I bought this primarily due to its 128 GB size and the fact that it has a metal casing, which holds up well on my keychain. I comes with security software, which I have not tried since I do not carry sensitive information on my keychain. I also have not been able to test the USB 3.1 speeds since my legacy machine only has USB 3.0 and 2.0, but it was able to be read just fine in those older ports. I love its slim design which does not add a lot of weight or size to my keychain, and the fact that it fits very tightly in the USB sockets...I definitely do not have to worry about it falling out or not making good contact with the port. I've had older versions of this same drive, and the only issue I've had is that to keep it as slim as possible there isn't anything to ... I've had older versions of this same drive, and the only issue I've had is that to keep it as slim as possible there isn't anything to protect the open end of the drive from pocket lint and other dirt that accumulates by being carried daily on my keychain. However, many of my cheaper drives also do not have any sort of protection, and my last drive lasted years on my key ring. Its slim physical size with its large capacity is also very useful when I have to mail many large digital photographs to a gallery, exhibit, or contest. It holds all the files I could possibly want and doesn't require a bulky envelop to mail. I wish these drives were more plentiful, available in various size, and easier to find...nothing beats the metal casing, the 3.1 speed (or in my case, 3.0). and the Lexar brand.

Compared to my older jump drives, this one was terrific, both in terms of speed and capacity. Download speed was even quicker. Copied entire laptop files/photos in minutes. Only downside is it is tiny in size - needed to add a keyring to it so it could be pulled out easier.

The product looks very robust and attractive - though on the "tiny" side. The download into the Flash Drive was smooth, quick and efficient. I will no doubt purchase more of this product, if necessitated. Thank you, Staples for dispatching the product quickly and securely. Thank you to Lexar for a good product (only wish it was slightly larger, as I tend to lose small articles - however, the "loop-hole" for a ring, on the product, compensates for the smallness).

Bought it and returned it. The drive does well in benchmark, but when writing/reading large files the speeds plummet because of the bad design of the drive. It overheat and the write speeds after just a few seconds goes from 70MB to 1-2MB. Do not buy.
I wanted to have a USB with a metal case instead of plastic for durability in my pocket and this one had a quick read speed listed. Large file writes (3Gig) did not impress me as it was fast/slow the entire time but quicker than others I have used. Reads were at 250MB/s sustained for the same large file and that was impressive. If you can tolerate slower writes for large files than this would be a good device to use for fast reads. Best use is for smaller files. (Gen 2 USB 3 port used) (Read/Write files on PC were NVMe Gen 4)
The drive was impressively small and can easily fit on your key chain without any bulkiness. As for being USB 3.1, well that is questionable as I have other USB 3.0 drives and they are 3 times faster than this model. I needed two in order to make a recovery flash drive for both my desktop and laptop computers and will never need them again unless I have a computer issue.
There is something seriously wrong with the one I got. It writes at about 5Mb/sec.It bursts to 100Mb then drops to 5Mb very quickly. Then does it again over and over when copying files to it. Horribly slow. I also bought the 64Gb version and that one works well. Still not remotely close to the advertised 250Mb/sec. I've never seen a USB stick run that fast, even on read only. Very dissapointed with Lexar right now.
Plenty of storage space and well built. Feels durable. Good for storing files. Priced right, would definitely buy again
I just started using it. I was able to backup a failing flash drive to this new one. It took a couple of hours to copy about 90 gb, which seems relatively fast to me. I've used other Lexar flash drives in the past and they hold up well.
I picked this one out specifically for the physical size, storage capacity, and fact that the keyring loop is is metal to not break of my keyring like the last one did without the need for a smaller additional split ring. So far, it is working as expected. It can get hot as others have reported, but for my typical short duration file transfers its no big deal. That is mainly if I get distracted and leave it in for a long time.
