By far the best Lego I’ve ever bought - and maybe ever made!

Challenging enough to enjoy. There’s almost no repetition, nothing is really symmetrical. It has amazing detailing like most of the other UCS models. I really like that you can change the satellite and characters to match the movies it’s been in. The level of details is amazing, it is surprising in fact in many cases... The only minor "disappointment": no barrels, washtubs or wheels used for engines The characters included are great; Chewy’s bowcaster shoots little red bits. In a word... magnificent. Approx 30 hours to build over a week - worth it! Definitely for collectors, and not as kid's toy - can't really play with this. Worth shopping for parts to build a dedicated effermans stand. If you can, buy it!

Exceptional building experience!

In trying to assemble the port side of the nose cone, I found it difficult to attach the clips to the body without the frame falling apart. I attempted to examine the structure to make sure that there were no parts missing to stabilise that part of the structure, but in all, I just needed to be careful, hold the part strategically whilst putting it in place. The starboard side the the nose cone was easier.I also found it a challenge to move the falcon around whilst assembling; especially as it grew in size, like a puppy grown to a full sized Great Dane. If I held the wrong part whilst turning it, something would fall off. Very frustrating indeed!Furthermore, I got to the end of the build only to see that there was a picture on how to hold it. Although this was showing how to move the whole falcon, it would have been useful if something like this was placed at the front of the instruction manual.Nightmare moment:When I dropped my iPhone 11 Pro plus onto the falcon from the tripod that stood above it! Aaaaahh! The damage wasn't too bad and I identified the parts that fell off to put them back, but I can safely say that my heart is a strong one after that endurance test.Build time: 29 hours!Sat with no more than 1 hour per day over several weeks but not every day.The reason for this was not only do I love savouring my Lego builds, like enjoying fine dining in a Michelin star restaurant, but sitting down for too long is not an option because I have a spinal condition that I have to manage. You would never believe it if you saw my crazy, but beautiful self, but such is life. Also I probably could spend longer by utilising my sit to stand desk, but compromising my office space also wasn't an option because I still needed to work from home.I had started the build on an alternative table that folds out because I knew it was huge and I didn't want to move it during the build. I'm glad I made that choice from the start and kept my Falcon where it was from the beginning and I would recommend anyone decide early as well. Moving this beast wouldn't be a pleasurable experience. My choice of display:I have always been interested in seeing how other Lego enthusiasts display their builds, and I don't see many reviews on this, but I will give mine for my own situation, just because I'm annoying and like writing.I have a small study that I have overtaken with Lego. I will eventually be converting my double garage to a library/home office/Lego warehouse for my displays, but until then, I am utilising what I have.I started displaying my Lego on floating shelves, and then moved to display cabinets. However, the Millennium Falcon is so big, those would not be suitable. I researched other display cabinets but non would fit the huge structure. I needed it to be elegantly displayed, with thought.I have purchased display cases in the past and explored this option, but my mind would play tricks on me, and I ended up fantasising on how many more Lego sets I could buy with the cost of the case. Like I was actually Gollum tapping my perfectly manicured nails together whilst whispering ''my precious!'I researched glass coffee tables, and I even considered cutting an alcove into the wall, as well as putting a sheet of glass in my cupboard above my stairs to display my Falcon within it. I opted not to do that because my skilled in DIY is limited and I'm not prepared to lose storage space as yet.I looked at various display cabinets but ended up purchasing two glass console tables with the view to displaying my Millennium Falcon on the top or bottom shelf. It took ages to find it because I needed it to be a specific size that didn't overhang the door frame. My look is intended to be an organised chic...with a little luck!I looked at different stands, but I settled on the Lego stand because other display stands overhung the width of my new console table. I felt that if I was uneasy with having it stand on the top shelf, I would remove the middle glass shelf and display it on the bottom shelf. I will try both and see what I prefer. Quite frankly I would like a nice background for my zoom meetings. Good talking point...'let's talk Lego!'Conclusion:Exceptional Lego buildWorth the moneyTakes hoursMajestic in grandeurNot for playing but for displayingBy LetMelLego

