Great bag, you can fit a lot of tools in this bag. I haven’t used it for very long but it’s been great so far. Plenty of pockets, it’s sturdy and comfortable to throw on your shoulder. Couple small things I personally would add to it would be more places to clip D rings onto, longer lanyard to hold tape and a reinforced pocket for a skinning knife.

Almost Perfect

I received the Klein tool backpack quickly and the price was fair. Once unpackaged, I went ahead and loaded up my electrical tools into it. Everything fit nicely, except for the longer Klein screw drivers. I wish the pockets would have been a bit deeper to accommodate them. Other than that little flaw, I think the design is over all exceptional.

Almost a year ago, I started looking into backpacks that would be able to carry the most "commonly used" tools and I skipped on this one because it was too small even though it has 39 pockets. I ended up purchasing the Milwaukee Ultimate Jobsite Backpack and I loved that it could carry a lot of tools...until I had to lug it around a few blocks on several occasions. It could carry way too many tools. I decided to purchase the next size down version, the Milwaukee Jobsite Backpack. At first I didn't really like the Jobsite Backpack because it doesn't have a clip for a tape measure nor does it have a hardened case compartment for safety glasses. So for a couple weeks, it just carried some of the lesser-used tools just so I could distribute the weight between both ... MoreAlmost a year ago, I started looking into backpacks that would be able to carry the most "commonly used" tools and I skipped on this one because it was too small even though it has 39 pockets. So for a couple weeks, it just carried some of the lesser-used tools just so I could distribute the weight between both backpacks. Unfortunately, my Ultimate Jobsite backpack was stolen from my truck, so I had no choice but to use it the smaller one on a daily basis. Almost a year later and I absolutely love the Milwaukee Jobsite Backpack. It has enough compartments, including pockets for more than enough tools with a very well thought-out design. During this whole time, I have acquired more tools so that is why I am looking into another backpack that will be dedicated solely for electrician tools. Which brings me back to this Tradesman Pro Organizer Backpack. Most of my tools are made by Milwaukee but as far as electrician tools are concerned, most of them are made by Klein, so I wanted to carry them in a Klein backpack. I figured that the Milwaukee Jobsite backpack can continue to carry a stubby hammer, level, drill, impact driver, adjustable wrench, needle nose pliers, metric and standard screwdrivers, aviation snips, sciccors, drill bit sets, markers, pencils, boot covers, gloves, vice grips, etc. I figured that this Tradesman Pro Organizer Backpack could handle carrying wire stripppers, linesman pliers, 7-in-1 driver, meter, circuit breaker finder, adapters, SlimJaw wrench, curved long nose pliers, fish tape, electrical tape, etc. Anyway, I purchased this Klein Tradesman Pro Organizer Backpack today and was excited to load it up with the aforementioned tools until I noticed the weird design of the zipper. After I had my tools in there, I had a hard time getting the back to stand upright when I unzipped the compartment all the way. Then again, that's the only way you can effectively remove your tools from the pockets. Some of the pockets are so small to be effective at carrying anything at all. I believe that Klein focused too much on the number of pockets than the quality and logical placement of the pockets. I'm going to return this not because the backpack is too small but because of the useless small pockets stacked in front of useful pockets that once filled with a tool put too much strain on the adjacent pockets. At this point, I'm going to purchase another Milwaukee Jobsite backpack because that has been designed much better than this one.

The padded shoulder straps are not just sewn into the bag seam - they are mega reinforced onto structural tabs that go into the bag and have a chest cross strap to hold things in place. The two outer pockets on the back have heavy duty zippers and the top one is reinforced to hold delicate gear but most people will probably use for cell phones and cords. Love the METAL loop on the side to hold a tape measure tab! The bag opens to the tool storage area with two bi-directional heavy duty zippers - none of the cheap single zipper crap here. Open it a little or a lot and the zippers hold in place. Perfect for holding that tool thats just a couple inches too long for the bag. On both sides there are Kevlar style material pockets with Velcro tabs for multi-tools, folding knives, hex kits, bits and drivers. Add to that plent of reinforced loops to hold pliers, wrenches and the like. Whomever designed this bag has definitely lived the life and walked the walk! They did their research and talked to tradesmen about our needs, wants and disappointments. Guys - THIS is the bag you want to generate envy amongst your work buddies. Ladies - THiS is the gift you want to get for your guy to prove that you get him (and to get back at him for rolling his eyes every time you wander off into a purse or shoe discussion with your friends). Get the point across to your Neanderthal partner that this is the Prada, Kate Spade or Laboutin of tool bags!

Im coming from a dewalt back pack. It had a zipper flaw and gave out a year in. Read the reviews before buying another one and found many people had the same zipper issue. That brings me to the Klein back pack. Seems pretty durable (so did the dewalt) have had no issues as far as quality at this point. Ive had it for about 4 months. My hang up with the Klein is you cant put any power tools inside with the tool pockets filled. If you dont put any tools in the inside pouches you can get your drill in there but thats ridiculous. You still need to carry another bag for power tools and its very frustrating. I cant zip up the bag fully if I put my 12v dewalt impact in there. 18-20v Toolsnot going to happen. Most of the time I dont bother carrying the bag at all.

