Since I have had this product for a very long time, I know how to use it and I can say the design and functions are very good and the instructions and well written.I got this product almost 2 years ago. Manufacturing defect with the pasta roller.
27 December 2022

I bought this 3-piece set about 2 1/2 years ago. Over that period of time we have used the roller about half a dozen times. Use the mixer a lot but the pasta roller usually for special occasions. The last time that we used the roller it had stopped rolling the pasta. I made sure that it was fastened tightly to the unit, and it was. When I opened up the roller unit the roller mechanism had snapped off and therefore not allowing it to turn. It looks like it wasn't welded properly. With this unit not functional it makes the 2 cutter units useless. This should not happen after just 6 uses!

Spaghetti Cutter Jams
30 January 2023

Hello, I have had this set for a little under a year. We love making pasta sheets and fettuccine, however, the spaghetti cutter is something else. I just read through all the reviews and my issue is the exact same. We have tried to use the spaghetti cutter 5 times. Each time the dough does not go through and just jams up the cutter. The last 2 times we spend DAYS picking out all the dough that was stuck in the cutter. The last time i realized the plastic teeth had fallen out. They are impossible to get back in and I snapped one in the process. I am super disappointed, especially after seeing all these reviews after the fact. I am not sure if the part is defective as others have mentioned or if it just sucks.

This attachment is so worth it
27 January 2023

I bought this attachment for my mother's birthday and she absolutely loves it. It makes the process of making homemade pasta so easy that we've been doing it on a weekly basis, if not more. I highly recommend getting both attachments (roller and cutter) as it allows you to do so much. We've made ravioli, lasagna sheets and fettuccine so far. It also helps a lot with meal prepping as it makes the process a lot faster. You are not going wrong buying this.

Works great!
19 October 2022

I picked up the refurbished pasta roller/cutter set shortly after buying my kitchenaid mixer. When it came in the box it was in was a mess, like some other reviewers noted it looked like it had been kicked around and was just generally in rough shape. That being said the pasta roller and cutters were in great shape. No signs of rust, discoloration, damage, anything. I have since used them to make spaghetti a couple of times, and while I need to work on my dough recipe, they worked great! I was worried cleaning them was going to be a problem because you can't immerse them in water but I have found that brushing them off the best I can right after use, then letting the little bit of dough that left dry out makes it so with a quick shake or two anything that is left in ... MoreI picked up the refurbished pasta roller/cutter set shortly after buying my kitchenaid mixer. After that I wipe them down with a damp towel and they are good and clean. So far I am finding the dough doesn't stick to the roller or cutters very much, making sure to lightly dust the dough with flour as needed makes a difference. I have found that a dusting is absolutely necessary before passing the rolled out dough through the cutter. The first time I used the cutter the dough stuck together terribly coming out of the cutter, but after trying again with a good dusting of flour very little stuck together or to the cutter itself. So far I'm very happy with my purchase.

I expected a refurbished product to be in much better shape than this. And I'm guessing I'm not the first person to return this particular item. There's a "refurbished" label that's supposed to seal the box; it had been torn open and looked like it had been kicking around that way for quite some time. When I took the pieces out of the box, they had flakes of something all over them - rust-colored, but not as heavy as rust. I don't know what they were. I brushed off as much as I could and was about to try washing them, when I read in the manual that the rollers shouldn't be immersed in water. Two of the pieces also appeared to be damaged; one had plastic peeling off, and the other had metal bars that I'm sure weren't supposed to be wavy.
