Lancome - Le 8 Hypnose Mascara

This is definitely the most luxe tube of mascara I’ve ever had. It’s absolutely stunning and reminds me of the beautiful perfume bottles I display on my vanity because it’s like a little sculpture. Lancome should be praised for elevating a product most of us use every day into an art piece. Now onto what’s inside the tube: the formula is pretty wet due to it being a mascara and lash serum hybrid, but not so wet you need to wait weeks for it to dry out to be able to use it without getting glops and smears all over your face. My lashes are thick, dark, and stick straight. I was able to easily build up their length and definition with a couple of coats. My lashes are thick, dark, and stick straight. I was able to easily build up their length and definition with a couple of coats. The brush is ready great for hitting all my lashes in a couple of swipes, even the ones in the corners of my eyes which are permanently wonky from being a side sleeper. A couple of weeks of daily use is enough to see the promised benefits of the lash serum ingredients, but I have noticed I don’t lose as many lashes when I remove it compared to other high end mascaras in the same price range. I love that it comes off very clean and easily with just a bit of micellar water because I have sensitive eyes and they get red and irritated fast with lots of scrubbing. The only potential fault I can find with this mascara is it’s not going to give you a dramatic result now matter how many coats you apply. My preferred lash look is natural but elegant, kind of a “my eyes but better” vibe, and Le 8 Hypnose definitely delivers the goods. Tl;Dr: the bottle is stunning, my lashes are looking their best but still natural, my sensitive eyes have no complaints, and my wallet wishes Lancome would come out with a travel size so I can get full use of an admittedly pricy product before I have to toss it out in 3 months.

The mascara is packaged in a gorgeously artistic glass tube, which is both a pro and a con - the material gives it some weight to it, the tube looks beautiful on my vanity table, but it is not travel friendly. The brush deposits a a good amount of rich, black color, and does a fairly good job of holding the curl through most of the day, making my lashes look more lifted, full, and fluffy, which makes me look more bright eyed and awake - the lift this gives my lashes begins to drop some around the 7-8 hour mark, which is good in my opinion. I can also get in a full work day wearing this serum mascara without it smudging or smearing. Removal is easy peasy too. I also noticed, to my great surprise, that my lashes look and feel longer, healthier since incorporating this in my routine. Before, I noticed my lashes falling out with more frequency than before but I’ve not experienced that fallout since using this serum mascara. I'm surprised, pleasantly so, that this non-waterproof serum mascara wore so well on my lashes. I will repurchase this one when I finish the tube. Highly recommend.

Lancome Le 8 Hypnose Serum Mascara I was so excited to be receiving the #Lancome Le 8 Hypnose Serum Mascara. When I opened the package, the tube was very elegant, pleasing to the eye, and substantially heavy, so I thought that this mascara was going to be silky smooth, and glide on as you layered it. When I pulled out the wand from the tube, I could immediately see that it had a nice eye-ergonomic teddy bear like brush. Then, I see that it appeared to have chunks of mascara throughout it. I knew I had to give it a fair shot anyway. So, I have my face already cleaned, and prepped for makeup application. I put the applicator at the root of my lashes and brush it up like any other mascara, and.... there was already fallout from the brush.... (I know not to pump the wand, because that only dries out, and shortens the life of your mascara.) I made sure to have it touch the entrance of the tube to try to clear away any "chunks". I re-applied, and it was still struggling to make a good coat or volume... It still had fallout. (This doesn't normally happen until mascara is old and drying out. I'm not sure if there is a defect in the tube I received, or what.) I had to end up re-coating, until my lashes were covered a good visable amount. The sad thing is, I had to use a clean lash separating tool to fix my left eye, and the outer corner of my right eye, due to my lashes starting to clump/stick together. I wore this mascara all of 7 days, figuring that it would work it's kinks out. I REALLY did want to like this mascara, because normally I LOVE #Lancome products; perfumes included. I would give this mascara 2 out of five stars, because they did a fantastic job on the mascara tube itself. The beautiful tube appears to be the only benefit of having this mascara, especially if you want to set it in with your makeup collection for looks, or Instagraming photos of said collection. I sadly would not recommend this product to my family, friends, or the public in general. I am so disappointed.

