A bit of a disappointment

I really like that it's cordless, light, and quiet. But it's not really up to the task of making my normal large batch of chocolate chip cookies. Took too long to cream the sugar and butter. Then did not mix the dough thoroughly even after a longish period. The worst part was the brown sugar had some lumps that it did not break up due to what I assume is poor design of the beaters. I had to go through and break up the pea sized and larger clumps with my fingers, and even then some made it through to the finished cookies. I am going to order the flex edge beater attachments to see if they do any better, but if they don't, I will be sorry I did not save the box to return this.

Easy to use but not much power

I wanted an alternative from my KitchrnSif stand mixer for mixing small amounts of ingredients, and this mixer does fit the bill. I didn't expect it to be as powerful as the stand mixer, but I'm still a little disappointed that it doesn't have much "juice." Works fine for cake batter, eggs, pancake mix. But I wouldn't try to whip egg whites with it. The hand mixer is easy to hold, however, and I like that its design allows it to stand on end when it is charging or I need to set it down. With reservations, I'd recommend it to others as a handy tool for light mixing.

The Kitchen Aid Cordless Hand Mixer adds flexibility in the kitchen that I didn’t think I needed - It makes a huge difference being cord-free! For starters, the design is plastic with a matte black finish that looks great and feels like it will hold up to some abuse. The mixer has a flat bottom which allows it to stand by itself over a bowl. I believe plastic was a design choice to minimize weight and this pays off because it did not seem to weigh more than my corded mixer even with the addition of the lithium batteries. It doesn’t seem like the battery is removable, I hope that there are service options in the future replace the battery if it gets to that point to avoid throwing away and replacing the product.Out of the box there is the mixer, two helical ... MoreThe Kitchen Aid Cordless Hand Mixer adds flexibility in the kitchen that I didn’t think I needed - It makes a huge difference being cord-free! It doesn’t seem like the battery is removable, I hope that there are service options in the future replace the battery if it gets to that point to avoid throwing away and replacing the product.Out of the box there is the mixer, two helical beaters, and a charge adapter. There is a button on the hand mixer to eject the beaters and a slider for power. Integrated into the power slider is the port for charging which disables the slider. This seems unfortunate since you cannot use the mixer and charge it at the same time, however I believe the battery life makes this a none issue. I had no issues making mashed potatoes, whipping egg whites, and making whipped iced coffee all in one kitchen session. Leaving the mixer to run it took an insane 1 hour on speed 6 before the battery ran dry. If you are a power user, I was able to get it back to a full charge in 2 hrs. While the charger is not inconvenient, one handed operation can be tricky. It would be beneficial to have a charging dock that the mixer sat on so that you could simply lift pick it up rather than fiddle with the power adapter.Like other Kitchen Aid mixing products, it has a slow start that helps prevent splatter and throwing your dry ingredients out of your bowl. I felt that the 7 speed options offered a good range of power. Low was just the right speed to gently mix ingredients and high was suitable for applications like whipped cream and egg whites where you are trying to incorporate as much air as possible for a fluffy texture.Overall, the performance and battery life make this a great replacement to an existing corded mixer with power to handle everything from mashed potatoes to thick buttercream. The added capability of being cordless is (pun intended) the icing on the cake.

Great cordless mixer
26 July 2023

Have only had the mixer for a short time, but got to use it a few days ago and was very much impressed with it. Made a large batch of cookie dough with ease. Was hesitant at first it would mix such a stiff rescipe, but had no issues doing so! So nice not having the cord constantly in the way. The lowest setting is great for getting all the powdered ingredients mixed without all the blow back that an electric powered mixer creates. It is a tiny bit heavy, but nothing so great as to create an issue for the user that I can see. Definitely recommend.

Horrible product!
19 March 2023

At first I was giddy to have this. Slow start, no cord and quiet. Not having a cord is amazing! But then I realized, just how little power this has. It can't get through cookie dough. Then the beaters started clanking together, and would fall out occasionally. And then today, one of the beaters just broke in half while making pumpkin bars. The better for that is pretty liquidly so I found it pretty pathetic it broke on that. I'd been hating this item for awhile, but was too tainted by the brand name to do anything about it, making all sorts of excuses for it's poor performance. Don't buy, even the freedom of no cord is not worth the price. It's just junk.

Is okay but mashed potatoes not really "mashed"
31 December 2022

Item works well with liquid substances. I have made many items with this hand mixer. The more liquid the better for the item to work. Making hand-made mashed potatoes it took about 10+ minutes for them to be "mashed". I still feel/taste they were a bit "lumpy". There is no boost upon the item which I feel would have helped with this issue. I do love the cordless feature which is amazing as not having to wash off the cord. Item holds a charge very long for my needs.

Mixer Bitter brakes

We didn't use this mixer a lot, maybe 5 times in a year and were very upset that one of the mixer's mixing heads broke - got detached. We now have to shop for new parts.I don't recommended this mixer:1. we can't reach KitchenAid's service support for parts replacement.2. the part is not easy to find and not cheap to buy. (about 25$ from Amazon plus shipping) which is half the price from original price for this mixer.3. over all performance not the greatest as was expected and compared to a cheap WalMart mixer.

Terrible ergonomics for a short person
10 March 2023

I am 5'2" tall. The problem with this mixer is how tall it is. It's several inches taller than my older handheld mixer. I bought it because I have arthritis in my shoulder and back, and thought it might be an upgrade for when I mix things that I usually mix with a spoon. It's not, really. It weighs about the same, but I have to hold my arm so much higher (when mixing on a standard height counter) that I'm in more pain than if I just mixed it by hand. I might be able to use it on a lower table, but that's not an option in my kitchen.

I bought this a beautiful red mixer a month ago & l’m SO delighted with its design & functionality .Being cordless it can be used not only quickly but anywhere in your kitchen without being restricted to a space near a power outlet. It is light & comfortable to hold & use for longer periods of mixing . It is very sturdily built & tackles with ease anything you want to do , from beating egg whites to more robust tasks like meatloaf. The beaters are easy to fit & are a good quality thick metal to easily handle the more robust jobs. I LOVE the feature the mixer has of being designed to stand on its end so that the beaters can be positioned over the bowl while preparing other ingredients at various stages of mixing. It’s easy to use & easy to clean & a delight to use ... MoreI bought this a beautiful red mixer a month ago & l’m SO delighted with its design & functionality .Being cordless it can be used not only quickly but anywhere in your kitchen without being restricted to a space near a power outlet. It is light & comfortable to hold & use for longer periods of mixing . Useful device.
14 January 2023

I bought this to replace an old corded hand mixer that had seen better days. I haven't used it very often so far, but it's been great. The flexibility of being able to use it anywhere in the kitchen--instead of within a few feet of a power outlet--is just wonderful. I have a small kitchen, and this cordless model means that someone can work at the table while another person works at the counter. In the past, people would have been jammed together at the counter. If that sort of flexibility of movement is important to you, a cordless handmixer will be useful.
