I have had this monitor for just under 2 years and in that time the USB C connection has failed twice, which breaks the inbuilt USB hub and USB-C video/power. The first time it broke was within 9 months of purchase. It took over 2 months to get fixed, which in the end LG just sent me a new monitor. The second time just got fixed (took a month in which the main PCB was replaced). From first plug in, the USB-C, continuallydisconnects/connects. So looks like a warranty return again. What a lemon. Do not touch this monitor, if you ever want to use the USB-C. And what is the point of this monitor if you cannot.

Purchased for working from home, after having used this exact monitor in the office. Replaced a dual 24 inch monitor setup. Good for having Outlook on one half, and Team on the other, or two Excel spreadsheets side by side. Works at the full resolution with both my work laptop (Intel) and my M1 Macbook Pro, with both laptops just using the the USBC cable for both monitor and power. One cable replaced the power cable, the HDMI, the USBC monitor cable as well. I did look at some 34 inch monitors in this category, from Phillips and also HP, which were similarly priced (even a bit cheaper with the sales at the time), but I ended up buying this one because LG also have a good reputation, and as I have used these at work, and they are great. Refresh rate goes up to 100Hz but I can't tell you if they are good for games. I tried playing League of Legends on the big screen; it fills the screen but it's almost too big; I tried Civilisation IV but it can't use the entire screen real estate.Speakers are OK and better than the laptop speakers, but it's as expected for monitor speakers. The control is by a little joystick bottom centre of the screen which I found intuitive to use.I mainly use this for work, so I can't fault this monitor for this purpose.

Plugged in and within minutes everything was set up and ready to go.Easy to put together, and set up, I am using the display port for my connection to PCScreen resolution is great and it's a big step up from my last 1080P monitor. The only thing that lets this down is the finishing of the product. The outer bezel on the front of the monitor has some sharp and rough edges. This is a bit of a let down and I hope the inside is better quality.

I’ve had this monitor for a month now and although there are better options at astronomical price points, I feel this monitor is a super great deal for what you get. I game on Xbox One X console with no problem whatsoever. I can’t speak to PC gamers buy console gamers, you good! Being a VA panel even when the room is bright you can still see fairly clearly as long as you have brightness up all the way in the day. In a darker room this monitor truly shines. Bright, crisp and clean and accurate picture detail. The blacks are truly black and uniform which I love. The first monitor I received was flawless and worked perfectly with my 2019 15” MacBook Pro. Also this charges my MacBook Pro with the 94w power delivery it promises. It is glorious. I just ordered a second ... I love that these monitors are all black too! Much better than the white silver combo of yesteryear. I didn’t experience any of the problems some others have commented on. All in all this is a fantastic monitor at an amazing price point. I’ve seen much lesser monitors (ugly ones too) that are double and triple the price of this one. This monitor meets all my needs and checks all the boxes for me. I’m mostly going to be working on music and occasional gaming. I highly recommend this monitor if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on it
I bought this monitor as I wanted to ditch the three plugs for the two-monitor setup I have, along with the docking station. Read the reviews, and looked at the product info and thought that this is perfect for me. However, once I had installed the OnScreen Control software, that's when the issues started. the software is no better [actually it's worse] than the standard Windows option of being able to snap applications to either side of the screen. In fact, I thought that the software will automatically snap the apps into the desired screen split, but no, you have to drag and drop them . Then, you will notice that there are gaps around each of the split apps, making the screen look messy, and it's quite off-putting seeing open applications behind. Also, it appears ... Also, it appears that not all apps are supported via the split, so WhatsApp and Messenger have to be manually resized.
I bought this a few weeks ago thinking I'd be able to reduce clutter by going to a single screen and connecting my Lenovo X1 Carbon via USB-C and eliminate the need for the dock. The USB-C port on the monitor does not deliver enough power for the laptop. The supplied cable was faulty causing the screen to disconnect and reconnect every few minutes. Tried 3 other cables and whilst the screen stopped disconnecting, the laptop continued to discharge. Also note that it does not support PBP and updating the monitor software via the LG OnScreen Control is no longer available.
If you are buying this monitor, it’s likely that you are buying it for usb-c. Power delivery and easy switching between computers with one cable, super convenient! Unfortunately that’s the Achilles heel as well. USB-c burned out and I had to ship it back to lg. (no fun finding an appropriate box and packaging then hauling it around town to ship) got the monitor back 8 weeks later annnnnd usb-c goes out within 2 weeks again. At this point I’ve spent more time without the monitor than with it. Super frustrating experience - avoid at alll costs
Pros: Easy to use. Great connectivity - everything I've plugged in so far just works.Extra USB ports are nice to have and work well when connecting the screen via USB-C or Thunderbolt.Image quality is the same whether using USB-C, display port or HDMI. I don't know about refresh rates though - I'm not a gamer. Using this for software development and CAD.Built in speakers have surprisingly decent sound - though it's by no means on a par with separates.Cons: Brightness consistency across the screen is poor. All the corners are dark. The lower left corner is darkest among them, and is also the largest dark area. I don't have a light meter, but subjectively, the corner brightness in the worst spot appears to be about half the brightness inthe center of the screen. The ... MorePros: Easy to use. If you care about the representation of material you produce, this will not give an accurate rendition. It's fine for general office work and anything that requires a lot of horizontal screen real estate where colour and brightness don't matter much.
Purchased back in March 2022, and in Dec 2022, the USB-C stopped accepting input. HDMI worked, but the connection would be intermittent. Replaced cables and monitor adaptor on my Mac. I also tested with another computer with the same results.LG sent me new cables, but this didn't help.My only option is to send my monitor to LG for repair.I've never experienced this problem with a monitor before, and I've been using monitors for 30 years.
This monitor is widely known for it's faulty USB hub. When I originally bought mine, there was no disclaimer about the USB C cable not being able to handle Macbook Pros. That changed about 1 month into owning it, and multiple issues with the USBC port playing up. Eventually the entire USB hub died. It was fixed under warranty, only to have it happen for a second time. I am now being issued store credit and looking for somthing more reliable. Even now with the dead USB hub, the HDMI barely supports 60hz refresh rate on the Macbook Pro, flickering constantly.Poor quality, do not waste your time or money like I did. That's 2 months I've been monitorless due to this things poor build.