I have to say I agree with many of the three-star reviews, I have been a Star Wars nut my entire life (42+ years) and a big Lego fan. I saw the UCS Falcon on sale two or three years ago in a local department store and dreamt about buying it for a long time. COVID hit and I was stuck at home and very bored. I purchased probably about 20 star-wars Lego sets over the course of a one year period both large and small (including other UCS) which I thoroughly enjoyed building, and finally I purchased the big one! My partner was very reluctant for me to embark upon my new hobby when he saw the price of the Lego! Eventually I purchased the UCS Falcon on Ebay for 1,500 Australian Dollars, 300 dollars more than the Lego store (who were out of stock for many months and didn't know when they would restock). The first thing I will say is that the final product looks simply wonderful as a display item. The level of detail is breathtaking, BUT it is extremely badly designed compared to other sets (including other UCS – The Star Destroyer is much more sturdy in design, for example). Pieces fall off the Falcon even from gentle knocks. My set is displayed in my study next to a window. One day I pulled the drapes across the window and it gently brushed the Falcon and a whole back portion fell off. Often I am left wondering where the piece fell from and spend hours trying to put it back together. The interior design is appalling with two spaces not even properly designed as interiors. Corridors are simply stickers. Complete lack of imagination and very disappointing. The back panels are very flimsy and one piece is not attached to anything at all. It is not possible to lift the model (even as directed by the instructions) without at least one or two pieces falling off. I defy anyone to lift it as instructed without losing a piece or two. The instructions don’t tell you this.I would never allow any child near it as pieces would definitely fall off or even be lost.I am very surprised that there have not been more comments relating to the lack of durability.Lego really needs to consider a redesign of this model with durability and sturdiness as top priorities, together with some imagination around interior design.Leaving out Obi Wan and R2 was also foolhardy. Fortunately, I have a couple of Obi Wan’s and R2’s from other sets and swap them over to be in their rightful place on the Falcon.I did have tremendous fun building it and the final look is simply great hence the 3 stars, but the drawbacks are too many for me to give anything above 3 stars.Other UCS sets that I have including the Star Destroyer (75252), Mos Eisley Cantina (75290) A-Wing (75275) and Tantive IV (75244) are much better and much sturdier designs which shows Lego are capable of designing solid items.

If you read negative reviews read this!

All around this set is absolutely amazing, the level of detail is incredible and it is hard to truly appreciate it until you finally take a step back to admire the finished product. I have been watching this set for years now wanting it so badly and I finally got it and do not regret it a single bit. It is very expensive but you get what you pay for the quality is there, (only thing I wish it had is R2 and rotating turrets) but honestly those are tiny issues compared to how amazing this set is. It reignited my interest in Star Wars as I rewatched the series while building it, and definitely made me addicted to LEGO once again.I read the negative reviews and know people talk a lot about pieces not fitting on properly, honestly I had this issue until I looked back ... MoreAll around this set is absolutely amazing, the level of detail is incredible and it is hard to truly appreciate it until you finally take a step back to admire the finished product. It reignited my interest in Star Wars as I rewatched the series while building it, and definitely made me addicted to LEGO once again.I read the negative reviews and know people talk a lot about pieces not fitting on properly, honestly I had this issue until I looked back on a couple steps, it turned out I had just misplaced a single piece by the slightest amount, either way I fixed it and it now works perfectly! Everything is super sturdy if done correctly, so sturdy that I felt confident ordering a stand that places the falcon on about a 70 degree angle! On the topic of missing pieces, I also thought I had some pieces missing but it turned out I had just used some wrong pieces in a previous step (some look very similar so be cautious about that) but no fault on LEGO's end. This set was so much fun to build from start to finish, even though it was long, there wasn't a single second I didn't enjoy, I loved it so much that I bought a tie fighter to put behind it to recreate one of the many chase scenes (and yes it looks amazing, I highly recommend as tie fighter 75300 is basically free with the points you receive from this set). Even now I am looking at more Star Wars sets to buy (LEGO if you want to donate me some I wouldn't object hahahaha), but either way, SO WORTH THE MONEY, if you buy this you wont regret it, just take your time and enjoy the most amazing build LEGO has to offer!

