However, I like the idea that they could become quite rare figures in the future due to their minor role in the events of the movie and the fact that we may not see them again. The figures are all nicely detailed with great choices of weaponry and overall are must haves for collectors and fans alike.PLAY VALUE:Very, very good play value, spending endless hours "flying" this ship around my house.Personally, I am not one for play functions on sets and I sometimes feel as though some detail is sacrificed for the addition of a flick fire missile. However I am delighted with the functions of this set! The spring fired missiles are built very neatly into the front end of the ship and they're firing mechanism is equally as neat. The secret cargo hold is also very well designed and I really like the idea of hidden play functions that take me time to discover. The set is also an excellent display piece (due in part to the hidden functions) and takes pride of place on its very own shelf in my room.THE FORCE AWAKENS:The set stays very true to that of the movie.Although on screen, very little has changed between The Force Awakens and the last time we saw the Falcon in Return Of The Jedi. I enjoy the new satellite dish and the subtle additions such as the cargo hold for Rey and Finn to hide in.I would have liked for the pieces to be printed, but the stickers provided were easy to apply and are accurate to the aesthetic of the movie.TL;DR:Overall incredibly happy and this Millennium Falcon, along with its minifigures, is one of the highlights of my LEGO collection and I would recommend getting this set before it disappears.

As a 32 year old man I have not built a Lego set for nearly 20 years. I received this set for Christmas after dropping a few subtle hints and I've loved building it. I am not a Star Wars fanatic but some of the Lego vehicles looked too good to keep passing up on.Lego always seemed so expensive for what you get, but this is a great value model if you want a nice looking set that you can also play with (at 7 months old my son is far too young but he'll enjoy it in the future). The build itself took between 6 and 8 hours as I tried to take my time and enjoy it as much as possible. None of it seemed particularly repetitive other than perhaps the sections that make up the sides. However these are such a graceful and imaginative feature it really didn't seem tedious. The ... None of it seemed particularly repetitive other than perhaps the sections that make up the sides. However these are such a graceful and imaginative feature it really didn't seem tedious. The build goes through 4 nice sections, the base, the interior, the walls and finally the roof and mandibles. Despite the expense the quality of Lego is far better than I ever remember as a child and it really does feel like there is magic in those plastic bricks. Some people have grumbled about the amount of transfers on this set. I didn't mind putting them on but make sure you're in the right mood and concentrating otherwise you'll make a mess of them! Thankfully the cockpit is printed, otherwise this would be a nightmare. Along with the detailed interior and number of minifigures I can see myself and my son having hours of fun with this. It's nice that Chewy has a shooting crossbow and the front lasers fire. I'm not sure that Han is having a great time in my Falcon though as he keeps getting shot in the back by Chewy. As a model it looks good, however if I was being critical I would say that the back end looks great, but it falters a little at the front. The mandibles seem too small and the cockpit too big. As Chewy can't fit in alongside Han Solo I think it would have been better to make a smaller cockpit for one character that started further back and perhaps the mandibles taper in from the next section back so that they are a bit more in proportion. However I wouldn't let this stop you from buying the set, it still looks great (although my wife for some reason doesn't think it makes a great living room ornament). All in all I am really happy to have received this set. The pleasure of fitting blocks together and eventually coming out with such a great looking model is now as addictive to me as it was when I was a child. I even felt a little depressed as the build came to a close which is why I suppose people get so drawn into collecting and building so many sets. So it's the Red Five X wing for me next (yes I managed to find one) and if that's anywhere near as pleasurable to make as this I will be very happy.

Built this afternoon and it's... meh.I should point out that this is my first Falcon so I can't comment on the similarities between this update and the last set, although there are a few things I think could have been updated better from even a cursory glance at the previous edition.Minifigures: Great wee selection of figures, I like the mix of Han and Chewy with some new characters, just enough to get buyers hiped for the new movie but also letting them feel comfortable with what they know. The detailing on each character is excellent. Only one I'm not sure sure about is the droid. It seems way too small compared to the other astromechs in the Star Wars line, ironically putting it in better scale with other minifigures but it feels tiny when you put it next to an R2-D2.Build: A fairly fun build experience, not the most enjoyment I have ever had. Warning: there are a lot of stickers and they are blinking annoying as usual. However a couple of really nice pieces such as the chess-board which is nicely made from a shield. The level of detail on the interior of the finished model is great, some fantastic opportunities for play, and although some other reviews have mentioned Chewy is too big for the cockpit I had no trouble whatsoever fitting him in. The exterior of the model is okay I suppose, although for some reason the designers have chosen, as in the previous model, to make the prongs at the front very small and out of proportion with the rest of the ship, which frankly ruins the whole thing! In my opinion the midi-scale Falcon is still the best representation of this iconic craft (apart from the UCS version which is... how much!?).If this is your first Millennium Falcon then I say go for it, it's certainly a nice set, although for the hefty price tag I would have expected some of the flaws from the previous edition to be sorted out better. You get some nice minifigures and a taste of the new film to come, but in all honesty if you don't buy it you won't be missing much.
