I’ve used the La Roche Posay 50+ Shaka fluid everyday for 3 years. I would normally go through one bottle a month so I tended to bulk buy when offers were on. When I first saw the new formula come out I got quite excited as I had high hopes for this higher UVA protection. So like normal, I brought 3 new bottles of it to add to my stock. After opening and trying the first bottle of this new formula I instantly noticed a difference in the colour and thickness. It’s a lot more yellow and a lot more runny. This to me wasn’t an issue as I’ve got brown skin so the new yellow tint isn’t noticeable at all and the runny texture I can live with (although I’d recommend applying it somewhere where if you spill it, you’re not hugely fussed about any staining because it REALLY ... MoreI’ve used the La Roche Posay 50+ Shaka fluid everyday for 3 years. Anyway, when I began rubbing it in, I instantly noticed that the product felt a lot more greasy and heavy. I could actually feel the product on my skin as opposed to the old formula which felt weightless and sinked in beautifully. I really wanted to like this new formula and I really have given it a fair shot (I’ve almost finished one of the three bottles) but I just can’t get over the greassiness of it. I’ve even had comments from people who don’t normally comment on my skin, telling me my face looks quite greasy when I wear it. I really hope La Roche Posay listens to these reviews and does something about it. I’d really like to keep using their products but if nothing is done about it, I’m really considering looking for alternatives (which as a long-time customer, is quite a shame).

This is a great product with superior sun protection. It is very lightweight and running in texture. The packaging is really efficient and perfect for taking along with you when you are travelling. However, the UVMUNE variant is yellowish compared to its predecessor, which was creamy white in color. It does not look as flattering on the skin as the previous non-UVMUNE version did, but I guess that is the price you pay for the higher end protection! I use this when I am travelling and going to be spending a lot of time in the sun and I do reapply it during the day without it piling or balling up. It is invisible on the skin, which is great! The sad part is that the quantity is too little and you end up running out of this beauty fairly quickly. Taken off a star for ... MoreThis is a great product with superior sun protection. I'm so glad I decided to try this particular sunscreen from La Roche-Posay {already being happy with, -and using their SPF50 for children for both me and my son} wanting something that felt a bit lighter for the face and neck especially. I have very sensitive, reactive skin prone to redness {not diagnosed but ticks every box for Rosacea} and not only does this sunscreen not cause any irritations whatsoever, but my skin seem calmer and happier since I've started using this nearly daily and I've had no flare ups and putting it on. There's not even a hint of redness {that can even be brought on by my kind moisturiser that is great for me otherwise}. Anyone with finicky skin knows that this in itself is so nice to find, - but not only have I had these results every time ... MoreI'm so glad I decided to try this particular sunscreen from La Roche-Posay {already being happy with, -and using their SPF50 for children for both me and my son} wanting something that felt a bit lighter for the face and neck especially. So much so that I've stopped using a primer before make up application {and rather just use this sunscreen and then a cc cream and some translucent mineral veil, and I have had more compliments on my skin than ever}. The consistency is quite runny and light, but I find that to be a great feature for a sunscreen for the face as it melts in with no white cast whatsoever. It stays a bit tacky to the touch {and skin looks healthy 'glowy' on me}, which I now only appreciate as that might be what then has make up sit well on top too. First time I ordered I was a bit taken back by how small the bottle is, but it's lasted much longer than expected with daily use and I've reordered more than happily since.

This is hand down the best chemical sunscreen I’ve ever used and well worth the money. It’s lightweight but still water resistant and is the only sunscreen I can wear without instantly sweating in the humid summers in my area. It doesn’t make my face/neck feel sticky and gross and unless I apply a ton, it doesn’t leave me a shiny. (If you do apply a lot - as in more than the recommended 1/2 teaspoon for your face - it does leave you with a little dewy shine but this dries down.) I have medium-tan skin and it leaves NO cast on me or my friend with a deep skin tone. Most amazingly: this doesn’t bother my eyes AT ALL, even when put on my lids/up to my lower lash line. As someone with an eye condition, I’m probably the poster child for easily irritated eyes so believe ... MoreThis is hand down the best chemical sunscreen I’ve ever used and well worth the money. I hope they never stop making this.
