I’m an electrician and had to replace my old pair of Channellocks that walked off a job site. I fell in love with Knipex years ago and figured I would get a quality product from them no matter what, so I had no problem paying a few bucks more for their equivalent. What I didn’t know is how much more I would love them. Once you set it to the size you want, there they stay!!! I thought I liked my old Channellocks but now look back on them with disdain when I think about how much time I’ve wasted over the years fiddling with their tongue and groove always slipping out of position. I couldn’t recommend these more — they’re incredible!

I've seen countless online reviews saying that once you try Knipex, you'll never want to go back to any other set of pliers. That's an awfully bold statement to make, so naturally I was a little skeptical that they could be so outstanding but I went ahead and purchased some anyway, figuring that if I didn't like them, I could always return them for a refund.Let me tell you...these pliers are AMAZING. They definitely live up to the hype. I bought the dipped handle 10-inch Cobras and even though they're not quite as comfortable as the comfort-grip set, they're really not too bad on the hands if you have to clamp down on something. And speaking of "clamping down," when the jaws of these pliers bite down, they're not going anywhere. They hold on very tightly. ... MoreI've seen countless online reviews saying that once you try Knipex, you'll never want to go back to any other set of pliers. You won't regret it.

I recently decided to start upgrading my tool set from consumer quality Lowe Depot tools to something that will last, and ultimately settled on Knipex. After switching over a handful of tools already, I am extremely happy with the quality and workmanship put into their tools. The teeth are tight when closed and there is no side play in the two sides. I also like the comfort grip handles over the regular rubber coated, as it better fits my hands and makes them more comfortable to use. I also love the fact that the adjusted length doesn't slip back up when using them, it gets locked in at the opening you need. Previous adjustable pliers I used, even ones that "locked", only prevented them from getting larger while using, but they would slip back to a smaller opening ... MoreI recently decided to start upgrading my tool set from consumer quality Lowe Depot tools to something that will last, and ultimately settled on Knipex. These get locked in and prevent movement both up and down. All of that, coupled with the tool steel used in the pliers themselves, and I can see using these for years to come.

I'm an industrial mechanic. I Have used this item multiple times since buying it in May. Today, the lower handle snapped off just in front of the grip. This is unacceptable performance for such an expensive tool. I have six other Knipex toolsall of which I bought new this yearbut this makes me question why I spent the extra money for what I was told were quality tools. I'll now get to see what Knipex's warranty is worth, as it's beyond the return period for Home Essentials Direct. Update: Knipex initially refused to honor their warranty but finally relented with pestering, and maybe because of the 1-star review I left. They have sent a replacement, and I now feel whole and give them a 5-star review, because the tools really are excellent.
Its been over a year now and these 6'' Knipex plyers are still going strong. These may look like a toy but are anything but. Yes they are expensive but all hard working built well last forever tools are. I have a serious grip and brake tools often and I am unable to brake these plyers which is awesome. I carry these and the Knipex 6'' plyer wrench in my EDC bags because they are some of the best emergency tools you could have on you. Gas and water valves can be turned on or off, nuts bolts and even screws can be loosened with these two tools. I added the 8'' bolt cutters as well to my kit and they are impressive! I recommend any Knipex tool because I have 20 old tools from them that are still going. Money well spent!
This is actually the 2nd time I purchased these KNIPEX Heavy Duty Forged Steel 10 in. Cobra Pliers because my husband lost his 1st ones. He was so bummed out but kept putting off getting another hoping the other one would still show back up. So for Father's Day we surprised him with a new pair and he was elated. I swear I thought he was going to cry. Like he was reunited with a long lost friend. :)=) He swears by KNIPEX brand pliers and uses them for appliance repairs, installations, etc... He has used KNIPEX for about five years now and won't go back to another brand. His absolute favorite!
This is my first purchase of a Knipex product after spending tons of time reading and watching reviews of the Cobra Series Pliers and other tools they make. I'm an electrician and by and large own and use mostly Kline hand tools. This particular tool has completely sold me on Knipex. The quality, feel, and ease of use are simply remarkable. The hardness of the steel is NOTICEABLE! They grip like no other channel locks I've used to date and I've used quite a few such as Channel Lock brand, Milwaukee, Dewalt, and others. Let me rephrase a bit, the Milwaukee set which I still own grips quite well too, but the teeth are starting to show signs of wear and they are not that old. The marks left by the Knipex on bolts and pipe fittings will show you just how hard the steel ... MoreThis is my first purchase of a Knipex product after spending tons of time reading and watching reviews of the Cobra Series Pliers and other tools they make. The QuickSet feature is quite handy and the more I use the pliers the more efficient I become with it. It was a bit clumsy, at least for me, at first but I can tell it will be a blessing in the future and for the price of the pliers without the QuickSet feature, I would recommend spending the extra few bucks for it. After all, if you're buying a hand tool like this, you are buying it for life. My next 2 purchases will be the 9.5 linesman pliers with crimp and fishtape pulling feature to replace my Klines, and the pliers wrench.which is an amazing tool to save your nuts and fittings from the brutal scares left if you were to use the Cobras.
Why? Simply put, the Cobra pliers, with their quick sizing button, perfectly formed jaws and ergonomic handles put all other slip joint pliers (and yes...I mean ALL of them) in the dark ages. The jaw alignment is spot on, the ergonomics is as well. The more you force the tool in your desired direction, the tighter they bond with the work. So much so, that once the jaws are set into the pipe or fastener, they will stay put until you lift the handle to release them. Try that with other slip joint pliers and you'll be putting band-aids on your knuckles. It's very difficult to damage the serrated jaws, but in the event you do...Take advantage of the lifetime warranty! The only way you can truly appreciate them is to get a set in your hands. These are the absolute best Tongue and Groove Pliers money can buy. Unlike more traditional "Channellock" style pliers these have much more adjustment settings, allowing you to get a much better grip on them, as the handles can close all the way . The teeth are also the best I've ever used. You could hang on these and they absolutely do not slip. I rarely ever find myself using pipe wrenches after buying these just because there that good. Price is a little steep but they are totally worth it. #sweepstakes
A high quality tool for sure. Well made. 10" is a great size. Medium for sure and probably the most versatile in the size range they offer. Very precise and grab objects well. Really enjoy these so far.
