I plan to run this as dual monitors with my other monitor (also thin bezeled).Surprisingly, the monitor has AMD Freesync, but with a 5ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate, I wouldn't consider this monitor for gaming use. You can get MUCH less expensive monitors with better specs for gaming than this monitor. If you needed a monitor for double duty use and gaming was secondary, then this monitor might work.The monitor does have tiny built in speakers, 2 x 5w 2.0ch speakers, which sound like what you would expect from 5w speakers :) They useful if you don't already have separate speakers, something to use until you can get external speakers.* I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion

Tough one to review as it has so many good qualities but I simply can't say that I'm in love with it.I swapped a 27" iMac for a Mac Studio and chose this monitor after researching online.Colours are good but the white areas are not bright enough, no matter what setting it's on. My 2017 27" iMac's 5k Retina display is much clearer and brighter.The screen is matte like the old Mac Monitors rather than being glossy. Some of my creative colleagues prefer this but I've got used to having a glossy screen now. I would have liked to the description to have included a reference to it being matte.The stand is excellent. The monitor is easy to set up. My USBC Thunderbolt cable didn't power it so I had to use the included power adapter.Images in Photoshop and Prem Pro ... I've had this monitor for about 18 months. The display itself is great, very bright and crisp. I also love the arm the mounts right to my desk. The single USB-C cable to my MacBook is both a blessing and a curse. I love that it passes both video and charging power with the MacBook over a single cable. But the monitor's USB-A ports are only 2.0 so they really limit the speed of an Ethernet interface. And There are almost no USB-C hubs that pass both video and PD charging on a single USB-C cable So what was a nice feature turned into a very difficult problem when I simply wanted to add a USB 3.0 port behind the monitor. A Selore MacBook hub eventually provided an acceptable workaround. But that wouldn't have been necessary if LG had supported USB 3.0 ports instead of ... Great screen for productivity and the stand is apt for someone who wants to comfortably use for both a sit/stand mode.I have been using for 3 months now.I want to give a 5star but, the following point makes me go with 4:The only issue i faced so far is the usb-c port stopped working within 3 months. The port became very flimsy and did not sit in place. LG was quick to replace the motherboard and thus the issue is resolved, however the cable that came out of box for usb-c too stopped working at the same time and sadly this wasn't replaced according to the limited warranty. Though it is only 3 months so far - now I have to buy the cable (since 4k usb-c are slightly expensive - this is a pain point for me - considering the price of this monitor - was hoping they ... Overall the monitor seems very good quality.Image quality is great and seems pretty accurate as compared to the MacBook Pro's display.Sound from the speakers are just a bonus and pretty average.Biggest FLAW of this monitor is the USB C port on the back, which is very fragile. It became wobbly and literally came off the motherboard after using it for several months. I pretty much never unplugged the cable during that time period and only movement to the display was the height adjustment, tilting from side to side and bringing it a closer or further.If you are careful with the usb c port and use cable management so that the cable doesn't really move I think its a great display.

I thought we would have to color calibrate the monitor after we got it, but it already came color calibrated from the factory. This is a 4k monitor with an IPS panel, which when it comes to color reproduction, is superior to both VA and TN panels.There are plenty of input/output connections in the back: 2 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x USB C w/60W PD, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A (Downstream) and a headset jack. For some reason manufacturers are not allowed to list the version of the HDMi being used, but this one uses HDMI v2.0 and DP v1.4, sadly it's not using the latest HDMI v2.1 spec.Something interesting that I just realized is that LG has something called LG Calibration Studio (True Color Pro) which is used to, as LG puts it, "ensure high color reproduction and accuracy on LG monitors". This software package is used in conjuction with hardware color calibration tools and it turns out the hardware tool we use is supported. Next time I use the hardware calibration tool, I'll try out LG's Calibration Studio software along with the software that came with our calibration tool and see how the two compare with each other.One thing I'm not happy with about the monitor though is that it came with a C-clamp style stand instead of a traditional desktop stand. On the good side though, it does have 100mm x 100mm VESA mounts on the back, so that was quickly fixed by using a universal VESA mount stand instead. I know it's supposed to save space by using a C-Clamp, mount, but not everyone can actually USE a C-clamp mount on their desk. The monitor comes wrapped in a thin patterned Styrofoam bag and placed face down at the bottom of its packaging box with the weight of everything else, including the monitor arm, placed directly on top of the back of the monitor. The pressure this creates between the screen rubbing directly against the bag leaves permanent physical imprints etched into the antiglare coating that are visible when using the ... The LG 27UN880-B is a fantastic monitor that should check a lot of boxes for most people, with some decent future-proofing as well. The monitor was well packed in a large box with generous cushioning. The setup was somewhat confusing at first due to the ErgoStand and the directions weren’t crystal clear, but they were still satisfactory with a few minutes of trial and error. Of note, the clamp for the ErgoStand will not work easily with a very thin computer desk, but any desk with at least 1.5 inches or so should suffice. The monitor has a matte black 27” screen that is crisp and pops pretty well even with minimal calibration. The monitor technically has HDR, but similar to most HDR monitors, it is somewhat disappointing due to not having enough nits for “true” HDR ... I bought this monitor for a MacBook Air running in clamshell mode. Picture quality is outstanding but the USB hub stopped working after about a month. This rendered the USB-C and USB-A ports useless. I had gotten a message on the monitor that there was too much power draw (had a backup drive and and iPhone plugged into the USB-A ports) and the ports stopped working. When I removed one, they started working again. A few days later the ports went out again - this time permanently, even though nothing was plugged in other than the Mac on the USB-C port. The USB-C port provided a video feed to the monitor and the monitor provided power to the Mac. LG needs to have some sort of robust protection on its USB circuity so that a reset can happen more than one time. Would recommend against purchasing this monitor for the USB hub feature.
I wanted to love this monitor, I even drilled a hole in my desk for it but once I got it set up, the image was not very clear and often the whites would drift in and out. Images were very shaky when scrolling no matter the speed.I called LG tech support, the first 10 times or so over a period of 2 days, the line was disconnected before I could speak to someone which is a huge red flag.I called again and they didn't seem to know anything and had zero advice aside from what I already had done. I spent hours upon hours playing with settings on both my computer and the monitor itself and trying various cables.