My birthday was just the other day, we live in Brazil, but my wife was in the US visiting/working beforehand. My son, 7 years old, was talking to her on Skype, just the two of them, and telling her she should buy me a Lego Star Wars set for my birthday. Well, she got this one!Of course it was for the two of us to build together, with the 9 numbered bags. The instruction manual is HUGE, a book, but I think it is well detailed. Like others have said it could use some things marked here or there to see for sure which pieces go where.I think it's a great set for the number of pieces and how long it takes o put together (I got it Tuesday and it took until Friday afternoon to put together, but mostly a little per day and with help from my son, so maybe 5-6 hours ... It was fun doing it together, but he got a little bored towards the end (it days say 9-14 years old). It's great how much space there is so you can put characters in different areas. I am still confused as to he brick that sits on top of one of the beds (the medical bay and it's a medical droid????).Overall it's great but I have two issues. One is that the little flaps that open and close don't always close right and sometimes get on top of each other. It's small, but just a tiny push and it's down. The other is bigger and I have seen others complaining about this: the front piece of the cockpit does not go on correctly. I have tried and tried since I got it but it just does not stay on correctly. I think in the end I'm going to super glue the tip on because you can still take the cockpit off and all that way, and you don't have to worry about losing the piece. I just worry that the glue could cloud the view if I don't do it just right. So overall great, just the flaps and the cockpit front that others have complained about. But I'm looking forward to playing with it lots with my son, and all the other Legos we have together!!
This is a Force Awakens reworking of the 2011 Lego Star Wars kit 7965 (Original Trilogy Millennium Falcon). I think it is an improvement on the previous release (more textures and colours to both the interior and exterior; spring-loaded bolt shooters instead of the flick cannon concussion grenades), with some of the same minor annoyances (the underside still looks sketchy and incomplete; the scale to minifigures is not quite right - squeezy cockpit and hidden compartment; the two seater laser turret is minimal in design; etc).I am very pleased with it though. The seven new minifigures look great - Old Han and Chewie, Rey and Finn, BB8, are all delightful, and the two Kanjiklub gangsters are useful in a general Lego sense; the interior features are sufficiently ... There is a lot of play value in this kit. While Star Wars puritans may dislike the floor plan and scale (they might prefer to modify Lego Star Wars kit 5197 UCS Millennium Falcon, for instance), 75105 is a decent compromise between size, value for money, and playability. It is currently the pride of my Lego Rebel Fleet :D
I thought that The Force Awakens was a pretty good movie. I really like 'Old Man Han' except for the one part. The Build(s): I thought that for the price range this set was pretty good. I'm not sure if I built it wrong (that's probable), but it was flimsy and I kept having to push one of the plates down. I didn't like that you couldn't sit two minifigures in the cockpit side-by-side. However, the turret setup and hyperdrive were both very good. The Minifigures: Han Solo / I wish that his face was more detailed, but other than that he was pretty well done. Chewbacca / He is well designed, but I want a Chewbacca that has a satchel. Maybe molded into the torso peice? Rey / Very good. Her desert clothes are sweet. The hair is very accurate and cool. The silver blaster is neat as well. Finn / The jacket is cool, but, c'mon, no leg printing? And I think that LEGO should start doing straps for the guns. Tasu Leech / I thought that he was very well done and accurate. My only problem is that his hair was just a black Qui-Gon peice. Crokind Shand / This is my favorite figure of the set (after Han). His detailing is super cool and the beanie is legit.Final Verdict: If you want to collect all the Falcons then get the set. If you want to collect all the Force Awakens figures then get the set. If you want to spend hours building get the set. But if you don't care about any of that then forget it. It isn't even that good of a set. LEGO should stop making all these Star Wars sets. They are just rehashing old sets. I love Star Wars, but they should be channeling their work force into making new X-Men sets. Especially Wolverine. That would be awesome!Be well. God bless.
