This is the first Lego I built. Took me about 5 hours to assemble it. The building process is fun, especially when you twist the Shanghai Tower. The buildings are symbolic for Shanghai. I would recommend it to those who wants to spend their weekend time doing something interesting, but may not be ready for the giant lego projects.

I've built several of the Architecture sets and by far, this is my favourite set.First of all, there is no play value as it's meant to be built, displayed and swooned over. As a display model, it's gorgeous with the subtle curves and sculpting of the two taller towers. I also love the variety in the choices in style of architecture. Unlike the London set which had a mishmash of different scales, these representations have similar scales, as much as is possible at microscale, resulting in a much more pleasing display. From the perspective of construction, it's not overly hard for experienced builders, but there is a great variety of SNOT techniques and I learned a lot of new ways of building. It's a great set, even simply as a parts pack.Hats off to the Lego designers, you've hit a real home run!!

This skyline model simply is head and shoulders above the rest. Very innovative use of bricks especially on the Shanghai Tower (twisting building) and the Oriental Pearl Tower (the middle one with two globes). How did they come up with the twist?? It's a balance between getting the scale vs level of detail right but overall it looks fantastic up close and from afar. Took a while to catch one on the shelf at the store - this set is very popular.

This was my son's first go at the Lego Architecture Series. I was excited to see it because my son is from Shanghai. I love that the manual includes photos and information about the buildings. My son's favorite building is the Shanghai Tower. He likes how it twists, although it did give him a little trouble at first for some reason, snapping back around, but he figured it out. Overall, we were pleased with his first architecture set and he is proud to display his city.
this seller sells FAKE lego on Walmart website. item on the picture clears says LEGO but this is something else. i bought this Shanghai lego architecture set for my son's Christmas gift. SO WRONG.
Great! I brought this as a present for my girlfriends birthday, I don’t buy online, but had no choice for this item. I was really surprised how easy it was to order it and best of all, it arrived very quickly, had no problems at all. It was a great experience all round!! Because of this great experience I will order with use again!
My son loves the Lego Architecture series and finds them quite challenging. They are often hard to find but I find I can always get them from either Myers instore or online. I was lucky enough to get Shanghai and Paris this year for my son for Christmas as Myers had a wonderful offer if you purchased 2 Lego products. I had a very happy boy Christmas Day.
Building this set has awaken so many memories from my time living in Shanghai (5 years). The buildings are well proportionate and very detailed and well designed! The price for this set is great and worth all the money. Can't wait to see what Lego has to offer in their new skyline sets. Perhaps something from Sweden?
I love the skyline sets, though I do wish they were bigger! The finished product is really pretty. My bags were not numbered though - not sure if anyone else had that experience or whether it was a factory error in my box. I also had a few pieces missing. I had left over pieces from other sets that I was able to use an improvise, but didn't love the bags not being numbered.
The only 2 suggestions for improvement I have is to include the Jin Mao Tower (one of the original landmarks in Pudong) plus more detailed Chenghuang Miao Temple, Longhua Temple and Pagoda. I am less concerned about keeping to scale, than having more details of these beautiful structures. Perhaps Lego can release an updated version taking my suggestions into account. On the same note, I'd also like to recommend Lego create a new set depicting Xin Tian Di (plenty of structures there).
