I went through and built every configuration of this set, and I have to say that frankly you can ignore all but the flagship shuttle transporter. I will be treating this as if it weren't even a 3-in-1, because honestly it doesn't feel like it is. But, that is okay, because I love the shuttle transporter. The different reds and whites on the truck cabin itself make a beautiful simplistic build, accented by the different blues on the trailer. This transporter itself is a great build that I adore for its color usage, absolutely great. Not to mention the shuttle itself. With classic white and black colors it forms a simple but effective little space plane. Not only that, it includes an opening compartment to deploy a satellite, a level of detail I didn't expect. LEGO products need no separate review. They are all great; even if you have duplicate sets, you can always use your imagination to make something new. That said, if you or your child is into space, perhaps this would add the thrill factor. Bottom line, I don’t see why would anyone be disappointed other than the steep LEGO price. My recommendation, wait for the sale (BestBuy online and Store prices can differ).

Product arrived earlier than expected. Purchased as a Christmas gift for my son. He was beyond excited to put this set together. He's built and taken it apart several times and has done all 3 builds. He is a Lego enthusiast . I was so happy to find this set at a great price for him!

I think I’ve been buying LEGO’s my entire adult life, first with my three sons and now for my 7th grandchild and sometimes granddaughters. They all seem to enjoy them and can create many different things with them even when they are a set like the space shuttle. We have a popcorn tin full of pieces from my sons LEGO’s that they play with as much as the new ones.
My 5yr old Grandson put it together no problem. He has been doing legos for years. This is a great educational toy. Entertaining and teaches them to follow directions and notice. He is bored in kindergarten. They need to start challenging our kids. Lego would be a fun way to teach children while they are having a great time
Even if you spend an hour trawling the internet for MOC space shuttle designs, you'll be hard pressed to beat this one -- and for the price, it's a bargain too!The shuttle here is surprisingly well detailed (things like the angled rocket exhausts and the circular crew entry door stand out) and the overall shape is pretty good given the scale. The fact there's a working arm, a satellite payload, and (easily removed) wheels adds to the play value.For sure it would have been nicer with brick-built booster rockets and external fuel tank, but transporter lorry is a nice build even if the scale doesn't really make sense compared with the real space shuttle. Easy enough to adapt the lorry with a few extra bricks into a separate model and enjoy it for what it is -- a ... The entire set is excellent, but what is really outstanding is the shuttle is the perfect scale for the Lego Ideas International Space Station (set 21321). Makes both sets an outstanding display. Shuttle also works well scale wise with Hubble Space Telescope From Women of NASA (set 21312). More NASA sets at this scale please.
I purchased this for my 6 year old son. He has had a ton of fun playing with it. The main purchase was to get the shuttle but the truck and trailer are nice additions. The price is just right and since this he has been talking all things rockets!
When I saw this set at the LEGO store, I immediately wanted it. I expected it to be around $40 and could not believe it was only $25; I checked the price three times. When I finally believed the price, I purchased it right away and went home and built the space shuttle and carrier truck for my son. It was such a fun build with great little surprises (like the opening hatch and the satellite!). I was in build heaven! My son played with this LEGO set for WEEKS before he let me try helicopter build. All three are great fun, but the space shuttle...you just can't beat a space shuttle.
I was hoping to get this for my granddaughter for Christmas but sold out. I was able to get it for her Birthday - back in stock, waitlisted. I was so happy and so will she. I order a lot online from Zulily for Christmas and birthday presents as well as for myself! Great way to shop!
