LARQ - PureVis Water Bottle - Granite White - 740ml

I have owned my bottle for a little over a year. I bought it hoping it would be the last water bottle I ever had to buy. Unfortunately, it's not as high quality as I expected given the price. Not long after owning it, the rubber sleeve and rubber gasket under the cap both expanded, so they no longer fit flush and correctly. The underneath side of the cap has a lot of little crevices that are difficult to clean, resulting in dirty buildup over time. The rubber sleeve, while attractive when new, is actually quite annoying because it attracts dirt, sand, dust, etc. Now that it has expanded, it easily slipped off. I believe companies like LARQ ask customers to give reviews shortly after their purchases, so that it happens within the honeymoon period when nothing is wrong.

Average bottle with great tech on top

First the cons:The top should be slightly bigger to allow easier cleaning and for the addition of ice.The insulation is superb, ice can last days inside (without the addition of water). With water and ice you can easily expect to start the day and end the day with frigid water.The bottle itself is not special in anyway. I love the color I chose, but I was able to dent the bottle with only my grip. This isn't me bragging, I was about to lose the bottle over the side of our sailboat and grabbed hard to keep it from being lost. I snagged it but I now have a thumb dent where I snagged it. Which leads me to my final con for this water bottle. My kids and I tested the UV light on local pond water and yes it seemed to have killed everything in our samples, so kudos for actually working!As I mentioned I love the color and finish on the bottle esthetically. It is truly a great looking water bottle.So I have mixed feelings about this water bottle so far. It seems to perform the task for which it was purchased to complete. It also seems to be an untested product as I can't for the life of me think that testing wouldn't have shown the above cons that I have quickly found.Maybe Larq should focus on making replacement UV sanitizing tops for other water bottles? While the idea of a all in one purchase is much more appealing, I quickly see many other water bottles that I'd gladly prefer to use from my kitchen cabinet. Now if Larq only large made a replacement UV sanitizing top for my Nalgene wide mouth bottles?

Bad experience

Normally I don’t make negative reviews. But i recieved an e-mail asking me to make one, so here goes..When I recieved my bottle I plugged in the charger. The bottle lit up a light and I thought it was charging.The next day i tried to unlock/lock it, nothing happened. I held down the “top button” for 5 and 10 seconds.Unfortunately my bottle was not showing any sign of being charged.I then plugged it back in the charger and let it charge for another 24 hours.The bottle still don’t work.I then contacted Larq email support the 26th nov 2023.They were very polite and asked me to do 3 things including providing a video.I did all 3 things and provided a video.They have not replied back to me. Cheap material - not durable, not suitable for hiking

I bought this bottle to bring with me into the wilderness, so I could hike and get clean water along the way. The bottle does filter things altho it doesn’t make the water taste better, so if they water tastes funky from the stream it will retain the same taste. The main issue is the durabili, I had this bottle for less than a month and brought it to one multi day hiking trip, of course going up uneven terrains, it can happen that bottles slip, and hit the terrain, the bottle didn’t even fall down from a rock or anything crazy, but the cap was immediately DESTROYED. Disappointing

I recently bought an non insulated bottle for my girlfriend after I myself have had an insulated Larq bottle for 2 years. I have never had the need to deep clean my bottle and it has never smelled. My girlfriend loved drinking from my bottle as she always found the water from it “crispier”. We were both very very happy with it and thus I was super excited to surprise her with her own bottle. To my surprise, only a week after using it she tells me she needs to wash it as it smells. That caught me off guard but I indeed checked myself that it smells murky. We turned on the UV light multiple times in normal mode and adventure mode but the smell remained. Enjoying the clean water of my PureVis!

