Best Tablet I've Ever Owned

My intention was not only to use this device for entertainment, but as a workstation also. I play games on it to relax, as well as surf the web, shop, read news, check email, etc. I watch tv/movies on it while in the tub or anytime I'm getting myself together in the bathroom. Having a 12.6 inch screen is perfect for all that. Most of all, & I've officially replaced my 13 inch laptop with this device. Productivity mode allows the P12 Pro to function like a computer. I bought a wireless keyboard to go with this at the time of purchase because the actual keyboard kit wasn't available for separate purchase at that time. The interface is easy to use in regular mode & in productivity mode. Everything's customizable to fit your personal taste.Storytime... 3 weeks after I purchased the P12 Pro, I had a little accident with it. My tablet was on the sofa & I dropped my TV remote control on top of it! (I was making hand gestures while talking & the remote flew out of my hand & slammed onto the screen). When I heard the *BANG* my heart dropped to the floor cause I just new it would be ruined. The screen was not broken, but when I picked up the tablet I could see that the "inside" screen was shattered in 2 places. I pressed the power button & the screen wouldn't light up! All you could see was a rainbow of lines light up in the area where the remote slammed onto it & the rest of the screen was black. I immediately got in touch with Lenovo customer service & informed them of what happened. The rep had me email pictures of the device & sent me a shipping label so I could ship it to the repair center. I received my device back within 5 days of me sending it to them, GOOD AS NEW! It was so flawless that I actually thought it was a new device, but it wasn't, cause the serial numbers & everything were the same. IMPECCABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & REPAIR!! And I was able to keep up with the status of the repairs thru my account on the Lenovo website, as well as the emails they sent me.I have owned many Lenovo devices over the years (4g & wifi tablets, and phones) as well as purchased for my family members. I'm no stranger to the brand. I'm so impressed with this tablet that I brag about it to everyone. And it's much more affordable than the other brand with the same accessory & function. Big clear screen, loud rich sounding speakers, great refresh rate, the pen is excellent to use & I use it & its many functions everyday. I'm actually considering buying a second P12 Pro for all of my personal stuff & I'll use the one I already have for all my work stuff.Lenovo, please keep the amazing products coming! Please keep your large screened tablets with pens for people like me & I will continue to be a loyal Lenovo customer. A 13 inch tab with precision pen would be the bees knees!! I would definitely jump on that!!

This really is an amazing tablet from a hardware perspective. It feels premium and the AMOLED looks amazing. The speakers are loud and clear and the built in aptx Adaptive is a game changer if you are an audio nerd.Unfortunately, that can’t make up for the software support. Over the past few weeks I have owned it, an update was pushed that essentially prevents users from doing anything other then watching media. Engaging in any touch intensive activity, taking notes, playing games (as simple as a jigsaw), or browsing the web, the tablet will eventually crash and reboot. If it was a once a week thing, whatever. But it happens in every extended session I have with it where I’m not just watching videos. In my opinion, it is excellent hardware if you need a device for entertainment and medium work. It is super light and thin, easy to carry. I thought the size would be too big, but it's the perfect size for a mobile device. Compared to the iPad Pro 12" dimensions, I prefer this aspect ratio. The colors on the screen are fantastic, it is not at the level of the iPad Pro, but if you do not require exact color calibration this screen is almost at the level of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. I think that Lenovo offers the best tablet on the market in relation to "quality-price". Pen writing experience is good, the lag is low. The only negative aspect is the software, Android is great on smartphones, but it is not optimized for large screens and multitasking. my wife has an iPad mini with iPadOS 16 and the user experience is exquisite and unique. The ability to have floating windows, fluidity, and multitasking is great. Finally, I can say the best apps are in the App Store, the apps work best on iPadOS. In this sense, I think Android has a lot to improve.

Great hardware, limiting software implementation
9 May 2022

I love the hardware at the very attractive price. It's 2/3 the price of the Samsung S8+, which is its direct competitor. The screen, speakers, and pen are all great. However, the software has so many bugs that I do wish I had spent the extra few dollars. There seems to be a lack of attention to detail. For example: the settings menu - everything is haphazardly put in unusual places. Looking for keyboard settings - those are hidden in the productivity mode menu. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the settings search feature wasn't completely non-functional (type something in - nothing happens).Battery life like the p11, has some weird standby drain (20-30% per day). The battery portion of the OS is also broken (so the list of apps and battery utilization is missing - there's a little click box that says - Apps will appear here if they're draining too much). There have been a lot of other little bugs that I keep finding every few days... Autorotation often doesn't work with the keyboard attached. The fingerprint sensor usually doesn't work (you get 1 try, 2 max before it says you tried too many times and it locks out for a few minutes). The pen sometimes goes haywire (if hovered near the screen it thinks it's pressing on the screen and draws everywhere. These are the big ones I found in the first 2 weeks of ownership.Support is unfortunately not helpful. They've indicated that I'll just have to wait for an update (but Lenovo has only promised 1... Samsung seems to be continually working on updates even for 1-2 year old devices.Like I mentioned - the hardware is great, but I don't think the software allows for its effective use, and without the support, I don't think it will age well unfortunately.

