Korg microKEY 25 Key USB Midi Controller

I purchased to use with my Mac to notate music using the Sibelius app. The keys are the right size for a small keyboard. I find that I have to use the octave/double octave buttons frequently, but like the small size (easily fits in a backpack or luggage). I also like the piano-style look to the keys.

I got this to control my soft synths and it works great with them. Just plug it in and it set itself up in a couple minutes. The keys feel pretty good for a little controller.

Portable, does exactly what it says it will. Good value. Great for sketching ideas into my day on the fly.

Does what it does

This is a great product for the price. I use it as a MIDI keyboard and it works great for what I use it for. Velocity isn't as sensitive as a full sized keyboard, but it isn't too bad. The arpeggiator and mod/pitch wheel is what gives this product the edge over other portable MIDI devices, such as the Korg Nano and Akai LPK25. I have worked with all of these in the past, but the Korg microKEY25 beats the others, because of the mod/pitch wheel. It may be a bit bigger than the Korg Nano or Akai LPK25, but it is still portable and not too big.

Great compact keyboard, perfect for mobile production!

This is one awesome keyboard! Very compact & perfect for mobile productions if you're an on-the-go music producer like myself. But it can also be used comfortably in the studio. I can slide it right in my backpack & I'm ready to go! It does exactly what it needs to do & I've never had an technical issues with it.

Great feeling little MIDI keyboard

The Korg MicroKEY is a great little space-saving controller. While it's very basic and not really programmable, I give it high marks for its excellent keyboard, which is far better feeling than any other small MIDI keyboard I've tried. The pitch/mod joystick is just okay -- it's better than any other keyboard in its class because it's one of the few (only one?) its size to have a joystick. The joystick isn't great for pitch bend; it's just passable. But the joystick-controlled arpeggiator is pretty cool.

Great small controller

Bought it because tired of using laptop keyboard as a controller. I was looking for something small because my table if full of other gear. It's pretty cool - really small, lightweight and it works out of the box. Includes discounts on Korg's VST synths and few DAWs, music courses.

Part time Producer

Great portability, fits everywhere. Easy to install, with windows 7 and above it will install automatically without need for drivers.Very good cheap price and nice feel when pressing the keys.Worth buying, highly reccomended for mobile users. Also good for begineers who need a basic midi keyboard.

Wireless works great after initial setup hurdles

Works great once you get it going, very responsive with no lag between bluetooth and keyboard...had difficulties getting it to work with latest iOS (13.x) version. Had to update firmware, which was unusually difficult.

Works well with computer programs

The Korg microKEY25 is a well made small USB MIDI keyboard. The keys have a good feel, are slightly narrower than a standard keyboard, but are easy to adjust to (if you are accustomed to playing a regular size keyboard). I use it primarily to play and try out virtual organ programs on my computer. It works equally well on Mac or PC. I like using the transpose buttons, which are conveniently located to the left of the keys.