Incredible experience

This set will surely be the centrepiece of any collection, and has a build experience like no other. Even opening the packaging is a joy and thought through relatively well (despite the bags being spread across 4 boxes in no real order). Its size and detail cannot fully be appreciated until seen in person. A fantastic achievement by Lego to recreate such an iconic ship at this scale and with this much detail. This version of the UCS falcon improves on virtually everything since its predecessor. The figures are outstanding, especially the alternate head prints for Han and Leia. One of the major advantages of the set is the inclusion of two radar dishes along with crews from Episode 5 and Episode 7, which allows the builder to choose their favourite falcon set up. One of the major advantages of the set is the inclusion of two radar dishes along with crews from Episode 5 and Episode 7, which allows the builder to choose their favourite falcon set up. The inclusion of interior space, though somewhat limited, is incredibly well done and includes key features of the ship. There are other hidden features for the builder to enjoy that I won't spoil in this review. The inclusion of many printed pieces over stickers is welcome, but there are still some larger stickers that can be tricky to apply. In a UCS set of this price, ideally there would be no stickers. Another disadvantage is the fragility of the set as panels are attached rather loosely - be careful when constructing and where you choose to display it, the force is certainly not always with this set. Overall, this is truly a masterpiece from Lego. It's purpose is primarily for display, and it fulfils this purpose beyond expectation. As the largest, most iconic, and arguably best Star Wars set to date, this is well worth the price and highly recommended. Lego really hit the target with this one and has allowed many fans to play well.

It'll take more than 12 parsecs to build!

Massive. That's the only way to describe this model. Everything about it is over the top from the number of pieces, to the number of details, to the length of time it takes to build (about 35 hours for me), to the amount of space it takes up to display. It took me a long time to decide to get this one, I am a huge fan of the ultimate collector series but at $800 this one seemed a bridge too far, but ultimately I couldn't resist adding "the largest set ever made" to my collection. At the end of the day, the model is worth twice the price. There is a certain amount of joy just in receiving and unpacking the package, FedEx claims the box was 36 pounds! The design of the model is exquisite, real genius not only figured out how to create this thing but also in what ... MoreMassive. At the end of the day, the model is worth twice the price. There is a certain amount of joy just in receiving and unpacking the package, FedEx claims the box was 36 pounds! The design of the model is exquisite, real genius not only figured out how to create this thing but also in what order to put it together. The details are numerous but all appropriate, nothing gregareous; it's these details that add to the 7500 piece count. As you build you have to trust that LEGO knows what they are doing, at one point in the early assmebly of the roof pieces I thought the model might be too flimsy for its size, but once all the componets were in place, it made more sense.A couple of drawbacks: The cockpit is generally unremarkable given the effort the design team made to get other parts of the detail of the ship correct and accessable. You cannot easily put the minifigures into the cockpit and the detail isn't great (it's not bad mind you, just compared to everything else, I'd like to have seen a little better). The roof assembly is genious, but it almost outsmarts itself, there are plenty of details inside the ship and a serious effort was made by the design team to make these elements visable, however the disassembly and reassembly of the roof to get in and out of the model to reveal the detail is a little clumsy. Having said that, the shape of the Melinnium Falcon is unique and the model is an excellent representation of the movie version, there were always going to have to be trade offs in order to get the overall look correct, and this thing looks amazing!!There is a nod to the hidden cargo compartments inside that the Han, Obi Won, Luke and the others hide in after the ship is pulled into the Death Star in Episode IV, but its not very big and an opportunity to make something more minifigure size was missed in a different and otherwise unremarkable part of the ship.I would like to have seen a Lando mini figure with this ship as it is based off the episode V and VII versions, but this is nitpicky on my part.I read a different review that claimed the set is too fragile, what must be remembered is that this a model, not a play set, there are some fragile elements and the weight and size of the set makes it more of a display piece and less of a toy, frankly I would not recommend this set for children unless once built the set will be torn apart and added to a piece collection. Once completed the set's best purpose is to sit on a shelf and be admired. You will need a really big shelf!!!Overall this model is INCREADIBLE!! The build is challenging, over 1370 steps, the instruction book is almost 500 pages long, but the hardest part is dedicating the time. The things I found lacking are minor points. If you love Star Wars and Lego like I do, this is a must have for your collection!!

