This is by far the best multi tool I have owned. The quality of all tools is excellent as is the case and included bits. The S30V blade stays sharp as heck. The serrated hook blade works great for packages and cardboard cutdowns. As an everyday carry it gets used daily and shows the least ware of any knife I’ve owned. Is it a bit pricey for an EDC tool? Maybe, but the quality and reliability makes it worth every penny.

I’ve use the screw drivers once a week and no problems.I did try and use the eye glass screw driver as a drill through two layers of 1/4” leather and broke the tip, then it worked even better as a drill. I carry it on the clip in my pocket. I don’t notice it other than it being missing, which is good. When hiking I use the pouch which has the extender in it and long and short screw driver blades. I tie a string to the knife and belt loop when hiking. The charge is yet to let me down.

I lost my first gen charge tti, this is a replacement. I dont think my old one had the brass washers which make one handed knife access much better... Or maybe this one is just built better? Not a huge fan of the wire crimps in the middle of the pliers, but i can live with it I suppose. I wish there was an option to install the plier head from the wave to the charge tti.My EDC is almost full titanium so this compliments very well. The s30v primary blade is a great reason to get this! The old sheath did not come with little pockets for the bit kit, so seeing the new one can carry all the driver bits, as well as a flashlight (i carry the reylight pineapple mini in it) makes this whole setup incredible! Not to mention leatherman still makes their stuff in America, ... I started a new job in IT and though I have a full set of tools, it's not always practical to bring them on every job, or I forget them in the car randomly. I've used this tool at least once a day since I got it. Usually for screws on racks, or cutting zip ties, etc. Decent product. It's not something I knew that I needed until I got it. As a knife guy, I really appreciate the s30v blade. And the serrated blade with hook is something I use daily. Would recommend.
I used the wave+ for over 7 years almost every day, before that the sidekick for 5 years. I bought this to upgrade to S30v steel because I was burning through 420HC a lot lately. Firstly, I was upset that surge does not come with S30v because I wanted the larger frame. Overall I'm disappointed in what it is. The titanium handles flex more than expected, also it's slightly thicker and boxier both of which make it feel much worse than the wave+ which might be an improvement with someone with bigger hands BUT: The thumb release locks are more covered than in the wave+ so it's harder to close unless you have smaller hands. The blade steel, addition of a gut hook, and the pliers are an improvement on the wave+. But then I'm forced to deal with a tool that feels clunky to get those things. I was not pleased with this tool. I really wish Leatherman would offer a wave+ or surge with S30V. Or even better allow choices on steel type for a number of models. All the discrete parts are there, I don't know why more variety isn't offered
I have been using/owning Leatherman multi-tools since 1990 and have acquired many multi-tools since then, Leatherman and other brands as well. I have always preferred the Leatherman brand due to the quality, fit, functionality and engineering. My everyday carry has been a Charge TI for about fifteen years and I have been very pleased with it. I recently decided to upgrade my EDC and figured why not the latest and greatest Charge model.I ordered it from the “Shop My Exchange” military online store. It was delivered today. I have never had a quality issue with any Leatherman products until I got this Charge + TTI.Straight out of the box it rattled. Makes the tool feel shoddy and cheaply made. Although they are virtually the same, it makes me appreciate my old TI ... Although they are virtually the same, it makes me appreciate my old TI model which feels sturdier and better made I guess because of the rattling with the new one.Anyhow, turns out there is a problem with one of the spring loaded locking mechanisms. The mechanism more or less still works but there is slop and play between the spring and the lock bar. At minimum, it looks like it will require disassembly to bend or replace the spring. The other mechanism is OK and works as expected.I would not have expected it to leave the Leatherman assembly line with this defect/quality issue. I will contact Leatherman to get this repaired or replaced.
Just bought my first TTI. I have 2 Wave+, an original Wave, an original Super Tool, the Surge, and now the Charge+ TTI. Wish I would have gotten it sooner. Why have bought so many Leatherman's, well why not. I have to agree what they said over at Knives And Tools that the TTI is a premium version of the Wave+ and that this is Leatherman's absolute top model. It is worth the extra money to get the TTI. It is well made and heavy duty. I never thought that I would ever buy anything but the Wave+. Well now, I'm thinking I will never buy anything but the Charge+ TTI. I have the Leatherman on my belt everywhere I go including church. Over the years I tried not to put it on a couple times but that just didn't work. Thank you Mr. Tim Leatherman and job well donee.
I purchased my Leatherman almost 2 years ago and I have to say I’ve been very disappointed in it. I have not abused the tool AT ALL and I have snapped the micro screwdriver 2 times, the serrated blade once, and the s30v blade once. (If not twice). Like I said I am not hard on this tool at all but it has proven to be very flimsy. If I paid $40 for it then sure I’d understand, but this is Leatherman’s top of the line multi-tool… and in my opinion? It’s terrible, a complete waste of money if you plan on using it for anything that’s not *very* light duty. This was my 1st Leatherman and will definitely be my last. I heavily discourage anyone who’s considering buying this and using it in any kind of work capacity to get something else. This can’t do it. Also it is very ... I have been using this tool for a few months now and once broken in, it is very smooth to open with one hand. I like the fact that it comes with a better knife material and the S30V is very sharp. After some comparisons, my personal opinion is that the Charge is better than the Surge, although the Surge is the larger tool. the Charge has a more logical combination of tools, especially the screwdriver set. It has a large flathead screwdriver, a bit exchanger and a small eyeglass screwdriver. Whereas the Surge has two sizes of flathead screwdrivers and a bit exchanger, I don't feel that two sizes of flathead screwdrivers are necessary here because there is already a bit exchanger on the other side.As a matter of fact, I have needed to repair my sunglasses several ... There are less expensive versions of this tool, but the Charge+ TTi is an industrial work of art. The way the tools all come together is brilliant. The materials are first class. You have to actually employ and deploy each tool to appreciate the engineering that went into it. Parts subject to long-term wear are replaceable. The knife has one of my favorite blade steels. I carry this tool for contingencies. If I know the job I bring the full sized tools. Therefore, this amazing little tool should last forever ... unless I lose it. Note: it's heavy for belt carry and unless I'm on foot I carry it in my truck, in a bag or a bike seatpack.