Lazy main pocket
7 April 2024

Overall, I like it but, what’s disappointing is…with the main part of the bag fully unzipped, the front lays down perpendicular to the back. Or at least, that’s the way All the photos made it seem as though the back part of the main pocket was reinforced enough that if you unzipped it completely it would remain standing vertically while the front of that main pocket lays down perpendicular to the back. However, regardless of how I store my tools in it (whether it be lighter ones in the back or heavier ones in the back) it always falls over forward on top of the front of that main pocket. You have to hold the back of the main pocket open with one hand and grab whichever tool you were after with the other. I wouldn’t purchase this again.

Poor design, disappointment

I’m a professional plumber and boilerman and I picked up this Klein toolbag to replace a Milwaukee Jobsite Backpack (which Home Depot no longer carries in stores) that had lasted about two years. The Klein backpack is a disappointment. It has less capacity than the Milwaukee bag, which I knew when I bought it, but that turned out to be the least of my headaches. My main complaint is the zipper design. This bag needs the zipper to be fully open or closed. Opening the zipper partway to grab an easily accessible tool visibly creates a ton of stress on the zipper. Even used properly there’s still stress put on the zipper. While the overall construction of the bag seems comparable to my previous Milwaukee bag, which is a compliment, this poor zipper design makes me ... MoreI’m a professional plumber and boilerman and I picked up this Klein toolbag to replace a Milwaukee Jobsite Backpack (which Home Depot no longer carries in stores) that had lasted about two years. The Klein backpack is a disappointment. That is unacceptable.Another gripe is that while this backpack has a great built-in multimeter case, it doesn’t easily fit anything more than the standard leads. For a brand like Klein marketed at electricians it’s disappointing that this bag doesn’t have designed storage for additional leads.I’ve also had a lot of issues with tools not staying in their slots driving around. My previous bag never had this issue. It’s frustrating when you get to a job, open your bag, and screwdrivers are everywhere.I would not recommend this bag. I ended up throwing mine in the dustbin and bought a better bag at a different store.

Quality backpack.
3 February 2024

I used this backpack for 3+ years, and it held up fairly well. One of the zippers on the front pocket got stuck. It was still completely functional though since the other side of the pocket was still usable. A couple of the grips on the large pocket zipper started to break down, but the actual zipper still worked. That being said the rest of the backpack is in phenomenal condition. I feel like for the price point it was the best option.

Job background: Facilities manager for a large building, and a journeyman low volt technicianIf you're not going to be in one spot all day, you going to need something to carry around all your tools in or you'll be making excessive time-wasting trips. Whether that be a cart on a building with a working elevator or hoist, or a tool bag on a job where you'll be going up and down stairs often, you'll likely end up with the same problem in the end; maneuverability (carts), or fatigue (very heavy tool bags). This bag seemingly solves all those problems, as I've been able to load essentially all the hand tools I'll need for a job into one bag and do whatever I need to, not worrying about having to get around something with a cart or not having 2 hands to carry something ... MoreJob background: Facilities manager for a large building, and a journeyman low volt technicianIf you're not going to be in one spot all day, you going to need something to carry around all your tools in or you'll be making excessive time-wasting trips. If you're in an electrical trade, you're going to find a way to use every single one of these pockets. The 4 bit sleeves in the bag are a nice touch, and a pair of safety glasses fits well into the pouch on the front of the bag. If you're working in new construction, the amount of tools you can throw into this bag is going to save you a lot of trips to the van/jobsite tool box (both of which are probably on another floor). The other huge selling point to me is the weight distribution this bag offers. Instead of carrying a tool bag in one hand and whatever else in the other, you're spreading the majority of the weight evenly across your body (trust me tradies, your spine will thank you in the future)The big caveat with this bag; you can't load a lot of power tools into it. (14in bag) If you need something with space for power tools, you may wish to look at some of Klein's larger or different style bags, as I've only ever fit a drill and an impact at once into this bag, and for some trades that just won't do the trick.

This is a pretty darn nice bag! I've never used a tool pack before so getting one was pretty exciting. I expected a standard backpack but the materials here are very nice. I love the glasses pouch, I keep glasses in there, could you have guessed? Also it occasionally houses connectors or CPU's if I'm transporting anything fragile. Loaded down with just about every tool I need for the day it maintains a nice 23-25 pounds, and thats with all my meters, driver kits, pliers and an 18v drill with 5ah battery. Mind you it took a little expert packing to get it zipped up without stressing the zippers but it fits perfectly now and everything is where it makes sense. I'm splicing RJ45's and taking apart security cameras at rates never before achieved by myself. I love this ... MoreThis is a pretty darn nice bag! If you need a relatively light load-out (I normally see folks with bags up towards 50 pounds) then this is the bag for you. All it lacks is a laptop sleeve and a place for my big notebook but I carry a separate laptop bag for that since I only need a laptop occasionally. Go for it. It's wonderful.
