The pre-warm is recommended. Also the ceramic finish while highly glossed does retain a tea stain, but strangely not every time, and even sometimes survives the dishwasher. But they do come clean with a further rinse and dry with a glass cloth. That might be down to the slightly hard water I am supplied with?Expensive at RRP, but worth the money especially if you can wait for inevitable offers to come along.

Our Le Creuset cups developed dark grey lines around the inside rim soon after purchasing them. We purchased a lot of them and so contacted Le Creuset. On inspection, their quality control team said it was from stirring with teaspoons. This is ridiculous as such marks would then appear at the bottom of the cup not around the top inner rim. In the end, we think the marks are from the 3M green/yellow sponge we use when washing up as the rough side seems to be scratching the inner surface, even though the tag that comes with the cups says to use a scourer on the product where necessary. Now we only use a very soft sponge to wash them and not the dishwasher. The cups are made in both China & Thailand. The fault mostly affected the cups from China. Obviously the ... Obviously the manufacturing quality control is poor. Le Creuset replaced the cups but the same issue is returning despite extra care. Their Cup webpage says that their 'glazed stoneware is scratch resistant'. I expected a better quality product from Le Creuset but the brand is obviously not what it was. We would not buy Le Creuset again based on this experience and the quality control team's guesswork as to the damage's cause.

Absolutely love my new coffee mug. I bought two in November and have used them everyday since - 1 for my partners birthday and 1 for me because we both love the quality of Le Creuset products! ❤️I got the brown/maroon one because I thought it matched my cat! 🐈I will be getting my dad and brother in law a cup each for Christmas as they both also love fine pottery and coffee!🎄I think I will collect all of the colours one day. 🌈I would recommend this cup to anybody who values great quality craftsmanship… and coffee 🤓

I purchased a pair of mugs in eight different colours (not all from JL) and I wrote to Le Creuset because they had become rough and the glaze had significantly dulled.Le Creuset confirmed "Dishwashing tends to dull or cloud the enamel of our stoneware and cast-iron range, as you see with glassware, this would be classified as wear and tear and it is not covered under our guarantee."Is a two year lifespan acceptable for such a perceived high quality product? I don't think so....
I have been collecting these mugs for some time. Today I purchased two, in slate and chambray. However, when I got them home and compared them with my previously purchased Le creuset mugs from John Lewis I discovered that both the new ones appear much thinner. I assume this is down to value engineering. They certainly don't have the substantial chunky feel to them, which is disappointing. I hope this doesn't affect the quality.
I bought every member of my family a Le Creuset mug for Christmas. I chose colours from throughout the entire range, appropriate to the receiver. Even the kids loved their mugs! The glazes Le Creuset uses are spectacular - Dark Teal a particular success. Black Satine was judged too nice to be taken back to University - it would get pinched! John Lewis packed everything beautifully in a large box and delivered it to the relatives I was spending Christmas with. I then wrapped them individually. All of us were very, very pleased.
The quality of manufacture has greatly declined. In previous years, I have purchased the 0.35L and 0.1L espresso mugs that were of expected Le Crueset quality with a nice quality weight to them that nicely insulated the hot drink. These new mugs are very disappointing, the 0.35L is lightweight and does not insulate the heat well, and the handle feels smaller. I suggest no one buy any mugs that have a decal/stamp on the base, only those with the embossed brand name and mug volume on the base.If I had checked where they were manufactured, I would not have bought them and if I had closely scrutinised them the evening they were delivered before loading them into the dishwasher, I would have returned them. Love my nighttime routine which includes a Swiss hot chocolate before bed. I have a few large cups but wanted one that holds the heat & is big enough to not have to refill. I purchased this in colour black & I’m so pleased with it. It was safely delivered inside another item I ordered which made it more secure via transport. Recommend this mug all day long I now cannot wait for my hot choccie later. Thanks the hut for the super fast shipping, great prices & fab quality X
I absolutely love Le Creuset mugs, I have been buying them for years as they are such great quality. You can put them in the dishwasher / microwave over and over again with no issues whatsoever. They hold their colour really well and are so easy to wash, they also don't crack/chip easily. The 350ml size is perfect for your standard cup of coffee/tea. I love how they come in so many different colours - I have four different colours now. I'm on a mission to replace all of my mugs with Le Creuset ones!
Throw out all your other crap mugs and replace them with Le Creuset 350ml mugs. I am so glad I bought these. If $30 is too much for you, hang around for specials which will see you get them between $15-$18 like I did. Simply the best mugs to drink out of, ever. Big, well made, great insulating properties, and the stoneware is not too thick, not too thin. Wonderful.
