Levi's 512 Tapered Slim Fit Jeans Mid Blues 33/30

Bought online and returned immediately—twice

These pants have a ripped left pocket for “style” that isn’t shown in the pictures. I exchanged them through customer service and was “guaranteed” that the next pair would not the hole. The next pair were exactly the same. If you’re going to put the holes, at least show it in the pictures so I don’t waste my time purchasing it in the first place.

Enormous belt loops!

Fit is fine, but oddly the belt loops and front pocket openings are way oversized. Seriously - you could easily slide a toilet paper roll through the belt loops. Makes for a sloppy look.

Fantastic

These are my new go-to jeans. Advanced stretch really does hold form better and the waist is exceptionally comfortable. For all of the times I’ve washed my wife’s jeans and thought “why can’t my jeans feel this good?”, I now have have a solution. Every new pair of jeans from now on will be advanced stretch.I appreciate how the denim feels more durable than standard and the leather patches look much better. I lucked out and received a blank red tab pair, so that was pretty cool, too.I am 6’3”, 220lbs athletic. 34x34 fit how I like.

Fit and Color!

Earlier this year, I discovered the 512 Slim Taper and fell in love. The two major winning features for me are the tapered leg, which just looks and feels so good, and the stretch, which gives me room to move. For that first pair of 512 Slim Taper jeans, I only purchased one color. Since I loved the fit so much, I knew I had to have another color. As a person who likes darker colors, I was drawn to this “Dark Wash” and I wasn’t disappointed. Just like my first pair, this new color gives me the range of just being casual or dressing up.I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. The 512 Slim Taper is now my first jean of choice.

My new go to pants

Bought these pants about a month ago. I loved the 511 but hated how the bottom leg opening seemed to flare a bit. These are just perfect. The slim inseam with the tapered bottom fits both cons, vans and my doc martins. I absolutely love these jeans and will not but any other fit now. Unless the make a skinny taper then I’d try that. Only problem i found was the waist feels big at first but after the first wash it shrinks a tad creating the perfect fit.

No quality consistency after 4 pairs

After giving these jeans 4 different chances to make them live up to the “premium” label, I can see that there is no consistent quality across these higher priced jeans. First time I bought two in the same style and same size. Only one of them fit properly, with the other being so small at the waist I couldn’t get them on. I did really like the pair that fit, so I decided to give these jeans another spin in a different color. My second purchase was in the “headed south” colorway. Again, I ordered two because of the issues I’ve had with Levi’s quality assurance in the past. Upon pulling out the jeans from the box, I was immediately aware that the jeans were much lighter and thinner than the ones I had bought previously. On another note, the specs that used to be displayed prominently on this product page used to include notions of a “higher thread count” and other specifics. I’m seeing none of that information at the moment I’m currently on this page. I really want to like Levi’s, but it’s hard when the good experiences I’ve had are being significantly outweighed by the bad ones.

Too tight

I was hoping to get something similar to the 505 straights but with a tapered leg. These seemed to be what I was looking for but they were incredibly tight, and looked nothing like the fit in the photos. I bought two different colors and they fit like super skinnys. My wife thought it was hilarious. I wasn't as amused. I could barely get them off. I'm 6'1/170lbs for reference.

bought 3 prs 512's-diff styles/all diff fit!

I bought 3 different styles and they all fit totally different with a different feel-and cut. Some felt stretchy, others were definitely not (polar bear-loose/indigo berry-tight no stretch). I put on my 511s to compare and they are basically identical except for the opening at the bottom of the leg. The taper and varying style & stretch is what attracted me to try the 512 over the skinny 511 styles-not feeling any differences in them at all. I don't hate them but not sure there's much difference. Final judgement will come after I wash them for fit.
