This knife was designed as a radical departure from traditional leatherman and multi-tool designs, like the FUSE(R), basically the aim was to develop, in a sense, a folding, locking pocket knife, with pliers, this design turned out to be a success, hence why I am writing this review, anyhow, onto the review part.first of all, I bought this to replace a multi-tool that I had "lost" (well, I couldn't find it, so I felt the need to replace it), this multi-tool/knife has a very good blade on it, I usually measure quality of the blade by how long it lasts at work while keeping a good edge, most blades will last me about 1-1.5 working days before I have to resharpen them, the blade kept an edge for 3 days while being about razor sharp. For those of you wondering, the blade does lock, and very securely too, so you don't have to worry about the blade snapping back on your fingers. The locking mechanism is designed with one hand open and close in mind. The knife is not very suitable for an extremely fast open like that of the switch blade or automatic knife. Anyhow, on with the rest of the features of the knife, it is constructed of stainless steel, so you don't have to worry about it getting wet and rusting, 25 year warranty, so if you somehow manage to break it, if you have the receipt, you shouldn't have a problem with getting it fixed or replaced. The pliers, are like every other leatherman, really handy, very effective. it requires two hands to open the pliers, but, if you are crafty enough, you can open the pliers on the skeletool with one hand. The belt clip also doubles as a beer bottle opener, (please drink responsibly), this works fine, just it may take a couple tries to clip it to the belt loop, if you are wearing gloves, or just not looking. Also has a pocket clip, that from what I can see, is very very well made, though I don't use it very much. The Skeletool also has a screwdriver built in, that has removable bits, mine came with the #1 and 2 Philips and slots heads. All the blots are tightened with a torque bit, I think its a T9, but I'm not to sure, best if you go figure that one out for yourself. A recommended buy with all pocket knives and multi-tools is white lithium grease. This helps the pocket knife or multi-tool close smoother, faster, and keeps everything tighter for longer. But that would be a totally different review. In closing, probably the best pocket knife that I've ever bought.

The Skeletool is light and compact, but has enough heft to not feel cheap. This is a well built tool with only essential items.Carry options include a carabiner and a pocket clip. I find that I use the pocket carry most - the tool is small enough that this is not awkward. The pliers are not huge, but big enough to satisfy most everyday jobs. The bit driver locks, which ensures that installed bits will not get lost. The spare bit stored in the handle is held in with friction, but it’s held in pretty well.

Been carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. And doing it in a lightweight package makes the Skeletool a huge win. I’ve carried a bunch of knives through my short lifetime, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, etc. and they’ve all been great knives and I still own those knives. But the convenience of having a multi tool that weighs a little more or as much as a knife I already have, plus having a similar footprint as said knives, there’s no reason I shouldn’t carry the skeletool everyday. Now is it perfect? No. If it had a pair of reliable scissors, like the ones from Swiss Army knives, then we would be inching towards perfect. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a ... MoreBeen carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. There’s a huge market that offers aftermarket modifications you can add to the tool. I’ve seen mods where you can add a hammer/pry tool to the end. And even seen guys add the aforementioned scissors. Possibilities seem endless. Should you carry it everyday in place of a knife? I don’t know, that’s up to you. But should you give a try and see how you like it? I’d say absolutely and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I bought this on the recommendation of a review website for including in a roadside emergency kit. So, while I like it a lot I guess in some way I hope that I actually never have a reason to use it. Though if I do I'm pretty sure it will save the day as it's an incredibly functional multi-tool and lightweight.
This Leatherman multitool has a decent selection of tools. The pliers are the highlight and the blade is razor-sharp There are 4 screwdriver tips from 2 reversible bits, one of those is nicely tucked into the handle. Although it's a Skeletool it's not as light as I thought. Now I'd like to find a case for it. The clip-on isn't my prefered style. Great quality tool
I had one of these for years and lost it. Finally replaced it. It's not the lightest for backpacking, but good for around town and car camping. There are also optional bits you can get for it. However, the particular knife blade I had some a small bit of damage, like the tip of it seems slightly bent. I didn't notice it until recently. Still deciding whether to follow-up with Leatherman or not.
I had this Leatherman tool for a few years and I appreciated the lightweight and functionality of it. I needed a plier/screwdriver combo for something a few days ago and realized that I didn't have any tools on me. Which is why I bought this Leatherman. It's far better to have the right tool and not need it then not have it and need it. If you're looking to have a Leatherman tool that is lightweight and durable then this is the tool for you. I have a couple other styles of Leatherman tools that I use often. I just like this one for daily use away from my work sites due to it's lightweight, functional size.
The simplest of the Leatherman mult-tools. It has all the tools I need: pliers, wire cutters, knife and screw driver to to the simple jobs. Anything more I get the tool bag. I like the smaller size/weight of this multi tool as the pouch dose not get snagged as much as larger tools. I gave this only 4 stars because it dose not take standard (1/4 inch) driver bits. The leatherman bits are expensive to replace and I would like to have a hex bit for some jobs.
The skeketool was a mini size instead of the normal size. I wasn’t expecting that. I bought it for my son for Christmas and was embarrassed when he opened it and saw it was not the regular size, like the ones he already has had.One question: Will you send me a free skeletool please? For myself, for the embarrassment on Christmas Day when my family got together to open gifts.I would really appreciate it very much. Thank you.
This is my 4th Leatherman. I’m on the hunt for the one that has it all and does it all but isn’t too big and is comfortable to handle. This is getting pretty close.I have had the Supertool for a few decades and it is great but the edges on the handles back then are a bit hard, which makes crimping a bit uncomfortable. The Surge is much better in that regard. And so is the Skeletool.I also prefer not to have to open the entire tool to get at the blade, like on the Supertool or using 2 hands, like on the Juice.I wouldn’t mind having scissors or a saw and a file, but then we get back into bigger tools or not a one handed blade design. So far I have had use for all the tools on the skeletool and have only really missed the scissors once. Where we have lots of scissors.Mind you, the blade is super sharp, so in most cases it can do what I need scissors for.I foresee this being my everyday carry for quite a while, with the odd time where I will bring out the Juice for an evening or the Surge for going places where we won’t have access to other tools.
