My boyfriend gifted me this and the mini food processor. The first time I used this mixer, I was absolutely blown away. I have NEVER owned any kitchenaid items, and when he surprised me with it I was FLOORED. It's so quiet!! I made whipped cream in under 45 seconds!!! My last mixer, it truly took a solid 4-5 minutes!! I am officially in love with kitchenaid, & have my eye on the small stand mixer for SURE.

Simple, easy to reach controls, cord that keeps it out of the way no matter what side you're mixing from and quiet when mixing in a metal bowl, wow, what a treat! Low speed is actually low, everything doesn't fly out of the bowl on low. I read through almost every mixer on Amazon looking for one made in the USA that I could afford and had high ratings before I found my Kitchen Aide. All the others were made in China!! No thanks! I'm an American who supports America! Thank you, Kitchen Aide!

Additional features that I like are the way the cord can be moved out of the way and locked into place and that it will stand nicely on its end. I used this mixer for a variety of recipes and it performed great. I finally found its limit when I tried making meringues. It frothed eggs no problem but couldn't quite get a double batch of the egg and sugar mixture to form stiff peaks. I really love this mixer. I always get nervous to first turn it on because my last mixer would immediately get flower and sugar all over my kitchen even on the low setting; this one does not. It mixes perfectly w/ NO mess. I love that the beaters are covered in silicone so they don't damage my plastic bowls. I recommend this if you need one or if you are like me and using it as a stepping stone to a stand mixer.
I bought this hand mixer after many years of using my Kitchenaid Artisan 7 speed hand mixer. The old hand mixer works great, but one of the beaters broke where it attaches to the base. After trying the new hand mixer I am disappointed. It feels lighter, a bit cheap, the controls feel clunkier and harder to read, the cord attachment on the underside is annoying and catches on the bowl. I really wish I would have tracked down new beaters for my old favorite mixer.
We own many Kitchen Aid appliances large and small. I purchased this hand mixer to replace my old one that lasted over 10 years. I was somewhat disappointed in this one. It is extremely light weight and the flex beaters are a bit cumbersome and do not really mix well. The storage option is also a bit odd. I am keeping the beaters in there drawer where they have always been.
I had purchased a different brand hand mixer and the motor burned out the first time I used it, so I was leery about hand mixers in general. I have been so happy with my KitchenAid stand mixer so I took a chance on this one. It’s turned out well. This mixer is sturdy and up to the tasks for a hand mixer. And the blue color is very pretty. And I love my orange stand mixer, too. Good colors, good mixers.
I’ve made three batches of (different) cookies and two icings far. I haven’t used the whisk attachment yet, but I love the rubber edge beaters for cookies. The dough is a bit more difficult to get off the heaters than a full metal beater, but it’s so much quieter because of the rubber and I don’t need to use my spatula much at all to combine the ingredients around the edge or bottom of the bowl. So happy to have multi speed too. My las Hand mixer had only one speed which lead to puffs of flour and powdered sugar everywhere.

I like to whip up my cake batters to bake fluffier cakes, so this is really nice to have on hand in the kitchen. The mixer isn't heavy at all, it is only about 3lbs or so.
