This is a Lego item so I expected it to be good and I was right. This item had been well looked after for its age. This was really well packed up so the box and all its contents got to me in perfect condition and a lot quicker than I expected. Thank you.

As you can see from the pics, I also have the first Lego VW T1 Van, and this T2 Van is a great follow-up. Improving in both complexity and design, this was an immensely enjoyable building experience. The attention to detail and the way they were able design the all the interactive elements was impressive as well. At first, I thought that the new VW T2 set was too boxy, but then I saw actual photos of the camper version of the van, and it made a lot more sense.Online reviews are overwhelming positive, but a few did mention what they felt were design flaws. I did find a couple of points in the build that they could have improved on. The front bumper assembly very easily comes off, so much so, I decided to glue it in place. Another concern some have found was that the top pop-up roof assembly bows ever so slightly. I didn’t have this issue, but as I was assembling the roof, I could see where the weak point is in the design. Lego should have added an extra layer of overlapping plate pieces to eliminate the weak spot, instead of the initial single layer of plate pieces. There is a small spring in the assembly that puts a small amount of pressure on the roof. I used a few additional 1x4 plates on the underside to strengthen this. I also added a couple of matching plates at the front to better fill in the gap between the cloth and Lego pieces. Besides those few elements, I thought the rest of the build was flawless.As you can also see in the pics, I added a roof rack to the van, which was another small complaint some had. In fairness the original camper version of the T2 Van didn’t come with a roof rack, but there is no place to hold the surfboard. So, using inspiration from my Lego VW Bug roof rack, I ordered the piecesfor the roof rack as well as the extra pieces for the front of the roof, from a third party. I tried a few different color and piece options. I wanted to preserve Lego’s design as much as I could and ended up with what you see in the pics.Overall, a very enjoyable and relaxing build, worth the price of admission. If you like collecting Lego’s VW designs, then you don’t want to miss out on this one.

Had a lot of fun building this set. Just the right amount of challenge. Details are pretty awesome. Pretty durable as well. My kids dropped it and only lost a few pieces. Real easy to repair.

We bought this Lego product for our 9-year-old, knowing that this would require some help. Admittedly, I was building more than him, but it was such a fantastic weekend family fun project and I had totally forgotten how satisfying it is to create something out of Lego. Great quality, easy to understand instructions and a stunning result! Highly recommended.
Its a fun build BUT it is a frustrating build as well. I have built many Lego vehicles and this one was one of the more difficult builds. That being said it is a must if you like the Lego Cars. I should add that I added a light kit which probably made it that more difficult but I am glad I got it to add to my collection. It was worth the frustrations
As posted by others really glad that I didn't let the 1 and 2 star reviews put me off. This was a great build without any issues. Following the instructions carefully I didn't experience any of the fragility issue others have written about.The finished model makes a fantastic display piece to go with the earlier Beetle and Type 1 sets.Hopefully there will be a Lego T25 or ID Buzz next to add to the VW collection.
This camper van is by far the worst build from Lego. Too fragile, falls apart easily, not a fun experience, instructions unclear. Never had this experience for a Lego product in the past. Very disappointed.
The item was packaged appropriately to prevent damage. Not like a previous item that was simply placed in a shipping bag without concern for the value of the item. I was really excited to receive item undamaged.
What another fabulous example of Lego and Volkswagens commitment in building quality adult collectable.I now have the Beetle, Kombi, and a Vespa, plus the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 on display with many other Lego creations and look forward to the next new relaese from Lego and Volkswagen.
LEGO have been stepping up their game each year. I remember what their sets were like back in the 80s and 90s and this set (along with many of their Star Wars sets) blow me away. I bought this set for my father who has a Volkswagen Vanagon Camper Van and he absolutely loved it. He is currently putting it together and he is in awe with the engineering involved in putting together the different sections.This is a must get for anyone who loves LEGO's, vehicles, or loves this style of camper van!
