The date on my Charge TTi is Nov. 2012 so I have been using mine for more than 10 years. I honestly believe the Charge TTi is the best multitool you can get. Yes it's expensive but you get superb quality and Leatherman's 25-year warranty. It is strong and durable and has an excellent set of tools. I carry mine with a bit kit, extender, and sharpener in a case where I can add a ferro rod and other useful tools and I can deal with pretty much any situation. If you're comparing the Charge TTi with the Wave you get some extras, the main thing being the S30V steel blade vs the 420HC steel blade and the titanium scales vs stainless steel scales. You can't go wrong with either one but I will always recommend getting the Charge TTi. It simply does not get any better than ... This is an expensive, top-end multitool. I have used and owned other Leatherman products, and had high expectations. The S30V knife blade is good, but doesn't feel as sharp as the much lower quality 420HC steel on my Leatherman Rev (a budget line). Feels sturdy and it is mostly well built insofar as precision, albeit I expected some of the inner tools to be made of thicker stock, but in general, the build is above average. Mine came looking much closer to the one pictured in the schematic rather than the image of the one initially encountered on the TTI's product webpage, especially insofar as the brand and model engravings on the tool's titanium scales, with the exception that mine essentially has no blackened letters on either side, only the letters engraved within the scales themselves, whereas the schematic image at least has some blackening in the letters even if not nearly the same as the initial image on the TTI's product webpage above that one that you initially encounter when you load the product ... From what I can tell, the customer designs I bought were exactly what I ordered. The only issue is the metal inserts they were lasered that are attached to the scales are about the same color as the scales themselves, so there is very little contrast, and the designs don't stand out well at all, as the tool is essentially close to one big shade of gray. If I had known that would be the case, I'm not certain I would have bothered with the custom designs.

It may have made it's final River Transit as I plan to try out a Signal the next time. That said the Charge does well cutting me out of thick brush, cutting fishing line, making minor tweaks on my kayak or my crossbow, etc.The only complaints I have are one, the belt clips will not fit over a solid gun belt. This is why I went to the small fanny pack; over time my gun belt breaks the clips. Two, the tools folded into the handle make a serious pinch point.Leatherman makes tools that are better suited to specific purposes... but... the Charge + TTi is an excellent all rounder that you simply cannot go wrong with. This isn't the multitool you're going to use once and then toss in a drawer once you try an Arc or a Signal. Even if it's not your EDC it'll get put to use.
Decided to purchase a Leatherman Charge TTi. I wanted the titanium version so I could anodize it and have a more personal multitool. When I got the package I noticed right away that the bottom of the package was taped up as well as bent and torn in places. I removed the multitool from the packaging and again noticed right away fingerprints on the blades, the bottom of one of the scales looks like it took an impact from being dropped because there’s a small dent/chip in it, also found several decent scratches on the scales that will absolutely show up when it gets anodized. I’d send it back but unfortunately I travel extensively and work 7 days a week. I won’t be able to return this. I’m going to deal with it but I think this is ridiculous. Companies like this can’t ... Perhaps they're minor details, but with my Wingman, I often used the screwdriver with the tool wide open for max reach. Witht the wingman wide open, the handles are lined up straight with the pliers tucked into one handle - Charge doesn't do that. If the handles line up, the pliers stick out, or to keep the pliers tucked in, the handles aren't straight. The Charge also does not stay closed tightly in my pocket and kind of falls open, spreading it out more instead of staying compactly against the edge of my pocket. I have never had a quality issue with any Leatherman products until I got this Charge + TTI.Straight out of the box it rattled. Makes the tool feel shoddy and cheaply made. The mechanism more or less still works but there is slop and play between the spring and the lock bar. At minimum, it looks like it will require disassembly to bend or replace the spring. The other mechanism is OK and works as expected.I would not have expected it to leave the Leatherman assembly line with this defect/quality issue. I will contact Leatherman to get this repaired or replaced.
The best multitool money can buy. Sure, the ARC may have the new magna-cut blade steel, but is lacking the serrated knife with the gut hook which is really useful. I've had one for a long time (8 years, 10+ if you count my first one, whoops) and it's held up.The S30v knife steel is not so easy to sharpen if it gets gouged, so you could save a little money and down grade on that and the titanium, but to me it was worth the extra. I honestly use disposable razor knife blades mostly and only use the fancy super sharp leatherman blade for light duty precision these days. I can't count the times the bit kit and even the tiny screwdriver, (electronics, & as a probe), have helped me out of a jam. The can opener is great and still works after many uses. Plus, sometimes running home or to a store simply wasn't an option. Excuse my rambling.
Although I wanted to love this tool, bought to replace my SAK Workmaster as it’s sentimental, it has so many glaring problems and quality control issues it’s truly a disappointment.Right out of the box there’s some play between the halves of the multi roll when just slightly opened, and if you tighten the scales to get rid of said play good luck getting the knives out with one hand. This is apparently a common issue, seen all over in reviews and on Reddit.When closing the knife with the flat head bit in the bit holder the pliers will sometimes wedge themselves in between the bit holder and the side of the tool and become unable to close.
