La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + Unifiant Medium 40ml

It’s reasonably affordable, you get a fairly large tube of it, and it works well! It significantly reduces the size of the pimples when applied on its first treatment… it however does dry out your skin a bit, but if you add in some extra hydration it’s great! But not only does it help reduce the size of the pimples over time to completely eliminating them .. it also significantly reduces the scaring from them (which is great since I like to pick things even tho I know I shouldn’t 🙈) it absorbs quick and you can’t really feel it on your skin like some other spot treatments. 2nd tube,skin looks amazing

Okay so I gave this a good long shot before writing a review. I bought it after my best friend’s boyfriend recommended it to her. It cleared up both their skin & he was recommended it by his dermatologist so I thought I would give it a try! I’m on my second tube of this and use it every morning. It has made my skin a little dry though (so beware! Not for super dry skin girlies) so I use another basic moisturiser on the evening and it evens it out. This moisturiser works fantastic under makeup, doesn’t make my primer or foundation go weird, which is a big plus! - My skin absolutely looks beautiful now. I have suffered with acne for yeaaars and get hormonal breakouts. My skin looks so even and I hardly get spots anymore. Cleared my skin!

For as long as I can remember I’ve had blemished prone skin from teen to mid twenties. I would get the large spots that sit under the surface of the skin around my cheeks and jawline. I couldn’t leave them alone. I’d be lucky to get a couple of clear skin days a month. I picked up effaclar duo and used it religiously morning and evening over my cheeks, jawline and neck. It took around a month to start seeing my skin clear. It is a little bit drying but not irritating at all. I didn’t use any moisturiser over the top because I wanted just do nothing but cleanse my skin and use this treatment for the first month, but now I can use this a couple of times a week and moisturising serums and the benefits are just as good. Magic magic magic

I cannot believe how great this product works. I've read some good and bad reviews. After I placed my order I saw a lot of people who broke bad after using this product and was super nervous but again not everyone has the same skin so I had to test it for myself. The texture of the product is so nice, not too thick or watery. I used it as a spot treatment which does leave a tingly feeling for like 10-15 mins. BUT OMG, this product works like a miracle. Reduces the appearance of pimples overnight, no joke. I don't kid about acne, I've struggled with acne for over 10yrs and never experienced a product to work that fast. Not effective enough

I have very persistent cystic acne both active and post acne scars, red, purple, brown, pink marks all over my face. I have used this treatment for must be 1 year or more. It does help to calm an active spot and when I first used this my scars where slowly going to a smaller size. I have kept using this treatment for the hope of clear skin one day. But as I approach the big 30 and my skin is still so unpredictable and scared I am not sure if this product is really helping a lot. Id always use this with an active spot or just to treat scars. But I'm not seeing huge results and may need something stronger. I think if you have mild acne and your skin can heal fairly soon after breakouts and this cream will aid that. Mine however will not heal itself at all. :(

Only thing that's worked!

I was sent a free tube of Effaclar Duo (+) to try. I have been using this morning and night for about a month now, and I am really seeing a clear improvement in my skin texture! I have been trying to improve the texture of my skin as I have small bumps under the skin of my forehead and between my eyebrows. I think it may be a form of KP as there are no spots or blemishes as such, just slightly reddish bumps. I have tried a number of products such as Paula's Choice salicylic acid liquid exfoliant, The Inkey List niacinamide, and three products from The Ordinary: lactic acid, retinol and AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution. All of these products helped to varying degrees but I still felt that the bumps were obvious. A few days in I was already seeing a difference in my skin texture and redness, and after using it for a weeks my skin is so much smoother and the redness is really reduced! I also found that there was a reduction in the size of the sebaceous filaments on my nose and chin and overall my skin was smoother and softer! I feel much more confident going without foundation now and have been able to spot conceal and leave most of my natural skin bare to achieve a flawless complexion. The cream itself is a light, gel light texture. It feels soft and smooth on the skin but not at all greasy. It dries down completely leaving the skin soft but not sticky. It does have a light fresh floral scent which really surprised me as fragrance is a known skin irritant and La Roche Posay are normally good about making their products fragrance free. I actually have a fragrance sensitivity which was diagnosed by a consultant dermatologist, however this scent doesn't seem to bother my skin. I would still prefer a fragrance free version however just to ensure no chance of irritation! Overall I love this product and give it 4.5/5 (half a point deducted as it is not fragrance free). I will definitely be buying this again as the results really are worth the price!

Perfect

I have now been using this moisturiser for around a year. It may seem expensive, but a little goes a long way. I started to use this after my dermatologist recommended it. I realised I had skin picking disorder, so my face is fairly covered in red marks and scarring. After using this moisturiser for months, I had forgotten how good it is. I switched back to my other moisturiser after running out for around a week or so, and forgot how thick it was. The La Roche-Posay moisturiser, in comparison, is extremely light and makes your skin feel smooth, but not greasy. It has improved the appearance of my skin after using it again for only a few days since re-ordering. Skin balancing masterpiece

I cannot believe it took me so long to try this. I have been using spf moisturisers for 5 years and the effects on my skin are such that people routinely guess my age 7 years lower than what it actually is. My skin was kinda oily and I was looking for one that balanced well and wasn't just a mattifying moisturiser that ruins my pores. I tried this because of: price, niacinamide, and spf30. I have been using it for two months and I will not be switching any time soon. It reduces appearance of poors (niacinamide), stops me burning (spf30) and best of all, my skin looks balanced and clean with no oiliness or dryness. It spreads easily and without excess residue, doesn't feel oily, and the bottle lasts surprisingly long despite liberal application. Sticking with this cream now!

I bought this after reading lots of other reviews, so I hope mine will help. I have sebaceous issues and a tendency towards clogged pores, plus dry skin patches and the occasional spot. And very sensitive skin! Whilst this cream has not miraculously unclogged my pores, without doubt it has gradually, by the end of this first tube, made an overall difference to the tone of my skin – it kind of looks more even and less blotchy, and it feels softer and far less dry. After the first few days of use the top of my nose went really dry and I was a bit dismayed, but I persisted and a few days later the dryness vanished. Much to my surprise, this patch has now completely gone – really, honestly, no sign of it at all, and no sign of flaky, dry areas when I add make-up (it’s a great, non-greasy base for foundation). I wasn’t expecting that to completely vanish! I do think my chin is not getting quite as clogged as it was with an oilier-based cream, and although I have still had one or two spots, they’ve been very minor. I’ve not been using it round my eyes – I think I read not to use it on your eye orbits on their website – so I just use my usual Boots face cream there. I’ve had no sensitivity issues, so I’ve not had to abandon it owing to itchy skin. One tube of Effaclar Duo has lasted around seven weeks, using mornings under make-up and each night before bed. I’m just at the final stage where you cut the tube in half to scrape out the last bit before starting a new one. I am *very* pleased with this face cream and I will deffo stay with it now. I bought the La Roche Posay clay face-mask too, and have been using that once per week.