Better yet, the clean-up process isn’t one to dread as it comes off easily whether you’re using a little warm water OR your fave remover, which I cannot say for some of Hypnôse Mascara's peers. What's more, Lancome Le 8 Hypnose Serum Mascara uses shea butter and lash-enhancing amino acids which combine to provide simply stronger, healthier lashes as it conditions and strengthens. Innovative Luxury Mascara

It is hard to review Lancôme Le 8 Hypnôse Serum Mascara without mentioning the prestigious package. The box and bottle use the traditional minimalist Lancôme design, this time with shades of black and gold and the mascara is encased inside a heavy, glass (recycled) tube / bottle that instantly evokes images of luxury. The mascara is serum- based containing no wax products making it something completely new to the world of mascaras. Instructions state to "swirl the wand 8 times in the tube before removing" maybe this is where the "8" comes from? I watched a few videos to see examples but it seems there is confusion between "pumping" and "swirling" the product which should possibly be addressed on the instructions or at least on their website. One coat on bare lashes didn't make much of a difference. I went through 3-4 coats and achieved minimal results but the no wax formula made for extremely easy removal using only warm water and no lashes fell out or broke in the process. I decided to use Le 8 Hypnôse with a primer since that is how I always apply my mascaras. I've photographed each step keeping one eye completely bare for comparison, as I go through the steps. I "primed" the mascara first and applied 2 coats of XL Cils Booster primer. Before it could dry I applied 1 coat of Le 8 Hypnôse Mascara to both sides of my lashes. Not a lot of difference could be seen so I added two more coats and noticed the richly pigmented formula adding length and curl to my lashes. If you prefer a minimalist look and want to achieve it with a healthier mascara with promises of lash improvement over time, stop here and buy it! If you like the idea but want volume and thickness as I do, this formula works well with other volumizing formulas from Lancôme and similar brands. I achieved my better look adding a coat of Lancôme Monsieur Mascara for desired drama.

Lightweight and Clump-Free

The Le 8 Hypnose Mascara from Lancome is an innovative new formula that revitalizes your lashes over time with continued use. It is incredibly lightweight and comfortable to wear. It also happens to be the only mascara that I've ever been able to apply without getting it on my upper eyelid, which makes it practically fool-proof. This mascara has beautiful, buildable coverage and is completely clump-free. While this mascara works wonders at defining my lashes, it doesn't do much in the way of curling them. With this mascara being serum-infused, I have noticed that it has had a positive effect on the health of my lashes. I usually shed my eyelashes very frequently, but since I have been using this mascara, I have not been losing nearly as many lashes. This product is also incredibly easy to remove without ripping my eyelashes out. On top of all of that, the packaging for this product is absolutely gorgeous! The tube itself is actually made of glass. The thinner, flatter shape of the handle on the wand makes it easy to grip and apply the product. Overall, I highly recommend giving this mascara a try - especially if you are looking for a more lash-friendly formula.

Ok, but nor for me

I received the @lancomeofficial Le 8 hypnose serum infused buildable mascara from @influenster in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try such a high-end mascara. The packaging is beautiful! The tube itself is made of glass shaped like an hourglass and the top/wand is plastic. I've never seen a mascara in a glass tube before, it's quite nice. As far as the actual product, honestly I wasn't all that impressed. I haven't used it long enough to see any difference in my lash growth but as a mascara it's just ok. It does add volume for sure but no length at all. It has a weird textured formula, it's kind of hard to explain but when I apply it and look closely at my lashes you can see texture that isn't there normally. Strengthens my lashes

Lancôme's Le 8 Hypnôse Mascara comes in a gorgeous, black & clear glass bottle with a sleek and very elegant design! I was completely blown away by the fact that Lancôme has opted to create such a marvelous lash cosmetic container that has been made from pure + recyclable glass! Better for the planet + Better for my lashes! The mascara wand has a newer 8 shaped design that I appreciate greatly, making it easier to apply to each individual lash plus in the corners of my eyes! Much easier to grip, hold and use for my full lash application! It's ultra-soft vegetal fiber mascara brush smoothly coats all of my long lashes evenly separating each lash, for volumized, full-bodied lashes that I can customize my look from a more natural to a boldereye look! Incredibly, LE 8 HYPNÔSE MASCARA did not clump or smudge even when building! Two coats provided a full, dramatic look yet still looked natural. I would happily build this mascara up using up to 3 coats for a night-time, dramatic look. When taking the mascara off, it was easier to accomplish than my other mascaras. Warm water and cotton ball is all I needed! No harsh rubbing either which helps my lashes not to fall out anymore, thankfully! I had absolutely not irritation to my eyes or lashes! Overall, Le 8 Hypnôse Serum-Infused Volumising Mascara by Lancôme is the very best mascara that I have personally used! I think Lancôme has created a winner with this and i highly recommend it, even those with sensitive skin! New + different and BETTER!

You Have To Be In It For the Long Haul

I was very eager to test this product, as when it comes to mascaras - I’ve literally tried them all. Seeing as this mascara claims added benefits for consistent usage, I was intrigued. Now, if this was merely a mascara without the benefits of stronger, healthier looking lashes - I would most definitely be disappointed. In terms of the actual mascara, there are better, more affordable options on the market. I’ve had drugstore brands outperform this mascara in terms of lengthening, blackness, volume, and curl.
