La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser 200ml

I love the size of the product, and the packaging is simple and clean. For me, it didn't have a scent, which I like, and it worked well with my oily skin, which is a win in my book because sometimes I get breakouts. The thing is that I would use this to take off my makeup at night, and it never did a good job of taking off my Mascara or my foundation sometimes. I would have to use this like 3 times to maybe finally get it all of it off, or sometimes I would use another cleanser or micellar water to get the job done. This was my first product from them, and the price is a little high for a drugstore product and especially if it's not doing a good job of cleaning my face. I have been in facewash limbo for awhile, where I've tried tons of different products but didn't enjoy any of them. That is, until I tried this cleanser! I was looking for something more affordable and heard good things about this company, so I decided to take the plunge. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the thick texture. It is unscented, which is great whether your skin is sensitive or not. As soon as I used it to wash my face I could tell it was gentle and hydrating. It lathers well but stays thick and washes off completely. This cleanser leaves my face feeling fresh, smooth, and hydrated. I'm not sure how well this would work for oily skin, but if you have dry skin I highly recommend it! This will be my new go-to cleanser!

This product SAVED my skin-barrier. I have dry, eczema-prone skin, and I discovered the product when I was going through a phase of frequent breakouts and irritated skin. Switching to this cleanser and a simple moisturizer cleared it right up. I actually was initially using my sister’s blue bottle (the normal to oily skin version of this product) and it was making my skin too dry and tight. Things all lined up to have this be a very welcome addition to my skincare lineup in helping my dry and sensitive skin love something new and targeted towards it. Except, after using this cleanser for the past few days with my regular moisturizer and sunscreen, I’ve come to realize that the cleanser is sadly breaking me out. I really wanted and even still want to love this cleanser, in trying to excuse the effects of it for any other outside factors, but I sadly feel like it’s time for a return considering this doesn’t contain any active ingredients that should illicit a skin “purge” and it comes down to something in this breaking me out. I do highly recommend you at least try this in a smaller size if you have dry or dehydrated skin though, because I still hear that it works wonderfully for others. I also recommend you at least spot test it beforehand if you have sensitive skin, to see if there’s any reaction before continuous use on your face, in case it ends up working out for you!

I was using the Neutrogena exfoliating cleanser and when I would wash my face and neck yes it cleaned and my face way squeky clean, but I would wake up the next day and my fave and neck felt so oily and gross. I saw a travel size LRP cleanser at Ulta and tried it that evening. My face was so soft and felt moisturized. The next morning I woke up and my skin was so soft and did not feel like the Neutrogena cleanser made my feel when I would use it before bed. It works for me and i know it may not work for everyone, but there are different LRP cleansers for different skin types. Helped my skin come back

I always (for my 32 years of life) had a very good complexion that led people to compliment me and ask what products I use. I only used water to rinse my face and it worked for my skin. Then I got pulled in to using trending/popular brands for skin care. After a short period of using popular moisturizers and cleansers, my face had tiny red spots all over along with little bumps in my skin. I recently learned that I have sensitive skin, so my esthetician recommended I switch my foaming cleanser to a gentle hydrating one. I decided to give this one by La Roche-Posay a try because of the brand's great reputation. Unfortunately, this cleanser is not at all for me. Aside from the sensation moisturizing cleansers like these cause (reminds me of the CeraVe hydrating cleanser, which I hated), this one in particular caused my entire face to tingle, feel hot, and slightly burn. Immediately upon rubbing the cleanser into my face, my skin felt hot and my upper lip and nose even developed a numbing sensation. I would describe this feeling as being the same as when you touch a hot pepper and then accidentally touch your face. I love this cleanser! It is true that it does not suds up and feels like you're putting lotion on your face, which I can understand takes getting used to. But if you take your makeup off first, (I like to use oil cleanser/ cleansing balm), and you don't expect this to be your sole way of removing makeup, and just your face cleanser, this is amazing. I noticed that using other cleansers without that milky, lotion-y look, my skin was feeling stripped immediately after rinsing. I grabbed this to see if it would leave my skin feeling cleansed and hydrated, and it works perfectly. I started using this cleanser about a week ago. Yup that’s right, a week ago. I was having terrible acne that was hive looking and painful on and off for the past year. Turns out hydroboost by neutrogena is NOT oil free (note that). While searching for an oil free cleanser, I stumbled across this. I didn’t think it would help much, my skin was truly a disaster. Within a day I started seeing results. Two days the spots were gone. Three days the redness was fading. And now today I have NO new bumps. However for the past few months (since September 2023) my skin has been so dry and flaky. I literally switched my entire skincare routine in December 2023 then today January 2024 I picked up this face wash again in an attempt to double cleanse and my face went back to being dry, flaky, and itchy again. So I came to the conclusion that this was the culprit. Won’t be buying again and I’m not too sure what happened maybe they changed the formula since the first time I bought it.
