As Good If Not Better Than Niche

I'm a fan of Initio's Oud for Greatness, though it wasn't love at first sniff. In fact I was rather taken aback by that fragrance the first time I put my nose on it, having to dig through miles of perfumer's alcohol to find any semblance of oud. But over time, it absolutely grew on me - not sure if it macerated in the sample container, or if it just takes time to 'blossom' into the rich, mysterious, woody scent that it becomes - but it fast became one of my favorite fragrances. Although when I put Oud for Glory on one wrist and Oud for Greatness on the other, I could tell the differences (they're extremely minor differences) - a seasoned nose can tell that Greatness is just of a slightly higher quality. That said, I PREFER the smell of Oud for Glory. It's a bit softer, actually smells more well-rounded to me (I know many would disagree with this comment), lacks most of the medicinal/alcohol smell, and I just like it more on my skin overall. All while capturing 90+% of what makes Greatness so ... great. I'm also getting exceptional longevity and sillage, just as I did with the original.So as others have said, unless you are a collector purist and have the kind of money to buy the real deal, this fragrance (which comes in a total knock-off bottle - it's gorgeous and has a great feel and heft) - this is a no-brainer, get Oud for Glory. The notes are 98% the same as Greatness at less than triple the price of the OG OG.

Clone of OUD for Greatness - 95% accurate

This is a straight up clone of OUD for Greatness - bottle and all. It’s so close that any normal person will not be able to tell the difference. It’s is not as long lasting nor as complex as the original, and the spillage is not as great. But, it’s 95% there. So if you want a niche fragrance at $30 versus $400, this is a no-brainer.This is a unisex fragrance that has OUD (ie: not for beginners who want a fresh or blue scent). Anyone will smell like an elegant boss with this on (spicy, woody OUD, etc.). I am writing this review after experience it for more than two weeks. I found the presentation is nice and the bottle too. Feels premium and also the juice inside it. Made of kinda metal bottle. Cap is a bit heavy and feels premium while holding it. Talking about the scent. At first I don't like it much but when I gets used to it I started to like it. It's not strong at all and not offended and can be wear at all weathers. You can relate the scent with agarbatti or similar to that. Some say it's like Burn candy but the scent is definitely unique for someone who is not too much In perfumes. Longevity and projection is not good for me . I love this fragrance. To me, it does not smell similar to oud for greatness, maybe similar in the air. Oud for greatness is more refined, worked on and has a stronger lavender note throughout the whole journey of the fragrance, which I love. Oud for glory has less layers and doesn’t unveil the lavender note at the base.However, if I had to buy either one. I would choose oud for glory. Obviously the price tag is much easier on the pockets but in regards to scent I prefer this one more. It’s sweeter that oud for greatness so leans more feminine although this would work for both men and women. Not for me

This is super affordable and the presentation is phenomenal. The bottle is heavy with a cool soft-touch finish, the sprayer is incredible and even the box is nice. I have niche fragrances that have lesser presentation.I got this because it’s cheap and I want to see what an Oud fragrance profile is something I’d want to invest in. I was just dipping my toe in as an experiment. Nope. No, no. No. This is not for me. All I get is a thick cloud of sweetness with an admittedly pleasant saffron note. And it sticks. I did two sprays behind the ears, I even tried to wash it off at lunch to no avail. It hung around me like a cloud. I don’t get the woodiness at all. This is unfortunate because I REALLY love the underlying smell. In fact it might be one of my favorite scents. It complements my natural pheromones very well. I figured based on all of the reviews that this would have some projection to it but it may be the worst projecting fragrance I have ever tried. Perhaps it was just a bad batch (if so I would love to try a better batch but I’m reluctant to even attempt to purchase again given the weakness of this one). This is like water with a very light underlying smell of the cologne. It doesn’t even leave an oil on my skin. It just evaporates and runs exactly like water… I’ve tried tons of colognes and tons of clones of colognes. There HAS to be something wrong with the mix that I received. There is no way this was so highly reviewed of all the batches were like mine.

I recently tried samples of 25+ designer men's fragrances to figure out what I liked, and oud wood quickly became a favorite note, but none of the ones I tried were really doing it for me. Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir was the best of the bunch, but it was a little too loud to wear every day for me, it was very masculine and I wanted something a touch sweeter. On my skin, it opens strong with lavender and warm spices, but as it dries down I start noticing this amazing combo of oud, patchouli and musk. It changes a little after a couple hours, but it stays strong with oudy spicy patchouli and lavender all day. Despite it being called "Oud for Glory," I think the oud lies more in the background, but it holds this whole scent together really well. I was worried it would have too much patchouli but they've dialed it in perfectly imo. I wear 3 layers of gloves on my left hand at work, and two on my right, and I still catch whiffs of this stuff occasionally when I'm not expecting to. By far the strongest and longest lasting scent I've personally owned, but it's not overpowering despite that. I spray it once on each wrist, once on the chest, once behind my ear, and once on the back of the neck, and that is all I need to smell amazing all night at work. Can't wait to try it on a date! I hope they never stop making it! Very excited to try some others from Lattafa, I think Asad is next :)