Meets all my expectations

Until I bought this set about a week ago, I hadn't built with Lego in probably 13 or 14 years. I'd heard about this kit when it came out (I think it made a news article somewhere or something), and I remembered the MF kit I had as a kid (the very first MF Lego made). I thought about this new one off and on for a few years, and just now decided it was time to be a kid again...and I went down to the Lego store in my city and bought one. I built it over the course of three days, off and on, with regular breaks to give my back a rest from leaning over the table. The instructions were very clear, and I had no missing pieces. In fact, for me, this was not a challenging set to build so much as it was a time-consuming one. I rate it as moderately challenging in this review ... MoreUntil I bought this set about a week ago, I hadn't built with Lego in probably 13 or 14 years. I built it over the course of three days, off and on, with regular breaks to give my back a rest from leaning over the table. The instructions were very clear, and I had no missing pieces. In fact, for me, this was not a challenging set to build so much as it was a time-consuming one. I rate it as moderately challenging in this review only because of the time and focus it takes to complete it. But I can see how it may be challenging for someone less detail-oriented to navigate the build/instructions. It's just that for me, it all seemed very clear and well designed. The model itself has some genius design ideas for replicating a very good Lego rendering of the real MF. I might also add, for those who may not know, that this Lego model is the exact same size (give or take a few millimeters) as the 32" prop model used in the filming of the ESB. So that's cool from a scale perspective. As far as I can tell, the proportions are correct, and the only inaccuracies are those necessitated by the Lego system's limitations. There are of course ways that this set could have been designed to accommodate more interior space and sturdier top paneling, but I do cut Lego some slack here because this is first and foremost a UCS display piece, and it serves that function very well for a Lego model. The two internal play areas are clearly not intended to be movie-accurate. So I give this set high marks for what it is: a UCS Lego model of the MF that greatly exceeds the detail and scope of every other MF Lego has ever designed. If you want a hyper-realistic, movie-accurate full interior and exterior hull plates that are impervious to repeated handling, I suggest doing a MOC (maybe I will myself haha).A word on the structural integrity:Some reviews of this ship claim that it falls apart if looked at wrong, but I have not had this issue at all. It is true that the top panels are loosely resting in place and could fall off if the model were tilted too close to vertical, but I am able to lift this thing as shown in the manual and move it around, tilting and turning, without anything falling off or even shifting. There is some flex in the model if you don't pick it up as intended, but that's true of any Lego model this large and heavy. I respectfully suggest that builders who experience things falling off for no apparent reason probably did something wrong during the build. All in all, this set is quite impressive when completed and serves its intended purpose well. And it got me started in Lego modeling again after more than a decade of "adulting" haha, so kudos, Lego!

My favourite build!

I’d wanted this for years and finally pulled the pin. It took me about 25 hours over 5 days to build it, not wanting to rush. But it was so much fun! The booklet is massive too. The only thing I didn’t like was the numbered bags were not in order in the internal boxes - inside the big box is 4 smaller boxes. So you have to tip all bags out of the inner boxes and sort them into number order. I had to move house recently and managed to get it to the new house without breaking it, but was not going to be disappointed if I had to rebuild it 😂

The size of this model still surprised us even after reading reviews and observing builds on line. It is monolithic! We read one review suggesting it is too big - but the level of detail and the pleasure of the build are also oversized and very satisfying. The consistency of finish over the whole model (underside understandably excepted) is to be truly appreciated and the building technics are varied and interesting.Typically we are into technic builds - I have found this build (and the Saturn V rocket) a welcome return to more traditional lego with some amazing engineering to make it all come together. It was an engaging build despite the necessity of the repeated steps - we took our time to enjoy the process which, no doubt, aided in dampening any of this fatigue. Perhaps we were surprised that it is as delicate as it is with many of the top panels benefitting primarily from gravity to hold them in place - but the success of achieving that subtle clamshell sculpted shape of the topside is impressive in the LEGO medium! We saved up for a while for this set - it is expensive. However, we would agree that it is a good value and it represents something really quite special. Upon opening it, we were in the full throws of physically distancing in our country in the face of the global pandemic - it has been a wonderful pastime (and distraction) to engage my kids with a beloved toy and a beloved theme. How does LEGO package these things so consistently with all those pieces? We were not missing anything. Incidentally, the box matched the prowess of the model. The presentation was lovely and sets a new standard for anybody that packs anything in a box!The experience comes highly regarded by us and comes with our recommendation as long as you budget carefully for it.It will end up for display in a custom coffee table eventually, currently it is held, very sturdily, by the Efferman Stand.Happy building folks. Thanks for reading!

Very frustrating!

I recently got the stand for my UCS millennium falcon, and honestly the stand itself looks amazing! All the pictures of people using it on this site look great. However I for the life of me can’t get it on the stand, and it doesn’t come with any instructions or help guides. I’ve tried placing it on twice now, both times ending is multiple sections of the build coning loose or falling off and a few of the microdetail blocks falling off. After spending time re building the falcon (minus 3 tiny pieces that for the life of me I can’t see where they go) ice decided to save my frustration and put the stand to one side for now.I think it would be a great idea if the site provided a video tutorial on how to correctly and easily place the falcon on the stand.
