ColorPlus is my favourite colour negative 35mm film. For best results always give ColorPlus plenty of light. I always pull by 1 stop and rate at ISO100. Colours are more pastel, clearer and less saturated. If you shoot at box speed (ISO 200) the increased colour saturation makes the images look muddier.

On a 24 shot roll, I got 15 shots I was happy with, a new record I think. I loved the results from this film. It was warm and saturated and had decent contrast with a fairly fine, unobtrusive grain. I think it was reasonably forgiving of exposure, but I think my camera underexposed a little and I lost some shadow detail. I was using this in a Zenit E with a Helios 44-2 lens, and I found the contrast to be a bit low, but I think that's the lens really as I've had the same issue with other films in it. However, I did find the film scans to be quite malleable in editing. The sample shots are all with a degree of contrast boost but no colour editing. I think this is the perfect film for summer days, sunsets etc.

I love this film stock since it both sales at a rather low price and produces great results. In my opinion, it especially excels in comparison to similarly-priced Kodak film stocks. It's not as contrast-y as Kodak UltraMax and I found that for my purposes, ISO 200 suffices for most purposes. And even though in general, Kodak ColorPlus is regarded as a rather warm film, that doesn't necessarily align with my experiences. It certainly is not as warm-washed as Kodak Gold and performs well in cooler or harsher light as well. Sadly it's hard to get these days, so make sure to get your hand on a few roles when you get the chance.

Colour plus is cheap of course, but it has lovely saturation too. I found it a little grainier than I’d like but it very much performed as expected with lovely colour reproduction. Definitely a safe film, if not an exciting or high performing one. Reliable, robust, but not remarkable.
This film remains excellent value, despite the rising prices across the film market. The colour rendition is pleasing; while not as accurate as Portra etc., it has a pleasant, classical look to it. The grain structure is also surprisingly good, not intrusive at all, at a speed that can be used with moderately fast lenses in all but dark conditions. The film scans well, and results are very nice straight from the photo lab. While it isn't a replacement for the high grade films like Portra, it isn't designed to be as it is a fraction of the price; the film does a very good job for perhaps less formal or personal work, where absolute quality is not as important as the overall "feel" of the images. As per the description, this film is silly, maddeningly, painfully hard to get hold of these days. Kodak have been undergoing some major expansion efforts out in the states and beyond to help facilitate higher production output figures, so we hear on the grapevine. So it'll be worth the wait, but I am poor as **** pretty much all the time so this little baby is my saving grace. Enough about economics. The film is great, really great, I love it. Annoyingly I shoot Portra a lot as a substitute for ColorPlus - which is even crazier. What even is that? C+ has a great dynamic range, fine grain considering the speed and price., outstanding tonal and colour reproduction, and costs less than basically any other film. It's the bee's knee's, item 9.Please Kodak make more. ... MoreAs per the description, this film is silly, maddeningly, painfully hard to get hold of these days. I would introduce to the parents, get down on one knee and ask the question. It's that kinda girl. Wiiiiiild.
A bold assertion that needs no introduction, yet not everyone thinks the same. That's because they have never tried it or have become enamoured with the "Expensive means it's good" mantra. Kodak ColorPlus 200 is the happy snappers dream film because it tells your story just the way your memories hold dear. The colours invoke memories of holidays in the sun, a day at the beach or a BBQ in the garden on a summers day. Some of my happiest memories were captured on Kodak ColorPlus and it's predecessors and I still enjoy using it today to document the town I call my home. Here's a quote from my blog about these photos. Here's a quote from my blog about these photos. "On the day I shot these photographs I was in a daze emotionally, but a sunny afternoon presented itself and I loaded a roll of ColorPlus into my Nikon F801s, put another in my camera bag and headed into town. I had no particular plan, just a need to be outside with my camera and my thoughts." I took these photos on a day when I was struggling to find sense in life, my Dad had passed away and I was feeling lost. A sunny autumn afternoon with Kodak ColorPlus soon set me straight, reminded me of happier times with my family and gave me the confidence to face what was to come. It's also perfect for the Home Developers out there. I developed these in a Cinestill CS41 kit bought from this very boutique, scanned them with a cheap 35mm scanner and processed them with Affinity Photo 2.
Colorplus 200 is almost synonymous with beginner film photography. Its wide exposure latitude means that on a good day you won't struggle to make a composition look pretty.Thing to consider with this film:1) it is pretty much the cheapest decent C41 film going2) it has the traditional film aesthetic - some rather rustic grain with saturated (but not overly so) colours - wack this in a low-mid range PnS and you'll be transported back to school and uni parties from days of yore3) It's a great all-rounder, but master of none. At this price point, you can't really expect Kodak to be giving you all the bells and whistles, but you'd be hard pushed to find something that this film isn't at least half decent at (for a 200 ISO film at least).4) The colours are nice and ... MoreColorplus 200 is almost synonymous with beginner film photography. Not excessively so (and the reds are certainly not as vibrant as Ektar), but enough to make the photos stand out5) underexposure ain't pretty. You'll see a sharp drop off when it comes to underesposure, and if things really go wrong you'll lose almost all detail (unlike more expensive film like Portra, where you have a lot more lee-way).
Took a roll of this out on a walk to a local disused church, loading it into a fully automatic Pentax compact on the basis that it was probably the sort of thing people used it in way back when. It didn't disappoint. The weather was a lightly overcast, cold, winter afternoon but the colorplus did its best to add warmth to the cold grey light. The results are NOT accurate to the conditions, but they're exactly the sort of thing that so many memories have been made of over the years.Acceptably sharp, with noticeable but pleasing grain, and quite a bit more saturation, especially in the greens and reds, than was really there. Not technically excellent, perhaps, but very very evocative when you find yourself looking back at places you've been and has definite ... MoreTook a roll of this out on a walk to a local disused church, loading it into a fully automatic Pentax compact on the basis that it was probably the sort of thing people used it in way back when. My first time shooting any film in a long while and I was excited to shoot a roll of 'standard' film to test out my 'new' Pentax K2.I took it out around town around midday in very sunny and bright conditions, using the camera meter and my light meter when necessary. Some shots were a little over and some a little under depending on the contrast but with plenty of room for adjustment in post if inclined.Besides a little hair in the gate that I didn't notice, I found the contrast really pleasing when slightly under and a little washed out when over but generally very forgiving. Some shots I thought wouldn't have near enough light to expose everything but came out lovely with a pleasing fine grain. I will say that it has a distinct warm cast, particularly ... MoreMy first time shooting any film in a long while and I was excited to shoot a roll of 'standard' film to test out my 'new' Pentax K2.I took it out around town around midday in very sunny and bright conditions, using the camera meter and my light meter when necessary. I will say that it has a distinct warm cast, particularly noticeable when under, but this isn't necessarily a negative point and may have been emphasised by the beautiful weather conditions.Overall I was really pleased with the performance, colour rendition and grain structure which is sharp but retains a slight soft, painting feeling to certain shots.
