This is a great puzzle toy! I use it to feed Murphy sometimes. It holds ~1 cup of food. It's more challenging than their Wobbler toy, so I would start with that if your dog is just getting into food dispensing toys. I thought the red part was like their classic red kongs, but it's softer and thus not as durable, so keep a close eye on your dog at first to make sure they don't chew it! It's easy to clean with soap and water, and so long as it's screwed on properly it won't spill open and won't have trouble sliding around. It's much harder to use on carpet, so definitely start out on tile/hardwood! Overall this is a great puzzle to make meals more interesting for your pup!

I love the Kong brand and I bought this for my husky. Within two days he had bitten through the red ring and it was completely useless. Also, the plastic on this toy (in addition to other Kongs) is a little bit too hard. So when you have a big dog and they like to push things around and push things against walls it can dent your wall or injure your walls. Kong should take a chip out of Chuck It’s book and make their toys soft on the outside so that when they hit the wall it doesn’t injure them. I don’t think this product is worth it.

I was told to purchase some puzzle / treat toys for my tibetan /cocker puppy. He has been chewing a lot of things he shouldnt being went into pets at home and found this product and thought I'd try him on this first. At first i think he enjoyed it...it was very very easy for the treats to come out. 30 minutes later it is destroyed!! Still looking for the indestructible puzzle / treat toy if anyone can recommend!

Amazing but could use improvement
12 August 2021

My dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. They just need to update it to be a sturdy material like the other kong items. It lasted 2-3 months but eventually the dogs tore it to shreds. Literally shreds. I would still re buy it though due to how many hours use we got out of it. But I would rather spend a little more for a better version of this that is just not as prone to being torn up (as other reviewers mentioned and posted pics of, this is eventually what happened to ours, too). I filled with some dog food mixed with some soft training sized treats to really get their attention. Wouldn’t put peanut butter or anything like that in this. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to ... MoreMy dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to be able to get anything like that out. The weighted feeder ball is a great, indestructible similar option to this if you’re needing something to keep them busy for a longer period, it doesn’t break or get torn up, and can be used to feed a full meal as capacity is much bigger. With almost every king toy I always buy up 2 sizes. There’s a lot of reasons but especially due to the smaller ones being easily torn apart. My dogs just prefer the bigger ones anyway. PLEASE NOTE: it’s important to always remove any toys, feeders, bones, or bowls of food if the pup isn’t currently eating, or playing with the item. They’ll learn bad behavior like grazing, guarding, etc. and it can make it very hard for owners to notice when pets are unwell. (Google for more info). Water is the only thing they should have 24/7 access to without restriction. Hope this helps!

Cute toy BUT not for an aggressive chewer
7 January 2023

Mixed feelings on this one. It’s a fun way for providing treats to your dog but if you have an aggressive chewer, don’t buy this. Mine went thru the red plastic in 5 minutes. 20 pieces all over the floor. I guess cause it’s Kong, I expected it to last and hold up to my chewer. So if your dog doesn’t like to chew, this would be ok. Like I said, mixed feelings on it.

Great Idea, but not worthy of the Kong Brand Name
30 June 2022

I bought this as I have the King Wobbler and though this would be a great addition to our feeding toys and puzzles. Unfortunately after ONE use, this thing is destroyed. It is NOT worthy of the Kong name. My dog had this for 15 minutes and it is now useless. It's hollow and does not roll well on a hardwood floor. This dog is NOT a heavy chewer - he has Outward Hound hard puzzles, the Kong Wobbler, Lickimats, and snuffle mats and never chews them. Skip this toy and get the Kong Wobbler, instead.

Great Slow Feeder
6 April 2023

We have been using this for our Labrador since he was a few months old (he is now 17 months old) to slow his eating down. Slow feeder bowls didn't work he would just inhale his kibble and end up with hiccups. He has his kibble in the Kong Gyro and only for meal times. Once he's eaten we take it away otherwise he would chew it all day. We've gone through 2 so far but they've lasted months and I'm ordering another one.

This has worked better for our young heeler than some of the other treat dispenser type toys. He needed some encouragement initially, to push it, flip it and so on, but quickly got into it. We put it away between play sessions, to try and retain some of its novelty value and also because he would have just used it for chewing if it was out all the time. Can be a bit messy, if the treat pieces are too small and Freddy gets excited chasing it , treats being scattered all over the tiles and forgotten. So treat size is important, you want them to come out as the dog plays, not too easily, but easy enough for them to notice them, eat them & to keep them interested.I keep it in a bag, on the floor in the pantry, tucked under a shelf and Fred seeks it out himself, so I ... MoreThis has worked better for our young heeler than some of the other treat dispenser type toys. It's 'meh' for my cautious-personality dog
24 January 2022

My dog will tentatively boop it with her nose and doesn't seem very motivated to try any more than that - I guess she doesn't really understand it. The treats do not come out easily...I think the dog would have to be a pretty rough player to have success at getting them out. If you open it up there are three plastic tabs surrounding the hole so that the treats just get stuck behind them, even if the hole is lined up with the ground, so I broke off two of them and now it works better. She kinda gave up on it quickly due to it not yielding anything for her. But I'll sit there and we'll play with it together until we can get the treats out lol. I think it could stand to roll around better

Keeps bully puppy entertained
2 September 2021

Our XL American bully has been using this for 6 months and loves it. We put her usual kibble in it and she prefers the challenge of eating it from this toy than out of her bowl. She likes chewing but hasn't destroyed the plastic so I'm surprised reading some reviews as she needs robust toys.Makes a bit of a racket if you have wooden floors but will bring doggy joy and keep puppies entertained so worth the noise! :)Also the ball twists open for easy loading, something we didn't realise for months and were dropping kibble in one buy one. Doh! Haha
