Love love love these! They are the perfect fit. Now I have plenty of shorts where my checks are popping out. Sometimes I want that, but not all the time. It's hard to find something that can contain this booty and NOT look like oversized mom shorts (the un-flattering kind)There is a strong chance I buy another pair I love them so much. I have almost every single current wash/color and style available of the Levi's 501 Original Fit Shorts. Vague Finish is one of my favorite washes/colors/styles this season. It's a great mid-town neutral blue with sort of an almost acid and antiqued wash. It's sort of a lighter wash/version of "The Future Is Now." It's a perfect casual denim short that can be worn with just about anything. And, it can even be dressed-up with heels fand a leather jacket for a night out. I am always a size 23 in Levi's 501 Original Fit Shorts. I find Levi's 501 Original Fit Shorts sizing to be super consistent and reliable, and the quality is unparalled (way better than more expensive brands that are way overpriced). Beware. Shorts run large. I bought size 27 because that is my actual waist size but I measured them and they are actually a size 28. Sadly I will have to return them. Quality, rigid, 100% cotton denim with a button fly, which I prefer. I thought maybe these were shrink to fit but they are not. The raw hem on a few of these styles seems a little overdone to the point where they don't look like they will last very long. Just a conjecture. Will purchase again in a smaller size. Hopefully I can return these bc they are very expensive!

I’ve purchased many Levi’s jeans and shorts and they used to be great quality. I wore these once and the thigh ripped within 2 hours. I wasn’t doing anything crazy in them, going shopping, sitting down at a restaurant and walking around. The thigh started to rip and continued to rip until it was through the jean material to the part that was intentionally ripped, and the hole was massive. I can’t wear these out now, and customer service’s only solution was to exchange them. I don’t want to get another pair and have them potentially rip too? Not happy with the quality Levi’s has become.

I'm not a huge fan of denim shorts - have yet to find the perfect pair, so I decided to try these 501s since I wear 501 straight leg jeans. I have an athletic build, 5'2"/ 130lbs and ordered a 27 and a 28. The 27 fit like a glove, but since I have thick thighs I didn't like how tight it felt around my thighs. I could have kept the 27, but didn't want to be constantly pulling them down. When I tried the 28s, there was a pretty big difference between the two sizes. I swear the 27 felt like a 26 and the 28 felt like a 29! If I had a little more hip/thigh room, the 27 would be the perfect fit. The 27 fit nicely in the waist, with a little bit of room too, and of course my derriere looked fantastic! But, I decided to go with the 28 to be more comfortable, a looser fit. I ... I ended up getting them 2 sizes bigger. First I tried 1 size up because I wanted a loose fit, like on the model. The did fit, but very slim and worst of all: I had this wedgie feeling going on. I am 5" 9', narrow frame/hips, but athletic/muscular butt and thighs and I got a long waist. So I usually go for a high rise to combat the wedgie effect. I ordered another size up and the wedgie feeling was deminshed but still there. I measured the waist and it is 1 inch smaller than you would expect for the size. So it definitely runs small. They are so cute, the embroidery is top notch quality so I decided to live with a little bit of a wedgie feeling and keep them.
