I have a 5 pound Yorkshire Tyrannosaurus Rex and while this little lion was indeed adorable out of the box, she killed the squeaker inside within 15 minutes, which might be a record, and then proceeded to try to tear up the velcro in its back. Kong toys are pretty much all I buy for Lola and we both love them but sometimes even they are no match for her killer jaws. On the plus side you can replace the squeaker in this. But not if you have a Lola.

I love Kong toys and have purchased them before but the face of the lion is smushed! I noticed other people complaining of the same thing on other pet store sites. I don’t blame Homes Alive Pets because I think the Kong manufacturers send them out like that. Quality Control?

My two dogs (Great Dane & a terrier mix) love this toy. It’s still holding strong after 7 months of continued play. They’ve only chewed one ear off and the squeaker still works. Speaking of squeaker, This toy has a lower-toned squeak instead of the typical higher pitched squeakers in most toys. My dogs are more entertained with the lower squeakers, so that’s a bonus! I’ve just ordered three more to have in hand.
I had read the reviews stating and showing that this toy was not as pictured. I bought it anyway because my daughter’s dog is named Nala and we named this lion toy Simba. I did have to trim some fur to even see the eyes, but Nala LOVES it!!! It is her favorite toy!! My daughter bought another one for her house, too. So far, it has both ears and tail even though she loves to play tug with it before she lets us throw it for her.
It looks like a dead rat, it's horrible, it's nothing like the picture. I was very disappointed with it if my dog hadn't already played with it I would have returned it. It's only small in size aswell.
Honestly I buy 3 of these at a time for my pitbull. The squeaker is removable via velcro in the back, but to be honest my dog usually crushes the squeaker, removes it himself, and then has a stuffed animal friend for a few weeks before he rips off a leg. The stitches are NOT strong on these, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. My dog loves them, but my house is covered in stuffing within a day or two of arrival. I love that the squeaker is removable, and I think it's the only thing that's kept them alive in my house for so long.
Our Bulldog puppy called Fred who's 9 months old loved his dog who we had to throw away as he'd got to the stuffing and was eating it but he loves his new one n loves this as much. On the expensive side but quality is everything. Xx
Kong toys are tougher and last longer than other stuffed dogs toys. It takes 100lb. Wolf over a week to destroy it. The two little dogs love up on theirs for weeks without ripping them open to get the squeaker. I’ve found Kong stuffed toys in the yard from last season and they clean up good as new in the washer. They are out go to stuffed toys.
This is an excellent toy! I have had this toy for 4 years and my dog plays with it everyday. I sometimes remove the squeeker and replace it with treats in the velcro pouch. I have a beagle who is not a super aggresive chewer. Just remember Kong makes a variety of toys for different dogs.
