LED Lenser ML4 Rechargeable Lantern

I bought two ML4's to modernize my camping experience and no longer rely on gas. They provide great light, have a long battery life and are versatile. I keep one in the car permanently as a standby source of light e.g., for spontaneous picnics or a breakdown etc. We all have USBs in our car, so they are easy to charge.The build quality makes them good value for money in my view and a no-brainer.

Great light

I bought this lantern for use hiking, camping, and during astrophotography. First of all it’s stunningly small, the pictures really don’t convey the sense of size - it’s not much bigger than an old 35mm film canister. The light output on high white is brilliant, easily enough for a camp kitchen (if you can elevate it somehow) and too bright for a tent. The medium stage is better suited to a tent and the low stage for waking up in the night or in small spaces.It remembers the last colour it was set to (red or white) and turns back on in that colour at the lowest intensity. If you click it again within 5s or so it will cycle through the intensity settings before turning off, but if you leave it a bit the next click just turns it off. When it’s off, double-clicking the switch will take you straight to bright white light at the highest intensity.I like that it can run on an alkaline AA if I need it to, but I doubt it will last long that way.The proprietary magnetic charging cable is the biggest negative - it’s bigger and less secure than USB-C which is what most other lights of this class use, but it hasn’t come off yet even in the back of the ute. A magnet on the base would also be handy to add more mounting options. There is a faint luminescent effect on the lens of the lantern (like glowing watch hands) that’s meant to make it easy to find in the dark, but it seems to fade away to zero within a few minutes of turning off the lantern.I really like these - I bought two and wish I’d bought more.

It has a great finish, being made with materials of excellent quality and a very solid construction. The box includes the warranty term, a very explanatory and technical assistance manual. Ledlenser ML4 Rechargeable Lantern

A little smaller than I thought, but, wow, what a light this is! I like the 3 different white light settings, the 2 red light settings, plus the added photo-luminescent feature around the interior base. A nice, magnetic power connection for charging and a single battery to keep the weight down Led Lenser delivers the goods again!

Great little bit of gear. Perfect for a light you can take anywhere. And the added benefit of using emergency AA batteries when no charge is available is great.

Perfect lightweight lantern

This is the second one I have brought. It’s just the right size and weight for when tramping and hunting. So much so 4 of my friends have gone on to buy them after seeing mine. Can’t recommend it enough.

Small bright camping lantern

Small practical bright camping lantern. Whether in a tent, when cycling in the back of your backpack or on a dog collar during walks in the woods in the darker season. The compact size, the low weight and the uncomplicated possibility to hang it everywhere makes it very versatile. The included battery can be easily removed from the lantern and can also be replaced by other batteries. Otherwise, charging is possible at any usb-port with the charging cable.

Very handy

These are really good small lanterns. Really handy as they take up very little space and have excellent light output. Lasts hours on a charge at low settings. Expensive but the quality shines through. No pun intended...
