This 256gb flash drive from Lexar is a fairly fast performing drive, especially for the small premium over other USB drives. Overall, given the super fast read speed and moderate write speed, I would recommend this drive if you're looking for a USB flash drive. If you need anything with faster write speed, you may have to go to a USB SSD drive. Bought it for my nephew for school use and he loves it and so far no complaint from him.

I’m paperless at home but even needing less room for papers you eventually need additional storage room for files. This 32G jump drive makes it convenient for me to quickly access my favorite and important videos, files and photos. Just recently I had to access a years old photo of my neighbor’s leaning tree that finally fell onto my home. It’s extremely lightweight and I love that the connector slides in and out of the sleeve and that it has a keychain slot so I can keep it close by. I do wish the keychain slot was made of steel though. Otherwise it’s perfect for my needs and priced just right. I also highly recommend this brand.

[Rewarded Review] High Quality 32 GB Flash Drive
14 June 2023

The Lexar JumpDrive S80 USB 3.1, 32GB drive arrived well packaged and undamaged. The drive is small and has a key chain slot. I like to keep a flash drive with me all the time, so this is really handy. The drive is compatible with both PC's and Mac Systems. The USB port is metal so it will hold up to repeated uses. The outer case slides up to cover the USB connector. The drive is plug and play, no added downloads needed. It does come with some security software already loaded on it. I personally don't like that, so I just reformated the drive. It's designed to work with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices. I have found that I can download a movie in just two minutes or less. It's just a good high quality jump drive that I expect to get a few years of use from. [Rewarded Review] I prefer Lexar S80's
1 April 2022

The Lexar S80 is my preferred USB 3.0 flash drive. If I need anything 256 GB or under, I get an S80.The S80 has an improvement over the S75 from Lexar, which used to be my go to flash drive. The USB port slides more easily in and out on the S80 versus the S75. On the S75, a new drive would take a bit of downward force to get the slider to unlock and open. The S80 sits securely and moves without the need for too much force. There are really only 2 complaints with the S80. Unlike the S75, the S80 removed the access indicator light. Both write data to the drive in "bursts." You will get a block of data written to it and then the write operation "pauses" momentarily before resuming again. Depending on the size of the data being written, this can happen a few times over the course of the write operation. For any flash drive 256 GB or less, I will always go with a Lexar S80 first.

[Rewarded Review] My recommended flash drive in recommended capacity
2 March 2022

The Lexar S80 Jumpdrive is my go to flash drive model. It replaced the S75. And 256 GB is my go to capacity. These are the flash drives I've purchased most often in recent memory. 256 GB may be overkill for most people, but if you're looking for higher capacity, it's the largest, save for the recent 512 GB and 1 TB versions that have been manufactured recently. However, those are considerably more expensive. There is an easy to use slide out for the USB connection which is an improvement on the S75. The S75 had a rather stiff slide out mechanism. The S80 is much easier while still maintaining a solid lock when in the locked position. There are really only 2 downsides. The S75 had an activity indicator light which the S80 lacks. You will get a block of data written, then a bit of a pause, after which writing resumes again.Generally, when I need a flash drive, the S80 in 256 GB capacity is the one I find myself buying more often than not.

[Rewarded Review] The S80 is one of my go to flash drives
8 February 2022

I used to primarily get the S75 Lexar flash drives, but they no longer make those. The S80 is its replacement series. So, these are one of my go to flash drives now. There are really only 2 downsides. One is, unlike the S75, the S80 does not have a drive indicator light that flashes when an operation is being performed on the drive. The other is the drive, unlike some other flash drives, writes data in "bursts" to the drive. It will write a block of data, then pause momentarily before resuming writing another block. Smaller amounts of data written either won't display this or have fewer pauses in writing, but it is more noticeable on larger sizes of data being written.Like the S75, the S80 has printed on its maximum capacity so you'll know what size it is. Unlike on the S75, though, you have to expose the USB type A connection to see the printed size on it.The S80 has an easier to expose USB type A data connection than was present on the S75. The S75 required a slight bit of pressure to press down on the slide switch. The S80 just slides back and forth.I would easily get one of these if I needed a larger capacity flash drive. 128 GB may be overkill for some use cases, but if you do need that much space, I would recommend an S80 for it.
