An absolutely stunning color film at a very reasonable cost per roll. Tons of latitude and very accurate colors when processed ECN-2.Despite what a lot of folks on the internet suggest, I was unable to get satisfactory results when cross processing in C-41 chemistry. The images were just far too blue shifted, even when shooting with the correct 85b filter under daylight.Instead I've taken to mixing ECN-2 developer following the Kodak datasheet, which I use in conjunction with my existing Kodak flexicolor C-41 bleach and fixer. This gets me color accurate images and so far doesn't appear to require the specified sulfuric acid stop bath that Kodak specifies.

This film is fantastic for medium to low light Super 8 shooting and even daytime too! I shot a roll at around 8pm ish and also during the day and it all came out beautifully. I couldn't believe some of the shots I got out of it, shooting with my Canon 514xl. It was one of the first times I shot Super 8 and it was super easy to load and just shoot without metering or anything special. It will read as 160T in most cameras but that's ok, it won't overexpose in a bad way. Plus the notches are all cut correctly by Kodak so you can plop it in and you'll be good to go. The grain was pretty fine but not non-existent but I was ok with that given that it's Super 8. The processing/scanning is expensive which is to be expected.

If you want an almost 16mm look, you cannot go wrong with Kodak 50D. The colors are extremely similar to Portra 160. I love it because it looks fantastic in most daylight situations and I don't have to add as much ND or none at all. I've definitely overexposed it a few stops in the bright Italian sun because my Leicina Special doesn't go past F/16 and the results were completely fine. I haven't had as many issues with jams with these cartridges either.

Great tungsten balanced stock with fairly low grain. Can handle a wide range of lighting situations. Sharp images. Great latitude.
This film looks incredible. Fine grain and very sharp! Handles over exposure quite well! This gets very close to 16mm quality. Very high quality imagery! Color saturation is fantastic. Nothing but good results from this film stock!
This film truly surprises me when I use it. I've shot it in near black wedding ceremonies and gotten an image from it. It's unreal. The latitude is great. I've also shot it at 160ISO and gotten back a solid image after color correcting so don't be afraid of overexposure if your camera can't meter it properly. Also helps if you get a proper 2k scan to minimize the grain. 1080p telecines tend to make the grain very chunky.
I've recently have gotten into shooting 8mm for weddings and this film stock is my favorite to use. Very good range and the colors are exceptional. Received the film at lightning speed and everything worked great. Can't wait to get everything back from the lab!
Was surprised by the level of grain, but a lot of people love having noticeable grain on their super 8 film so this is more of a personal preference. This film is amazing for indoors, and is probably a better all rounder bet than picking up 50D or 500T, However , definitely check that your camera does not automatically engage the tungsten filter when you use this film. This will cause daylight footage to have a blue cast and effectively ruins the versatility of it
This is a nice film stock but does have significant grain structure. The image remains sharp. Captures that look of legacy imagery from the good ole days.
When chatting with a B&H representative I was told this film would work with my Kodak Brownie 8mm movie camera - spoiler alert and warning to fellow Kodak movie makers, it doesn't! The film shipped well and was in perfect condition. I decided rather than return it to buy a camera that works with this film instead. Grateful that companies like B&H make film easily accessible to those who continue to love it.
