This is a really good technic set, obviously even more so if you are into bikes. The design is good and it includes the shaft drive an telelever suspension of the real bike. I don't think anybody would be disappointed with this set.

My teenaged son has wanted this Lego set for years. It did not disappoint him. So many lifelike moving parts, and the included hover bike instructions provided a couple of additional days of fun. Then he put it back into the cover format, but may also modify it into a chopper for a while, just for fun. I am so glad I was able to find this for his birthday!

I did not expect this to be as much fun as it is.The model goes together quickly and the suspension is a thing of beauty. I was amused at the kick stand, never thought of doing it the way they did.The designer of this model deserves some serious praise. The cycle feels sturdy, and can take a fall down a flight of stairs.It looks great, feels sturdy and is more fun than I expected from it, greaat job Lego.

The instruction/assembly manual was precise and clear too with great computer images. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and I'm proudly displaying it on my work bench. I loved the detail put into the boxer engine as well as the Technic links to ensuring replication of the bike's own final drive (shaft). A nice surprise was the top and side cases which, like my real bike, were functional and brought the look of the model together. I was also happy to see that LEGO made an effort to replicate the unique shock and steering mechanism with the bike - a demonstration that it's not just any bike, it's a GS.My critique would be, given they had the space and a way to connect, is to develop and include an appropriate build for the main and pillion seat. Fun for me because Im into motorcycles and Legos. I have built the Lego Harley and am looking forward to the release of the Ducati. One thing that is not so great is that Lego spent a lot of time with BMW and Harley designing these bikes, but in that process forgot to make the pistons, which move, visible. This is also true of the transmission gearing. If one goes through the trouble to design something, it would be nice to see and appreciate it.
2nd time I have purchased these for grandson who is now 15. He loves Technical projects and this fits the bill. They come in many designs and each make a couple of different machines depending on the design they choose to make. You can purchase age appropriate machines which is nice. It keeps the busy mind of a child settled for a couple hours and even days depending on which Technic is chosen. Great for a parent child project or a project for just the child. Directions are easy to follow and they actually are functioning when completed. Only downside is the price can be pretty steep but in my opinion Leggos has come up with a great toy! Girls would enjoy putting them together also.
