These have pretty much taken over for my adjustable wrenches. If you're just holding a nut, a fixed wrench where you don't have to squeeze the handles like a plier is still useful. But, when you're turning a fastener, that's where these shine. You can just clamp, turn, release, repeat. No loosening and tightening an adjusting nut (or worse, having the jaws loosen on a cheap wrench). This particular wrench can live in your pocket and will come out to play more often than you'd anticipate if you work with your hands or deal with loose fasteners on a regular basis.

I carry these every day at work, on my belt, in this Gerber pouch that I purchased here at Home Essentials Direct. The description reads: Pocket Knife Tactical Sheath Fits up to 4 3/4" Knife - USA - Malice Clip - Gerber Knives They were meant for each other! The wrench is so handy and it has a far superior grip on bolts than a crescent wrench could ever have. And it's so much lighter and easier to have on my belt. Enjoy. I plan giving these together, as gifts.

I carry these every day. They are small enough to fit into a front pocket if need be. I carry them on my belt in a small leather sheath from a 110 Buck knife. They are extremely versatile. In my opinion much more functional than your typical pliers, especially for loosening or tightening nuts. I mean you're not going to be able to take off lug nuts with these but for small jobs at work they are super handy. Very nice grip. Very comfortable to hold. Just like most Knipex tools, you get what you pay for.

I've only been using them for a couple weeks, but I love them already. The small size makes them easy to keep close at hand and is great for working in tight spaces. The 10:1 cam really gives you a tight grip, even with the smooth jaws. Obviously they're lacking in leverage with the short handles but for most everyday tasks they great and you can get a larger size for heavier work. I was so happy with these I have the 10" size on the way
A top down illustration would show that the Knipex 125 jaw has variable width, scalloping down from max nearest the hinge to a tip width a mite over 1/16 inch, a nice design element for close-in work and yet engages a nut tightly. Flat jaws open to 13/16 inch at max setting of the slider. My hand spans 8.5 inch and has moderate strength. With the 125 I've been able to break rust frozen hex nuts on a boat trailer with just an extra firm grip and no slippage despite a pristine boat bow and knuckle busting trailer parts in real close. A longer tool would have to cant to get at the work or maybe be unable to get close due to some protrusion. At first I thought this 125 fly weight might be too small or weak for such work. Not so. It is often the one I reach for over several larger sized examples such as a 180 previously purchased. In my hands the 125 is tough and precise. No problems have surfaced over several years relative to design, materials, execution or function with these Knipex Plier Wrench tools. I thought the model 125 rather pricey compared with larger ones but did not hesitate at the 125 2-pack price. They are so compact and light I slip one in a pocket on the chance it will make all the difference with little or even larger jobs. Hard to do that with other tools. You havea choice as there is a newer model with fatter handle covers perhaps offering advantages for some hands or electrical work. I prefer the handiness of the ones in this 2-pack.
I quit doing the hastag reviews because it is a waste of time; however I want to review this plier wrench. Maybe they will just give me a prize one day...This wrench did not come in my 3 piece Knipex wrench set, but it should. The jaws are thin enough to fit into narrow spaces where there is limited clearance. The push button on this mini-plier is weird to get used to, but it doesn't take long before you'll figure it out. These are excellent handling delicate pieces (lets say a brass coupling nut) not only because of the parallel jaws, but also because you can feel the applied pressure on the part. That is hard to explain, but these are a must have for me now.
Only a rich man can afford to buy cheap tools. And buy new fasteners to replace those that got butchered when you used the channel locks on it. I've seen it a hundred times the right socket can't be found, the adjustable wrench has magically disappeared and the sledge hammer of tools ( The Channel lock is always right there). The only reason they haven't gotten lost (Borrowed by someone) is because they are horrible. Try using channel lock, vise grips, or pliers on a shallow aluminum hex nut and see how well it goes. These also have as they put it a ratchet type principle. Basically they are magic and when you slightly release the grip on the handle they open up just enough so you can rotate the tool, tight up and the grip and then proceed with the loosening or ... That's what she said! Seriously though, these things are amazing! Honestly, every single tool Knipex makes (in my experience) is top notch. These replace every small wrench in my truck tool kit. They're well made, and beautifully designed. Get yourself a pair. The 5" ones are smaller than I thought, but it's not the size of the tool, it's how you use it ??
The small size makes it super easy to just drop these in my front pocket at the start of the day. I use these throughout the day to firmly hold small items that are difficult to hold steady between my fingers. The narrow pliers can reach into spaces that my fingers are too thick for and is super useful for engaging the release tabs on ethernet and HDMI cables behind computers that my fingers suck at (the kind of thing I might have tried to do with a small screwdriver before). The material quality is outstanding and the fit and finish is wonderful (no rattling or wobbling like cheaper knock-offs). It's not mind-blowingly useful in unexpected ways like when you first start carrying a flashlight or blade in your pocket, but it saves me a trip to the toolbox a couple ... Very high quality smooth jaw pliers that exactly fit several size bolts and nuts. This is the smallest size made and fits in very compact spaces. I've rarely have to use a small socket or nut driver as these work in most cases. It's lightweight and a good thing to throw into an around the house tool bag. It is unlike regular pliers in that it doesn't mar the bolts or nuts. It has smooth faces. It adjust wider and smaller than normal pliers can achieve.Fits metric and SAE bolt and nuts just as well.
