BUT"Metal utensil safe" .... instructions say metal utensils can permanently scratch the surface and invalidate the guarantee, so is this really true??"Dishwasher safe" ..... instructions say using a dishwasher will damage the surface, will be considered normal wear and tear, and is not covered by the guarantee. To avoid this, hand-wash, so is this claim really true??"Use only low to medium heat .... a high heat will damage the surface" ..... so frying meat and obtaining a good caramelized crust is not possible with this frying pan. So is it really up to the job???Overall, considering the price, it seems quite underwhelming and Le Creuset make some quite overstated claims.

Finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a set of three Le Creuset frying pans hoping they would last me a 'lifetime'. Two years later and two of them have lost their non-stick quality and are all but useless. I have tried contacting Le Creuset directly and they have ignored my emails - so much for good customer service! Nothing against John Lewis but I purchased them in their store, hence writing my review here. At the same time I bought a much cheaper easy glide wok - it is still in perfect condition which makes me really regret wasting a significant amount of money on a hyped up brand.

Great quality and design. The handle is attached with bolts and not fused and this makes it feeling strong and durable, unlike my other pan which broke after just 2 months. The non-stick inside is extremely smooth, you only need very little oil or butter for scrambled eggs. It’s expensive but that’s what you pay for, for high quality.

It only lasts one and a half years for us. All non stick feature is gone and now it burns so easily. Really disappointed, especially for the amount of money we paid.
This really is a first class pan. Nothing sticks to it. I also bought a lid (also Le Creuset) which fitted - both together mean that food cooks very quickly as it keeps the heat in and being clear glass I can see what the progress is. Everything cooks really evenly too.The pan is easy to wash too, the handle is very solid (much better than other pans I own). I simply wipe the pan with some kitchen roll then give it a light wash.I will definitely look at some other items in this Le Creuset 3-ply stainless steel range.
Le Creuset - what can you say, beautifully made, lovely to use and durable. I would recommend this brand to anyone. Slightly more expensive than most brands, however the quality is second to none. As for John Lewis, excellent service as always and in these difficult and unprecedented times they have not failed to impress.
We were bought the 28cm pan as part of our wedding list, under 3 years in, the non stick has peeled. After contacting JL customer service, I was asked to take the item to my local store (2hrs round trip). Here I was told that the 10yr guarantee doesn't apply to the coating, only the handle and base. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE SPENDING OUT. We have been offered the option to send the pan back to Le Cruset for an investigation, but it feels like a run around, I will be without any pan for a long time with no real conclusion. Pretty poor customer service result from John Lewis and Le Cruset. Not what we expected.
The non-stick started peeling away at the edges within 4 months and is getting worse so I'm having to throw it away as it ends up in my food in loose form. JL will not replace or refund as there is only a 30 day warranty. For an expensive and usually quality manufacturer this is beyond poor. Really don't buy it go for something else. There are other reviews making the same complaint.
After a year the non stick coating is peeling off around the edges and in the middle of the pan. Poor quality for the price of something that should last much longer than a year. Wouldn't recommend.
Prior to ordering, hoped that the positive reviews were correct. Need not have worried - the frying pan has performed extremely well. Minimal amount of fat needed. Food cooked perfectly.