Overall, I'm really loving the PureVis bottle. I held off reviewing it until I'd spent some time with it (I've had it for about 3 months now and I I use it daily and I'm pretty picky with how my water tastes). I did some home "tests" between the PureVis bottle compared to other double walled vacuum sealed water bottles that don't have the UV light technology to see if there was a difference. In general, I find that most vacuum sealed insulated bottles are better at keeping water tasting fresher and less stale than any plastic/non-insulated bottles. With the PureVis, I have found that it keeps the water tasting fresher for longer and overall the stinky water bottle smell is moderately decreased even compared to other vacuum sealed insulated bottles (without the UV ... MoreOverall, I'm really loving the PureVis bottle. I think a filter is needed for that difference in taste (at least with the tap water in Alberta). I also prefer the insulated version to the non insulated (which I also have) as I like having cool refreshing water and it does make a difference during the day!Cons: I wish the bottle came in a bigger size (at least 1L which the non-insulated ones come in) as I have to fill it up multiple times a day and I like having cool water to drink. I also want to take it into the backcountry and having a larger capacity would be nice. I'd be ok having a bigger water bottle to carry around as I wouldn't have to fill it up as often. It's also quite slippery and I'm definitely afraid to drop it. I bought the Active Cap add-on in the end, and it helps though I'm afraid to hold it exclusively by the cap for longer periods as other reviewers have mentioned that it eventually stretches and the bottle has fallen out. The non-insulated version, with the silicone sleeve is much easier to carry and not as slippery. I also wish the cap came in other fun colours as it does take away a bit from the nice aesthetic of the bottle.Customer Service: I had a small issue with the first bottle as the UV light cap was malfunctioning. LARQ was responsive and after sending some pictures and video to demonstrate the defect, they replaced my bottle and I'm happy to say the new ones if working great!Overall: I love the UV light technology with the vacuum sealed insulated bottle and from my own personal tastes/experience, it does make a difference in keeping the water tasting fresher and less stale for longer. I also like that in a pinch, I can fill it up from a less desirable source and the UV light will do its magic (I've taken it on day hikes in the mountains to try and it's worked well in adventure mode). I'd recommend the Active Loop or the sleeve to help carry it because it is slippery though it would be nice if it actually came with the bottle itself!

Love Larq

I am a Larq fan. Bought my first Larq bottle about four years ago. I now have three different Larq bottles and a fourth one ordered. Gifted my daughter a Larq pitcher because she rents and cannot put in a filtered water system. I have a medical condition that makes me susceptible to bad things that can be found in water. Have water filter system at home. Fill my Larq bottles with filtered water and clean it further in my wonderful Larq bottles. Take my bottles with me everywhere. I used to buy cases of bottled water. No more! Now I have clean good tasting water all the time.

Love Larq but this one ain’t it!

I’ve been using a Larq bottle faithfully for the past year plus. I have the double insulated version, and it’s still going strong. I wanted a bigger bottle, and unfortunately this version is the only one with a larger option. It’s nowhere close to being as good a bottle. There’s no insulation, and within minutes the water is room temperature. The bottle also doesn’t seem to auto clean like my other bottle, and where as my first bottle never smells, this new one does often. I’d recommend the insulated version 100%, can’t recommend this one.

Review

I’ll give it a 5 star for the what it’s intended for. But my only complaint would be that one for how expensive these bottles are y’all could use better material. I’ve barely bumped these things and has left massive dents and scratches on it. Makes no sense to charge that amount to have very cheap material.When I first got my bottles, one of the lights didn’t work, the other was damaged. Customer service was very quick but I had to use my warranty on them immediately. I feel like those should’ve been complimentary. If I can recommend anything, get a sleeve for your bottle and a strap too. They’re very slick and nice looking, I get compliments all the time. But I have to Cottle this thing like a baby because of how cheap the material was.

I got the smaller size because the large one didn't come in all the fun colors and I kind of regret it now, I feel like the bigger size would work better for my needs. I'm a flight attendant and I appreciate I don't have to carry bottles of water for my hotel layovers and I drink tap water, cleaning it in this bottle. I'm still wondering if it's safe to use the bottle with tap water in foreign countries that don't recommend drinking tap water. So it's not really travel friendly, it can't be snapped on a bag handle, it's just to be carried in hand. It has a small O ring, but it's too small to be clipped on a bag handle.4) I can't see the fun color of the bottle and it's the reason I bought the smaller bottle.I just ordered the active loop and I hope it works better for my needs. I really just need a clip to secure it to my bag handle and to attach the AirTag to it, I can't loose this bottle like many others before!Please, redesign the travel case and add an AirTag holder to it .