I have always been a fan of the Millennium Falcon and since the Apollo Saturn V was not available at the time, I decided to pick this up instead since I was in the mood for a build. I had previously built a Y-Wing and figured that at 1,300+ pieces, this would be a good intermediate build for me since I have never built anything that large.I had seen this kit on display before, and was not a fan of how the body of the ship was designed... those fears quickly dissolved once I started building, and saw how solid the design was as I built the ship. My one problem is that the "smuggler's hold" kept falling out. I solved that problem by using a few of the leftover extra parts to make a tighter fit. I've moved the model a few times since then, and the part has not fallen ... I've moved the model a few times since then, and the part has not fallen out. Problem solved.I also deviated slightly from the instructions in a few areas. Since I had a some left over parts from this and other builds, in the spirit of how the designers at ILM created the models for the original films, I did a little kit bashing on the exterior parts that open up, adding a little extra detail to the exterior. The other mod was: I had to put Han and Chewie in the cockpit, and because Chewie was too big, that took some work. I had to remove Chewie's legs and attach two little pieces under his body so he would stick, and I had to pry one of his arms off... but as a fan of the original films, there was no other way to set up the minifigs. All in all, this was a fun build, and I highly recommend it. Next stop, Apollo Saturn V...
The Millennium Falcon is one of the most iconic ships from the Star Wars universe, from 'What a piece of junk!' to the 'Fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!', and it plays a pivotal role in The Force Awakens.Every time Lego bring out a new Millennium Falcon they improve it and The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon is no exception. The model has a brilliant, sleek design with a load of detail on the inside and out. The inside details include the Millennium Falcon's hyperdrive, seating area for the passengers and crew, the dejarik (holochess) board, sleeping quarters, Han Solo's secret smuggling compartments, and plenty of crates, boxes, wires, and tubes to give the Falcon it's famously untidy appearance. The cockpit can seat two minifigures and includes the Falcon's controls. The exterior of the Millennium Falcon is again highly detailed. Each of the flaps making up the exterior can flip up to reveal the interior which is an excellent piece of design. The detailing is amazing and completes the Falcon's famously shabby, untidy appearance on the outside. What makes this Force Awakens Millennium Falcon different is the radar dish. In Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the Millennium Falcon lost it's round radar dish. This has now been replaced by a curved rectangular dish. The Millennium Falcon also comes complete with its quad cannons. The quad cannon on top can lift up to reveal seating inside for two minifigures to control the cannons. At the front of the Falcon are integrated two laser shooters, which add to the fun and playability of the model. The build is very enjoyable although slightly challenging. The finished model looks amazing as both a display piece or for playing and acting out all the scenes from the Force Awakens. The minifigures are truly fabulous and are all movie accurate! Included are Rey in her Jakku outfit with chrome blaster, Finn in his black Stormtrooper outfit with a Resistance jacket, an older Han Solo with famous blaster, Chewbacca with a new and movie accurate cross-bow blaster that can shoot studs, Tasu Leech and a Kanjiklub Gang Member. If you've seen the Force Awakens then Tasu Leech and the Kanjiklub Gang Member are included for reason and it makes sense that they come with this set. Finally we also get BB-8 who is a very lovable and loyal droid of the Resistance. This set is extraordinary in both design and detail and is a must have to add to any Star Wars Lego collection!
I grew up on the 80's Space Lego sets and Star Wars. I've wanted to get the Falcon from the first time I saw it in Target probably 20 years ago, but I could never justify it either in budget or living situation. Now with the VIP program and a young nephew to buy Legos for I was able to build up some reward points and finally justify it in the budget. The build itself was fun, there were a couple of tricky parts where I had to force myself to focus, but I was watching Episodes 4&5 during the build. The detail included in this set is amazing from the holo-chess board to the captain's chair in the main cabin where Han holds court, the hidden smuggling compartment, and the ramp, all are excellent. The detail included in this set is amazing from the holo-chess board to the captain's chair in the main cabin where Han holds court, the hidden smuggling compartment, and the ramp, all are excellent. I wish the cockpit was a bit bigger and more detailed because that is where a lot of the action in the movies takes place. The only other minor gripe might be that there isn't really a gunner position for a mini fig, but with both of those things it would have made the set almost twice as big and twice as expensive, so it's all good. I really like how much open space there is inside the ship with different places to have the figures carrying out different tasks, and if you have multiple Star Wars sets you should have a lot of the other mini figs to recreate many of the scenes from any of the movies. It's a very sturdy build that can stand up to some rigorous play when the kids are around to play with it, and the centerpiece of my now growing collection. It is absolutely worth full price if you can afford it, but with some VIP points or on sale it's an absolute steal. As a display piece it's beautiful, but it also offers a great deal of play value and a rugged construction to handle almost anything an 8 year old can put it through short of a flat out drop on the tile floor. It may have taken me 20 years to pull the trigger on the purchase, but I'm glad I did.