I have a T zone, dehydrated cheeks, sensitive skin, sensitive eyes. This product is my go to. You have to shake it for some time to activate this (lots of people don't realise this) it's very watery so be careful when pouring out. I apply it twice, but I do wait for the first application to dry. It's good under make up. It doesn't irritate my eyes or skin. I am shiny in my T zone area so I do have to apply face powder once the product has dried, so this is a down side for my type of skin, but it doesn't bother me. I must be on about my 10th bottle. SPF is expensive, but cheaper than anti aging products we buy to undo all the damage over the years. I agree, super disappointed! I will not be using this again now the formula has changed from the original La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultralight Invisible Fluid SPF50+ Sun Cream. I felt this actually allowed my face to tan during this summer rather than protect it (I am very pale) and my face colour looked really uneven, yellow in places on application. I was a complete convert to the original formula and used it daily, even in the Winter but this new formula stained the neckline of all of my white tops- the original did not seem to do this and I have used it for years! The original also created a lovely sheen, almost like a primer and I could go make-up-free. Not happy at all. Will be finding a new sunscreen from a different brand from now on unless the original ever returns, sorry La Roche -Posay!
Firstly - If it's what the beautifully au natural French women use; then I'm all for it. An incomparable formulation that glides onto the skin, visibly appearing and feeling nourishing, hydrating and cooling. No tacky residue or white cast. Leaves skin with a subtle glow that's more comparible to healthy prepped and plump skin as opposed to a sunscreen saturated look. I've been using this since the year of it's release and it's one of my not so secretive truths of younger looking skin, (I'm often mistaken for a twenty-something year old student), I'm 37. My other young skin truth IS a secret, haha. Not really - Always remove makeup before going to sleep, rose water applied AM & PM everyday and see the humor even in stressful or bad situations... Be optimistic. ... MoreFirstly - If it's what the beautifully au natural French women use; then I'm all for it. Be optimistic. Though its only 50ml, i understand the need and logic of it's size... So you use it up in the 'once opened' allocated timeframe, so the bulk of it's ingredients and effectiveness don't diminish. I love the shape and uniqueness of the bottle. Can't quite put it into words, its nice to hold and feels like a bottle with purpose and action in mind... If that even makes any sense. I have light skin, green eyes and have never got sunburnt using La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid. I use this all year round - even on cloudy Wintery days. UVA damage does not discriminate and isn't just a word for Summer.
Great protection from an European sunscreen. Best broad spectrum chemical filters available that I am aware of anyway. Great UVA protection which is so important to protect collagen from breakdown. Rain or shine, indoor or outdoor, this goes on. However…..i think this may be better suited in the oiler skin types. I am combo but it’s just a tad too matte for me. UVMUNE 400 by LRP does come in creamy versions too so I may try that. But this is great for now. A good moisturizer balanced out the matte just fine tbh. You’ll not be disappointed in the protection you get. Remember, UVA damage is not seen by a burn and happens even on overcast days and comes right through all windows! Protect yourself with filters like this. US filters lack because our FDA has yet to ... MoreGreat protection from an European sunscreen. I decided to try this on the recommendation of a dermatolist, because of the long uva filters, which makes this a really innovative product. Since I'm concerned with doing everything I can to prevent premature skin aging, I chose the tinted version. The tint is a little dark for me, but I take it down my neck so it looks natural. It sinks in really quickly, which is great as it this makes sure that I use the proper amount, as it doesn't spread far.I feel confident that I'm getting really good protection wearing this. I've only taken a star off as I have really quite dry skin and it's probably not the best option for that in my opinion.I can make it work by wearing a more hydrating moisturiser than I would usually use for daytime underneath.I'm also a but ... MoreI decided to try this on the recommendation of a dermatolist, because of the long uva filters, which makes this a really innovative product. I've only been using this for a week and I will see if this becomes an issue for me over time. All things considered, I am OK for now with these issues, as I find them a fair trade off for having what I consider to be one of the best technologies for protecting my skin.
I received this product from La Roche Posay as a member of the La Roche Posay skin Community to test and review. It's taken me a bit longer than normal to provide a review as I wanted to see and feel the effectiveness as well as review the texture and packaging. The first thing to note is the great size and shape this SPF is housed in. Super convenient and easy to transport. It's easy and convenient to dispense which requires very little effort which is fabulous for working days. I reall do love the consistency of it which is somewhat perfect and has no scent. I would say it's more of a lotion consistency than a cream. It feels silky smooth and applies really well and doesn't make my eyes water or sting.
