I purchased this to keep my tablet safe. I use an iOS app for my Virtual Instrument and directly connect the audio from tablet to mixer. Now just to keep my tablet safe from accidental phantom power, i put this in between. so far, it's working as it should. given the advantage also that the output side is an xlr gives more length for my cable needs.