Great visual quality, amazing speed for gaming
18 July 2022

Upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite and was expecting a jump in visual and performance quality, and it blew my expectations. The high resolution screen makes for amazing viewing for videos, games, or browsing SMS. I am able to play games with basically zero lagging or drop in FPS.I am happy that they included the converter to use headphones. I always find the quality of headphones better than any speakers, so this was one of the selling points for me with this tablet. You can't charge the tablet when you are using headphones, but the battery lasts so long that you can just swap the headphones out to charge it at night or when you step away from it for a bit.Since I mostly use this Tab P12 Pro for games, I don't have much to say the digital pen, or the ease of ...Ā MoreUpgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite and was expecting a jump in visual and performance quality, and it blew my expectations. If it feels uncomfortable at all, I think it is mostly an issue you can get used to. General ease of use, like going through settings, is pretty straightforward. I feel like Samsung has a larger variety of features in general, but this Tab P12 Pro has most of what you would want and it's easy to find what you need.Overall, I really like it, especially for gaming. It really feels well made when you hold it and use it.

So far I'm very pleased with this product I've only had it for a week and I love it. I just wanted something that I can use to surf the net or watch a movie and even listen to music, which sounds awesome by the way. The picture quality is beautiful, the weight of this tablet is very light and the screen is a perfect size for me. I have a Samsung TAB A and it still performs well, I just wanted something bigger and faster and the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro ticks all the boxes for me. I have had great experience with Lenovo products in the past, I still have a Lenovo Laptop and the only thing I replaced was the battery. It still works great but I can't load Windows 11 on it. New contender in premium Android tablet space

Updated from a 2017 purchased Samsung tablet. Looking for a large screen tablet with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for marine scientific fieldwork on research vessels. Also needed flexibility to use a keyboard. For initial purchase only obtained tablet, as I have several bluetooth keyboards and mice already to trial with the P12Pro. May obtain the keyboard kit when it becomes available as a separate item in Canada. Tablet has certainly fulfilled initial promise - very fast and pleasingly free of bloatware. I am so disappointed in my Lenovo P12 pro. The screen is gorgeous and the sound is fabulous, but the OS is VERY quirky! Also, it's a Chromebook without the security advantages of Chrome (it's android, not linex with sandboxed apps) and does not have built in virus protection / scanning like Samsung. Very risky. (Apple closed platform is still the most secure.) It does not have it's own browser, only Google Chrome, and all apps through the Google play store. Drawing apps have terrible palm rejection, and apps crash from time to time. YouTube is freezing a lot too. Not slow to load, but it the page freezes and you cannot scroll it. I read about these issues with Lenovo P12 and Android 11, and expected the bugs to be worked out with Android 12, which I updated to out of the box, but NO it's still finicky and unstable. Also, it is intermittent at best with an Ethernet to USB C adapter, so no-go for hard wiring it to internet (that could be a factory defect in the port on my particular unit, but that shows unreliability of hardware (or it's just more quirky OS). Positives are good battery life and it runs cool. If you want it only for watching media or listening to music maybe it's OK. The screen and sound is that fabulous, that it might be worth taking a chance on; if you get it on sale. Also be aware that security updates will only be supported until the end of 2024, as per Lenovo's site. Since it runs a Chrome browser, Chrome should still be supported, but if any malware slips by Chrome's servers, the Tablet will then not stop it. My Chromebook and Samsung Android phone, constantly get updates, but so far this Tablet has not. Also, I could not get the SD card door open, broke the pin it came with trying, and bent (I stopped before breaking it too) the pin from my phone. Like it's glued shut. In conclusion, you get what you pay for! I'm returning it (Best buy is 100% top notch for that). The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 0 is the screen and sound is that good; but you need a lot of patience with it, and it has security concerns, so I cannot keep it or recommend this tablet!

This is a great pad, but, beware...
4 November 2023

I got this pad from BB back in June ('23). I use it for electronic assisted astronomy, particularly for outreach (showing visitors to the observatory what the telescope is seeing). It is excellent. Home use shows it to be fast and capable with excellent sound and a wonderful screen. I am very happy I got this over the P11 Pro (which contrary to the salesperson, post-dates the P12... but the P12 being sold now by BB is an updated version so no worries). So why the "but" in the title of this review? Two things...It is a slippery beast so go online and purchase a cover for it. I found one for ~$25 that works great. However, when I had it out of the cover I fumbled and broke the screen. I am lucky that I bought the accident coverage from Lenovo (a very worthwhile $35), and it is currently off for repair.Second item is that it seems Lenovo, for whatever reason, has discontinued the P12. Buy the remaining stock and pick up warranty coverage as they will be gone soon. It is a great product and worth the extra over the P11 pro. If you are looking for a 12" screen, and not a 10.6" that people round up to 11, this is the one to get.

[Rewarded Review] Good alternative to Samsung
8 December 2022

Not that I am anti-Samsung. However, I found that Lenovo’s packaging, especially with regard to Bluetooth audio CODECs is more suitable to my audio needs. Lenovo includes support for Aptx, Aptx HD, and Aptx ļæ¼adaptive - the whole suite. Plus LDAC, SBC and AAC. Samsung supports Aptx (and LDAC/AAC/SBC) but not the high resolution enabling Aptx adaptive or HD CODECs. Instead they feature their own proprietary CODEC called Samsung Scalable CODEC or SSC and incorporate it into the Samsung headphone snd earbud line. With so many premium Bluetooth headphone options out there that support the Aptx CODEC suite ļæ¼it is disheartening to know that Samsung has decided to opt out on fully supporting the Aptx suite. ļæ¼ Sennheiser, Bowers & Wilkins, Bang & Olufsen, Master and Dynamic ...Ā MoreNot that I am anti-Samsung. Kudos to Lenovo for keeping the path open for audiophiles in an area of quickly advancing technology. This tablet has an excellent screen. It is very quick, and Lenovo’s adaptation of Android 12 really makes this a delightful tablet all around. My tablet shipped with Android 11. ļæ¼Lenovo has pushed out an Android 12 update, which was easy to implement. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work great.
