Lancome - Hypnose Mascara - 02 Brun

I notice a huge difference in the length of my lashes when I use this primer. I no longer feel the need to purchase Latisse and risk the color change in my pupils. I have learned some best practices for applying this product. Make sure that you remove any clumps with an eyelash brush before you begin to apply mascara over it. If the primer is clumpy, your mascara will look clumpy. However, I've noticed that if I brush through too much, I remove too much of the primer/lengthening effect. I comb through my lashes multiple times, especially emphasizing the lashes at the outer corner of my eye so that they appear to fan outwards. I have found this allows me to correct any clumps that I couldn't see before I applied the mascara because the primer is a translucent white. If the primer is totally dry and set, it is difficult to remove clumps. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but when I apply the primer to both eyes instead of one at a time, it makes the mascara application more time consuming because I am having to adjust to the relative dryness level of each eye. In other words, one eye will be drier/more set than the other by the time I apply the mascara, so doing one eye at a time makes it more consistent and easy. I only apply this product to my upper lashes. There are only two real drawbacks that I've noticed. By the end of the day, I find this primer does tend to be slightly crunchy feeling. It also can be somewhat drying for my eyes. These drawbacks are both worth the length to me.

A keeper

It also makes my lashes look significantly thicker than they already are and gives volume, but without the clumping I seem to get with so many other drugstore and high-end brands. The provitamin B5 in this formula is also a bonus, I believe it's that which makes my lashes feel softer once I've removed the mascara at the end of the night, as opposed to dried-out whenever I've used other brands in the past which didn't contain this ingredient. I bought the liquid foundation about 2 months ago. It last a very long time, as I just use a little bit. I will have to replace it within two weeks. The texture is so amazing and soft/silky with a little shine. I can control the shine with your face powder, which I like very much. The powder lasts longer than the foundation. The colour I use is the exact colour I need. I am born in Scotland, and have that light porcelain colour skin. Bad to sit in the sun. The colour I purchase in almost any product is "porcelain". I have used this product for many years. I stated to wear it when I was 29 yrs. old, same colour, but over the years I had to change the consistency, as I am at age 73 now. Holy Grail

I have asian lashes. That means they are stick straight. They also do not hold a curl from an eyelash curler. I have tried all the Lancome waterproof mascaras. Hypnose waterproof and Lancome definicils waterproof are my favorites. I am not a fan of spider lashes. I prefer the look of long, volumized lashes without clumps. Both of these mascaras do that for me. They also HOLD the curl! I took one star off only because after a 12 hour work day, I do find a little bit on my lower eyelash line, but it really isn't a problem. This is a great mascara for anyone who wants long, separated and full eyelashes without clumpiness that will hold a curl!

My new favourite mascara

I hate mascara. I've never found one I enjoy wearing that didn't either leave me looking like a raccoon by the end of the day, or just look unnatural - I;m not a fan of giant fake looking lashes. I typically tint my lashes to give them some pizzazz but decided to try this during the sale. I am in LOVE. The formula is smooth, goes on like a dream and wears beautifully. No running, no flakes, and just enough to wake my eyes up without looking overdone. I had several people comment on how beautiful my lashes looked and assumed it must have been tinting - nope! My only hesitation for future is the cost - it will pain me to spend nearly 40 dollars for a replacement tube. That's a worry for future me. for now, I am thrilled I decided to give this a try. Total game changer.

Never fail, long lasting, no clump mascara

I’ve been looking for a great brown mascara for ages and tried almost every other one I could fin, before finally trying this one. As with every other Lancôme mascara I’ve ever tried, this one just delivers. Can be applied with a light hand for barely there definition or built up for longer, thicker lashes. Whichever way you choose, it goes on smoothly, without clumping or flaking. No raccoon eyes here! The brown shade is beautiful - not to dark, not to warm, not too cool. It looks lighter on the wand than it goes on. The brush is nice and simple, and really lets you get to the lash roots and coat every individual lash. I love, love, love this mascara! I hope they never stop making it.

This mascara needs more positive reviews!

At the risk of hyping up this mascara so much it goes out of stock, I feel it’s in the interests of the greater good to let everyone know how brilliant this product is. I was given this as a gift from my partner and I was sceptical, but it’s now my holy grail staple product. I’ve tried a few mascaras in my time and this one is so far the best. It stays on for the full day, or doesn’t smudge (this was my biggest peeve with mascaras), it nicely separates the lashes and comes off easily at night. It’s buildable, so you can apply 2-3 coats for additional volume or you can stick with a single coat for a natural look. It doesn’t sting the eye following all day wear and it easily comes off with water or cleaner when ready. I am 65 years old and have used Lancôme mascara for 50 years. This gets the prize for being the worst ever. I prefer waterproof mascara because I wear contacts. It usually is much better about not flaking or melting into my eyes and causing a contact attack. Lancôme used to make a waterproof mascara called Aquacils. I used it for decades. It was the best, but they discontinued it. Then, I started using waterproof Definicils. That was pretty good. However, lately, the quality of that declined. So, I thought I would try this one.
