I replaced a good Polk PSW 10" sub with this 8" sub and it has deeper base, more power and a better/cleaner power supply. It is primarily for my home theater system in a large (15'x17') living room with 15' ceiling: 70" Sony 1080p/Harman Kardon AVR-3600 receiver/Infinity TSS 1200 5.1 AV speakers. The original 12" Infinity stopped functioning, and this 8" Klipsch sub is insignificantly close in performance to the 12" when it was new. Again, it is cleaner, and has more "thump/rumble" than the Polk 10" sub I had been using since the 12" died, and it does not break up and distort like the 10" did even when at higher output levels.

My subwoofer lasted a year before it broke. Klipsch sent me a replacement board that lasted 6 months. Now I am stuck with a sub that doesn't work due to electronics. No one answers the phone when I call and my messages go unanswered. Very disappointed since I have been a life long fan. I guess I will be buying another complete subwoofer which seems like such a waste since only the electronics are the problem.

I'm using a Denon X1600H with Jamo home cinema system (with S 606 floorstanding speakers). The AVR has 150W output on each channel. Sound quality in listening to mainly Jazz, blues, and rock music is paramount to me. Using Tidal, I'm very satisfied with the quality and depth this subwoofer brings along. For movies, it's a blast to watch & hear the blast scenes as this subwoofer DEFINITELY delivers (read: huge thumps on chest, rumble on the floor, tears in your eyes, etc.). Unless you have a dedicated home theater room, or you're looking to piss off your wife for no reason, look no further and buy this subwoofer.

I brought this Sub a couple years ago now, done a great job but thought I was missing out so went with another brand 12 inch and the sound was loub but very washy and muddy went back to the 8" and things cleared up instantly. If you listen to Heavy double bass metal music its great for quick recovery to get the most from the Bass drums.Only Con is there is a loud pop when turning the sub on so dont use the auto off feature just leave on.
Great smaller sub-woofer that is a perfect match for either powered or non powered bookshelf speakers. I have this paired with my Klipsch R-15PM speakers and it sounds phenomenal. The bass is deep but not overpowering and it doesn't take long to set your crossover frequency and level to find that perfect sweet spot. Best upgrade to my system ever. As long as you match this with the correct speakers you can't go wrong.
Great subwoofer for the money. Especially when Best Buy had it on sale for $150.00 off. Perfect for a smaller room but I think it would also work in a bigger room too. Love the auto on feature. I also love that the speaker points towards the floor so I don't have to look at that ugly copper colour speaker. Thats one thing that always kept me from buying Klipsch. But glad I bought this one. Sounds great.
Wow! Night and day compared to the cheap "subwoofer" I was temporarily using from my now surplus 2.1 PC speakers. This thing thumps...in a good way. Looks new, same warranty and return policy as new, sounds great, and I saved $170 because it was open box stock. It easily, if not annoyingly, rattles the venetian blinds in my office during the deep bass passages in Joni Mitchell's soulful remake of "Both Sides Now" and that's with the subwoofer set at half volume and the lower frequency settings on the PC's graphic equalizer turned down about 3 db from their previous settings.Listening to Ronan Keating's version of "Both Sides Now" and the subwoofer is too thumpy with even the revised graphic equalizer settings. Not an issue for me but it that's going to annoy you, go for a different product.
I have mixed feelings about this sub. I will be upgrading to a 12in eventually. Its has good sound, but it can't handle the gain that built into it. It will bottom out on lower tones, but handles mid bass very well. If treat as a delicate flower it will sound smooth and clear, but if you really want to thump like a 90s house party, this is not that sub. You will have to turn the gain down and make adjustments. Certain scenes while watching movies it will bottom out if the tone is to low. But I can say that I do like the sub, I just require more.
My audio system is in a finished basement with tile floors so it is very unforgiving. The R-26F's have bass for sure, but I wanted just a little more OOMPH. This is perfect. I was afraid that an 8' sub would be insufficient, but it is PERFECT and blends seamlessly with the floor standers without overpowering. A 10" sub would have been total overkill. I would definitely consider this with the Klipsch floor standers. I now have the perfect Klipsch system! I have the speakers/sub paired with a power amp, phono stage and turntable.
I bought the open box version of this subwoofer but returned it after the new ones went on sale for $30 less than the open box price about a week later. The open box version made a loud thump when being turned on or waking from sleep mode, which I thought was normal. The new one does not make the loud thump. I read on the Klipsch website that other customers have experienced the thump so I'm not sure if it's a random bug or related to specific batches. Anyway, I'm very happy with the new subwoofer and for $199.99, it's an excellent, hard-to-beat value.
