It’s definitely a better option compared to the plastic cone for more than one reason. It’s lighter and hopefully more comfortable too. It’s adjustable strap so able to expand to fitting upto a certain circumference so please do opt for size after checking the dimensions provided.

My poor little foxy cross chihuahua HATED wearing his plastic cone. You could tell it was hurting him. This one is nice and soft and flexible so he could sleep better and generally was a happier boy.

My kitten has a small neck but a long body. So when the vet sent him home with an XS plastic cone after being neutered, it didn’t take long for him to figure out he can still lick his stitches. I picked this up first thing the next morning in hopes that it would both fit his neck but also be deep enough to work, and it worked out perfectly. Got him a size XS, but the extra couple of inches really helped. Now all I hear him licking is the inside of the cone if he tries to lick down there. He was also able to take a nice long nap with it on, so I’m assuming it’s comfortable. My only complaint would be how long the strings are, but he doesn’t seem to notice them after I tucked them in the neck hole.

The advantage of the collar is that it is worn comfortably by our pet. It does not interfere with eating or drinking. It prevents reopening of the wound. However, since the cat is able to claw holes in the collar, several must be layered and changed when damaged.
Tried several e-collars for my Rat Terrier and this is the only one that he did not fight and left on. It is light weight and flexible enough that your pet can still eat, drink and sleep in comfort and not get to the wound.
Hopeless for a cat. The product was too small to fit over the cat's head. If it did, the design looks like it would nearly choke the cat to stay on. I wouldn't even give this product away, I'm throwing it away. This was an adult female cat of normal size.

It's a perfect alternative to the traditional hard plastic e-collar which really restricts an animal's movement and is uncomfortable for them to wear (if you can actually get one on them in the first place, my cat just hated the regular one and freaked out with it on). It has stopped my cat from being able to scratch out her neck stitches and she is actually content to wear it as she can still eat, drink and lie down with it on. I would highly recommend this collar for anyone looking for a kinder, softer alternative to the plastic e-collars. I used these to keep my cats from licking off a bath treatment. It stained their necks, even after a second bath (without using the color again), they are still stained. The neck sizes are off. One of my cats could have easily used a medium, but I ordered 2 small and 1 x-small. I couldn't keep the smalls on any of my cats.It's nice that it's pliable, but it's all bent up after being washed, and it's awkward for the cats. I normally use coffee filters, the lg basket kind, about 8-10 with a hole cut in the middle...I'll go back to those.
My cat has cutaneous lymphoma and wears the cone/s 24/7. It's the best option that I've tried. I bought this for a cat that was attacked by a dog. The hard plastic cone used by the vet was way too big and she kept slipping it off. It was also very heavy and bulky she could barely stand up while wearing it. I bought this in hopes that it would work better and it was great! She could eat and drink from small dishes and she didn't seem to try to remove it like she did the bulky one. The drawstring closure was much easier to use than the velcro strips on the one from the vet. I am so glad I found this product! IMO it is awesome!!
