Charlies loves to chew and being an American Bulldog (aka Pitbull) he can destroy many toys within minutes. I bought him a couple of Kong extreme bones, the first lasted a week or so, the second a couple of hours, but he would chew on the ends until he demolished them, which took quite awhile! I was delighted when I saw the ribbon toy, imagine, a whole line of knuckles to chew on! That was two years ago, and he still has almost two 'nubs' left though they are going fast. He has a basketful of toys, 2 other Kong toys, ball and a ring...he almost always chooses the 'nubs'! As for smell, all rubber toys tend to smell at first, I don't think it will deter Charlie and his absolute #1 toy!

We adopted a dog about a month ago. Unknown to us, she loves to chew AND destroy toys, dog beds, paper, etc. This Kong ribbon toy has held up for about 3 weeks to daily aggressive chewing. I actually bought another one as a backup in case we ever lose this one. This toy keeps her occupied for 30 minutes or more.

When I have a task I need to complete, but can't because my enthusiastic dog likes to "help," I try to occupy Cowboy with one of those hide-a-treat chew toys. Unfortunately, Cowboy usually accesses the hidden treats by tearing apart the dense rubber. He's destroyed three rubber bones in the past few months, all of which were designed for serious chewers. The Kong Goodie Ribbon toy was my last hope and it did not disappoint. I can shove dog biscuits or peanut butter into the openings and Cowboy will forget all about being my assistant for twenty or thirty minutes while he tries to free the goodies. When I check on him, he looks up at me and wags his tail, then returns his focus to the toy. That's far better than the previous toys fared. Kong makes fantastic products!

The chew is very heavy so use for large dogs. I bought to put peanut butter in and my dogs get bored and eventually leave the toy. It's just too hard for them to get the peanut butter out. I have not tried with the cookies yet. Maybe will work out better. I had the Kong bones before and they prefer those
This is the best line of chew toys we’ve ever had for our German Shepherd extreme chewers. We tried a few different ones and loved them so much we ordered the whole line. Making up kongs with real food and freezing them helps to keep our puppies active and mentally stimulated, cleans their teeth safely, and they love playing fetch and tug with them. It’s the only line of toys we’ve found that don’t break apart or even show any sign of wear. These things are amazing and we no longer worry about broken or cracked teeth or fear of toy parts getting chewed off and lodged in their digestive system. We are thrilled with the different sizes and shapes of these toys and they seem to love the variety. We are thrilled with the different sizes and shapes of these toys and they seem to love the variety. We fill with frozen green beans, berries, and a smidge of peanut, walnut or almond butter on the ends to close them up and freeze. Keeps them active for a long time without adding too many calories in between meals. Chewy is the most cost effective place to purchase these and we’re grateful for their service and fast shipping.
Kong Extreme products are the only toys that survive our 50-pound Portuguese Water Dog puppy. We tuck small biscuits inside each slot and it keeps our dogs entertained when we must go out. But, choose the size appropriately for your specific dog. We also own the largest size of this bone -- it's heavy for the puppy to carry easily, but he hasn't destroyed it. This smaller size is more appropriate looking for him, but he was able to tear off chunks of rubber in the first five minutes. Just beware and know your dog. We'll revert to giving this avid chewer the largest version of this toy, and give this slightly smaller one to some of the less aggressive chewers in the house. As always, Chewy was fabulous with quick, accurate service!
My Momo pup passed in April and he was a power chewer but he never made it through a black Kong of any variety. Our new 46-lb monster was able to damage this toy and I'm absolutely amazed and confounded. I bought this one because she tore up the large red ribbon chew we've had for years (the one that lasted through Momo!) and was sure the XL black ribbon would be her match but I had to take it away because she was managing to bite off little bits. I have no idea what to get this girl and will be putting this on the questionnaire for the trainer we'll be meeting with (this is a rescue pup who came to us with a great number of issues) because I Thought we had bite inhibition trained but clearly it is not. She used to be so very gentle with plush toys, playing with ... MoreMy Momo pup passed in April and he was a power chewer but he never made it through a black Kong of any variety. She used to be so very gentle with plush toys, playing with them for hours with no damage. Back to the drawing board! Petstages Orka Tire Tough Dog Chew Toy has lasted thus far but it's difficult to fill with anything other than solid treats because the opening is tight. Attempting to put peanut butter, yogurt, apple sauce, etc . . .in it is messy.
My new dog wants to destroy any rubber toy. She surgically separated a medium Kong Extreme bone into two halves in about a half hour, had a flap of a large Chuckit Ultra ball ripped loose in 20 minutes, demolished an "indestructible" Ruff Dawg donut in 10 minutes flat, and several other toys I've lost count of. I bought the large size of this bone for her since it has fewer thin spots to fit between her molars. I'm happy to say that it has survived a couple weeks of chewing and picking and ripping with only some teeth marks! I just ordered another one while they're on sale for whenever she eventually gets through the first one. The only other rubber toys that have outlasted her so far are the large Kong Extreme ball, a couple Goughnuts toys, and alarge WoofBite ball.
I put peanut butter in each with a Crunchy-O sticking out. The dogs gave up getting the food out. And these are two hardcore chewers. I eventually had to soak them in scalding water and use a toothbrush to get the food out. On the plus side, the toys were tough enough to handle both the dogs chewing and my cleaning.
When our German shepherd can get her teeth into an opening in a chew toy she is able to start shredding it and then we have to throw it away. The holes in the extreme goodie ribbon dog chew toy are small enough that our shepherd can't get her tooth in the holes to destroy the toy. If I shove different sized small treats in the holes so they don't fall out easily it can keep her busy for about 1/2 an hour.
